I must say that while our family enjoyed our trip, I was a bit disappointed with the trip. Maybe I had higher expectations and it ended up not measuring up to my expectations. My first disappointment was that the place isn't very kid friendly. Even though they have a couple of rooms designated for children, there are signs in certain areas asking to keep quiet because of the animals. This one wouldn't have been much of a problem if they had at least been friendly which is the fact that all of their employees/volunteers are elderly folks who seem to have lost their ability to interact with and tolerate little children. The boat ride was a nightmare! We weren't aware it was an educational boat ride and that the captain would be talking the entire ride, otherwise we would have never went. But we went and good thing that we brought food for our two and three year olds in order to keep them entertained and inside the boat (lol). Mind you, we were told the rules of the boat the minute we sailed off and one of them did not include not eating on the boat. So after my kid had already devoured one of the snack bags we had brought for the boat ride, that's when the captain told me that we weren't suppose to be eating on the boat, which he then concluded that it was okay because he never mentioned that as a rule nor did he have it posted it anywhere on the boat or dock. To be quite frank with you, the boat captain seemed very frustrated and irritated, first by the noise my children were making and then because of our eating. If I had to do the boat ride again with my children at the age that they are now I would not have done it, too much stress and not worth it.

Fun atmosphere and lots of interactive activities for the kids. Knowledgeable staff that spent time answering your questions. Recommend that the boat rude which is included with your ticket. It last about 45 minutes and runs at the top of every hour.

We popped in to check out the Conservancy when we found the zoo overcrowded on a resident weekend. What a gem! Excellent, interactive, and very well-kept exhibits… kids and adults all learned lots! We started with the boat tour, and then enjoyed a leisurely time touring the exhibits, learning about alligators, pythons, eagles, native (and non-native and invasive) plants, and the kids even got to explore the touch pool, which they enjoyed thoroughly! Most of the exhibits were inside in the AC, which was an unexpected but welcome perk of a July visit! We enjoyed it so much that we picked up a membership, and look forward to our next adventure to the Conservancy.

It's a pretty nice place. The scenery is very pretty, and the tours are nice. It's a spot that I'd definitely take my kids to (if I had any) and somewhere that I know I would've loved to visit 15 years ago. There's nice little presentations about various topics here and the speaker was friendly and funny when I went. The kids in the audience loved him. For sure would recommend for families or for anyone who has a free afternoon.

I was at The Conservancy Center for the Earth day Celebration with my grand kids. We had an awesome day, all very organized, lots of activity for the care of our Planet. Very instructional. Great job of volunteers and workers in all areas, helpful, nice, patience with kids....We really had fantastic day! Awesome and free eco-tour in the Gordon river. Very well trained guide , the boat captain, very nice and fun . Kids really enjoyed it.

Spent a nice afternoon here. They gave an informative presentation on Florida's reptile population, including the damage being done by the Burmese python in the Everglades. It appeared to me that virtually everyone we encountered was a volunteer and they were all friendly and knowledgeable. We took the boat tour which I highly recommend. The boats are comfortable and the birds along the way were plentiful. Our guide, once again a volunteer, was well-versed on the history of development in the area and how it has effected the ecological landscape of modern Florida, not a pretty picture. I also have to say that the grounds were spotless and the restroom I used was without a doubt the cleanest I have ever encountered in a venue like this.

What a facility! The place is beautiful and well laid out. There are air conditioned areas and outside areas. We loved the 45 minute boat tours that are included in the admission price which was very reasonable at $17.95 for adults and $9.95 for kids. Annual family membership (3 adults and 4 kids) is $100. Our boat captain, Glenn, was very knowledgeable of the area. Our 5 and 6 year olds we were traveling with were well occupied for the hour + we spent in the discovery center. What a great discovery.

Want to avoid the crowded zoo? Come here instead - it’s right next door and there’s plenty of shade. They had a significant renovation and reopened not long ago. There’s a variety of things to see and do here. There’s an animal hospital with some rescue animals including a bald eagle, a owl and an education room teaching how animals get injured from trash, plastics, fishing line/hooks. Theres a playroom for kids under 5 - where the air conditioning didn’t function. A 45-min boat ride as well as kayaking. Another building houses some reptiles and a science/nature museum where you can spend an hour. Animal encounters are held right outside a few times per day. Yet another building has a theater showing educational videos. We got there at opening time and were the only ones there for a little while and it didn’t get crowded even when a few other showed up. Yes - go check it out. Bring the kids.

This is a great place to visit with kids! We were so pleasantly surprised with the exhibits. They were professional, informative, interactive and fun for kids and adults. There is even a great touch tank and a virtual encounter with and alligator, bear and panther! Every volunteer we came into contact with was knowledgeable and friendly and helpful. The price of admission (very reasonable) also includes a 45 min electric boat ride which was relaxing and informative. Highly recommend this place!

Amazing organization. Very educational and exciting group. The estuary and river boat tours are wonderful.

Really nice interactive exhibits! The kids loved the mangrove wave machine, the touch pools, and the baby alligators. The volunteers at the touch pools were great. We probably should have skipped the boat ride- it was too hot and there wasn't a lot of nature left on the river- just houses.

The Conservancy in Naples is always nice to go to and the free boat rides are wonderful. It's great to learn about nature there and always a nice treat if you have guests to show them around.

Took our 3 year old grandson and was disappointed in the number of animals and play area for the price. Play area especially was nothing but a room with essentially nothing in it. Better for an older child who can do learning activities.

The conservancy is a great experience full of knowledgeable young people who obviously love their job working with the animals. It's a great learning experience and just a wonderful nonprofit organization that not only cares about animals, but the environment and the earth! Highly recommend visiting and supporting them in their efforts to keep wild animals, the earth and waters protected.

Y'all must see! We had a lovely visit today. We saw turtles and blue heron. Our volunteer tour guide was informative and it was a perfect afternoon on the water. Thank you! PS it's free this month. 👍😁

I took an orphaned turtle dove to them for rescue. They nurtured the nestling until it was strong enough to release back into the wild. The staff and volunteers are working very hard to save and conserve our our part of the world. They deserve five stars! 👍

The recent renovations have made it a really enjoyable place to visit for my young kids. So much hands-on, localized wildlife exhibits!

Highly recommended for all age groups. We did the guided kayaking tour with a combination of older and younger people. Their boarding area is specifically designed to assist customers with special needs to get on and off their kayak by leveraging a hand bar for assistance. We really enjoyed our visit.

👍👍 I had planned a trip out into big cypress to finish off my 8yo daughters spring break strong. I had planned on 14 miles of amazing Florida wilderness and an incredible dad/daughter bonding trip. What I had not planned on was an incredible experience with a ranger at oasis visitor center. Athena Gonz...
