Highly recommend the Chargrilled Oysters! The Blackened Grouper was amazing and the Skillet Cookie stole the show!

I love this grill joint in Memphis. The bread rolls were fresh out of the oven and tested like what I imagine perfection would test like. The food and vibe was amazing. The server took care of us and we were impressed by the service. Loved the place.

Stopped in for lunch. I had a taste for some seafood. Ordered some fried jumbo shrimp(they were massive) and some grilled oysters. I desired to have the oyster appetizer before my entree but it didn't go that way. All the food was excellent. Starting with the soup I'd the day which was some hearty red beans and rice with what appeared to be some andolle sausage. Food was pricy but worth it.

My favorite place for lunch in the Memphis area. The Grecian Style Beef Calves Liver is probably the best in the U.S. I've never had any better - Anywhere. And the Calamari & Fried Green Tomatoes is right up there too. Delicious !!!

Excellent food and the service was even better than the food. I would wholeheartedly recommend sitting in Marley Bennett's section if she is working!

Our meal was exceptional. From the salad to the dessert, it was a pleasant experience with friendly and attentive servers. I was surprised how tender my steak was and how thick.

We LOVE eating here, especially celebrating me or my husbands birthday or our anniversary. We have always had fantastic service here. I don’t know what happened tonight. Our server was awful. We felt very rushed the entire time. She never spent time explaining anything, such as specials. When asking for a to-go container, she sat it on our table. I know that sounds silly, but our server has always bagged it up and everything for us when we have dined in before. Servers around us bagged up their customer leftover food for them tonight. It wasn’t the typical service we get at Jim’s Place, which has always been fabulous. Alfred especially. Anyway, I’m not sure if it was an off night, but I’m not sure if we will be back due to our experience tonight. Food was delicious though.

This was my first time trying out Jim's Place. I had heard a lot of great things about the restaurant. My reservation was for 6:45 and we arrived a little early so I figured we'd have to wait to be seated. Not at all. We were seated at in less than 5 minutes. The atmosphere of the establishment was loud and exciting on the bar side and more calm and quiet in the dinning room. Our server was nice and knew all of the meals of the day by memory, but didn't offer nor bring us any water for the table. She did take our cocktail orders though. All of the steak selections ordered were cooked to perfection for medium rare lovers. My ribeye could have used just a little more seasoning but still was good. Everything was fresh, came out quick, and was hot. This will most definitely become one of my regular dinning spots!

Nice atmosphere but pretty underwhelming for the price point. The oysters were decent but the food had no flavor & the cocktails were pretty weak. The spicy Paloma would be so much better if it were just a bit stronger. Overall it’s just a decent ok restaurant. Definitely over hyped.

Great food, excellent service, and excellent menu choices. Today was our first time eating here and we will definitely be back and highly recommend. We had a mixture of gumbo, salads, and seafood and everything was delicious. Drew did an excellent job and was an attentive server. Highly recommend for a date day/night.

The tuna really wasn't the best quality, despite the quantity, but everything else was fantastic for everyone in my party.

The wait time was horrendous! The service for us was not great either. I'm going to assume it's because we were the only black couple there. Everyone else's service seemed great compared to ours. The hostess took forever to wait on us and used the excuse of not knowing we were there even though we were sitting right in front of her. People that came in after us got seated first and got their food before we did. We were there for over an hour and still did not get our food so we asked to cancel the order and just pay for the drinks and appetiter. The waiter went to the kitchen and told them to cancel but the chef insisted it was ready so we requested that it be boxed to go. Got back to work and opened the container only to find that the hamburger/chopped steak that I ordered (well done) was extremely pink in the middle. The creamed spinach was nasty even though it was highly recommended. I threw everything in the trash. We will not visit or recommend this place to anyone... Especially anyone that is black. It's almost 2020, do better.

Walked in to have a drink before our dinner reservations elsewhere. Loved it so much we just stayed and ate at the bar. Excellent environment and everyone encountered was incredibly friendly. 10/10 will go again.

Amazing food

The premier (and only) old school high end steakhouse in the area. I have been several times and never had a bad experience. The service is exceptional. Food and drinks are the same. The prices are fair for the quality and quantity of food.

Food was sub par especially for the price. I had the crab cakes which were not all the way done. They were really soft. Had to cook them more. The girl that I gave my order to forgot to add my gumbo to the order. I also had the shrimp scampi pasta and it had almost no taste just noodles and lots of mushrooms.

Came for my husband's birthday and was pleasantly surprised. Good food and even better service! Highly recommend the chargrilled shrimp appetizer!

Excellent Restaurant! Great food, better service! It was expensive but totally worth it! I'll definitely go back to celebrate another special occasion.

We just had our son's rehearsal dinner here this past Friday. All of our guest thanked us for the delicious food. The Salmon was very delicious. For those who ordered steak came out to their perfection. We had 3 waiters waiting on us and all 3 were very professional and polite. Much more than I expected. Brandy was our contact person and she did everything we asked.

Very nice selection on the menu. Place was packed but never felt crowded. Service is superb. Food quality is even better.

This is a wonderful place for dinner. The staff works smoothly together and you are treated very well. We were out for a special celebration and the combination of atmosphere, service and food made it extra special.

What a disappointment! I LOVE Jim's Place Grille and food is always good. Last night our party of eight visited the restaurant. Five good meals and three of us ordered the moussaka that was served COLD. We notified our waitress and she returned it to the kitchen, only to have it re-served to us a little warmer than room temperature. Several at the table ordered the Italian spinach. No one ate hot spinach. The kitchen had an "off" night. Knowing the service we normally receive I was surprised that a manager didn't come by the table to check on us, especially when three meals were returned. There was no discount given or any acknowledgement that the meal wasn't up to the high standards expected from Jim's Place Grille.

Second time eating here Bryan and I. I had the pistachio encrusted sea bass with broccoli and brussel sprouts. Bryan had garlic encrusted prime rib with mashed potatoes and salad. The food was off the charts. Couldnt have been better. Our waiter was outstanding. His recommendations on dinner today and last time was right on. We will be back and I recommend this place to everyone.

The food was okay nothing special and service was slow. I had to wait for coffee, tea, sugar and they almost forgot my soup.

Best steak in town. Love the vibe there too. Waiters are always attentive and professional. When the crab legs are available, it’s a must for us. Well worth the price!

I enjoyed my experience. I ordered the shrimp gumbo to start and the Norwegian Salmon with lemon garlic, baked potato and Italian spinach. Wasn’t a fan of the spinach. The gumbo needed more…something. The service was great and overall a good experience.

While we enjoyed our steak and it was probably the best I ever had, it was a little disappointing that our server did not offer any birthday complimentary dessert. When you spend $120 for 2 people to eat out, it's the little extras that mean the most. This is a very upscale restaurant and the food and steak was excellent! Server was great but was not aware that the restaurant DOES offer complimentary celebration dessert. I spoke with the owner the other day and he was so nice and very receptive to my disappointing lack of birthday dessert. Sam explained that they are working with training on all the servers to help them Give customers the ultimate dining pleasure when eating out at a fine restaurant. As I said, their food here is excellent and we will certainly go and visit again!

We had the calamari, ribeye steak (Wow), blackened flounder, turnip greens, Italian, spinach, a side salad, baked potato and wild mushrooms. The ribeye and flounder were excellent. Without hesitation, we would order both of them again. The sides were very good, especially the Italian spinach. It had eggs mixed in, which was very unique and good. The turnip greens were the only exception to the otherwise fabulous meal. While they were cooked perfectly, they were just turnup greens without any other ingredients. They needed seasoning in order to match the excellence of the rest of the meal. Elizabeth took care of her every need and was wonderful. Chef Nacho is to be commended for his excellence in preparation. The food was wonderful.

I was quite underwhelmed with the food. My chicken and pasta were not seasoned well. The service was good and my wife enjoyed her elderflower lemon drop.

Took my mom here a week ago, and it was wonderful! Wonderful atmosphere, very clean, and our waitress was amazing. We plan on doing this monthly now. Every employee wore masks, and everyone remained socially distant. Very respectable.

Well because my server was fairly new i want fault her but the fact that one of my friends had to send his over cooked steak back and it was not ready until we where all ready to go they simply boxed it to go, the silverware was not clean ...not to mention they wear extremely slow . I HAVE NO DESIRE TO RETURN

Awesome food. I really liked there Grille chicken and my office colleagues liked there steak which was perfectly cooked. I also liked there Veg soup and rice on the side. Very courteous staff Very well lit and decorated ambience. I really liked there paintings of waterfalls Vibrant atmosphere inside.

I gave it one star because there’s no option to submit comments with no star! Don’t bother, customer service is absolutely horrible. We first tried giving this place a chance, several years ago and it’s always the same issue. Either the order takes forever or they never place it until you ask. Same excuse, they’re too busy to give service!

1st experience and was there for a business lunch. Great ambiance, quality food, service was pretty good (minus the fact were weren't offered the bread but we heard a different waitress off it to each of her table. Our waiter told us we had to "ask" for it and that the other waitress offers it anyway even though they weren't supposed to...but you know whatever, lol) . I definitely would go back again and try a different menu item. I had the Gulf Grilled Shrimp and the Gumbo which were really delicious. Once we got the bread-it was delicious as well.

Due to COVID we had to cancel my daughter's larger wedding ceremony at the Pink Palace several days before the event. We decided that a smaller immediate family celebration in the groom's parents' backyard was a safer alternative. We had roughly 30 people and needed catering for the wedding. We called Jason At Jim's a few days before, we knew we were asking a lot. To my surprise, even though they had scheduled catering for a few events the same day, they did not immediately say no. They asked if they could call us back to see if they could make it work out. Several minutes later they called and we had a positive answer. Jason and I quickly worked through the menu and by the next morning the menu for the wedding was in place. On the day of the outdoor event a cold front was heading toward Memphis and we called on the morning of the event and asked if they could move the delivery an hour earlier. Again, they worked with the kitchen staff and were able to grant the request. The food was delivered on time and set up quickly by Patrick, who was very courteous. The food was great, which is the norm with Jim's Place Grille. I would recommend Jim's Place Grille highly for catering. Thank you to Jason for helping to make our daughter's wedding a memorable occasion.

Walked in friday nite...called ahead to ask for the table I proposed to my wife one year ago...it was our 1yr anniversary. Assured the table would be open...Arrived at our time of reservation an there was people already there eating..expressed to the lady up front she acted confused an offered another table ..we ask if we could wait an her reply was if that what you want..after 25 min we left..we have been coming to Jim's for a few yrs an never was treated like this especially after we called ahed

I hate chain restaurants.... but I'd pick Logan's over this place. For the money they ask, definitely NOT worth it. Go somewhere else unless you enjoy being disappointed.

Nice atmosphere and friendly staff

Asked a customer to dinner on a business trip, they suggested Jim’s place, at first glance I had concerns with so many great restaurants in Memphis but my client promised me it was a hidden Gem. She was right the food was fantastic. Key recommendations the pork tenderloin appetizer, and pecan encrusted catfish was a big winner.
