The best day in salento! The team of mountain bike tours is absolutely amazing, everyone is super friendly, from the first second we felt super welcome and amazingly taken care of! John and Alberto our guides were super professional and answered all our questions with a big smile on their face! The lunch that was included was awesome too! The landscapes you are gonna pass by are mind blowing, the equipment is in great condition! 5 stars ⭐️ for this amazing experience! We will be back for sure!

I did the extreme mountain bike tour yesterday. The start of the tour is the same as the non extreme. I’m my opinion as a mountain biker. This is not mountain biking. You are cycling along a vehicle track with the truck either in front or behind. Quite handy because you can leave your bag in the back. The scenery is absolutely stunning and worth doing for that. The palm tree scenes are just spectacular. Then the last couple of hours, maybe a bit less you can do some Mountainbiking, it is really good, through a pine forest and out into the open fields, very technical in places, some nice rocky single track in parts, elements are definitely a black run. Really in the Colombian countryside. The Bikes are pretty tired, single speed down hill, they’re good enough though, decent travel. Alberto our guide was lovely, energetic, friendly, conscientious of those with lesser ability and a pleasure to ride with. I would recommend the tour as it’s so beautiful but there is less than 2 hours actual mountain biking.

This is an amazing value for all you get from 8 am-3pm! You travel 32km on your bike and 32km on the trucks. The scenery is stunning. It's 10x more beautiful than Valle de Corcora. The guides are incredibly kind, helpful, professional, and talented; wow, they are great riders! And, they are very chill. The support drivers are very good as well. Everyone is so relaxed. The amount of people that go to support the ride is incredible. The bikes are outstanding - doolies that literally can go over anything and you will not feel it nor will the bike pitch. They are super heavy duty and made for downhill mountain biking. The roads are challenging in parts with a lot of loose big rocks and ruts, but for the most part, they make the ride interesting. Your hands and upper body are jolted non-stop so be prepared for that. Halfway through, the company provides a fabulous lunch with lots of goodies - huge sandwich (mainly bread with a few pieces of lunch meat and cheese so you might want to supplement), apple, granola bar, guava sweet, honey crackers, fruit juice. And, at the end of the trip, they offer a beer on the house back at the bike shop. Some things to note: 1) The ride out is over one hour and in the morning it is CHILLY! I recommend you try to get a spot in one of the enclosed trucks as the back of the truck that seats 6 is very uncomfortable for such a long ride and quite chilly. The company provides fabulous blue windbreakers which make a huge difference. 2) If you rush down the mountain and only focus on the ride, you miss the view. TAKE TIME to slow down and look up. The group is stopped periodically at nice view points to check out the scenery, but we were at the back and we stopped a few more times to take a few quick photos. 3) We put our backpacks in the trucks for the ride so we didn't have them on our backs, but then you didn't have access to your things, water, etc. at the quick stops as the trucks were often further back. Maybe carry a smaller backpack if possible with just water on your back. Overall, it was a really fun day and the guides do all that they can to make it an enjoyable experience.

Amazing ride! We started at 15:00, which meant we got to see the palm trees during sunset, and we could descent into Salento under the stars. They have decent bikes and good lights for riding in the dark. Good guide, and nice views (way better then the cocora valley) The normal route was very suitable for beginners, and the ‘extreme’ track was super fun!

Loses a star as ideally all the bikes would be properly sized up and fully serviced before setting off as there was around 20 minutes of resolving various issues, but the guys did their best to get everyone sorted at the top. Other that they're good enough for the job which is all fairly easy dirt road decent. I would recommend the experience for any one remotely confident on a bike, the jeep ride uplift is fun (1 hour) & the picnic views rival nearby Cocora Valley. You rightfully have to pass a short test to be allowed on the downhill section which should really only be attempted by those with some trail experience & on a bike with two good breaks :)

I went biking with the guys twice - once the medium and once the extreme trail. It was professional, well organised and fun! The guys know what they do and they make sure you're fine and have good time. The 2 tours are adjusted to both experienced and not expierenced bikers, you can decide on the tour if you want to do the extreme trail. We got lunch and rain jackets, some small injuries were quickly and professionally taken care of. I had great time and would go again, if I'd have time🤙🏾

Amazing expirience. We did both the regular and extreme segments. The climb up to the top was full of great sight with awesome photo ops. The regular ride was fun and also with great views. Anyone that feels somewhat comfortable in a bike should be able to handle it. The extreme ride was amazing, about 6000 ft descent through pretty technical terrain. I'm an avid mountain biker and absolutely loved it!

I've had an amazing experience with MTB Salento. We did the extreme tour, witch was very hard, but also extremely satisfying! They managed to arrange an extra bike for me because at first, there weren't any spots left for the tour. This was a great service. Also the personnel is very experienced and know their way around a downhill track.

Brilliant experience. First we went up with at truck (long ride, but beautiful). At the top a beatiful view and the downhill was great (not too technical). Very good lunch, then back with the truck and an amazing downhill to Salento. Very good way to see the famous palmtrees and not too many tourist. Guides are friendly and speak English.

Crazy fun experience. Their main truck broke down on us half way up the mountain but they quickly arranged another ride up, and it actually added to the trip - the valley they take you to is much more scenic with palms than the Cacora and I recommend just to see that. The guides were all great and the biking was a blast - expect to get coated in mud if its been raining (they give you waterproof jackets, but the legs will be soaked).

A MTB tour with very nice views! You only cycle downwards, sometimes a bit thrilling when it’s rainy and slippery, but in general very doable. Lunch package was nice and well filled. The only thing that bothered me a bit was the size of the group: 13 people means waiting a lot.. but besides that a really nice tour!! Thanks a lot!

The normal route is great, with nice views, nice roads and easy for any type of rider. There are some good reviews about the extreme tour, maybe they have learned from my experience. (I hope so) I'm not saying, don't do it, just be careful in following the guide. I'm an experienced rider for over 20 years and not scared easily. But with the extreme, a german guy and me were following the guide in a fast downhill section. Without any warming or guidance the ground dropped with 3 meters, the guide jumped because he knows the terrain. I fell headfirst with a speed over 40 km/h. Thank god I didn't break anything in my neck/back, but I had to get X-rays to have it checked out. A big crash. One meter to the right and I would not be typing this. The guide didn't gave any advise about the terrain or warned us for dangerous sections like this. The insurance covered the dentist and hospital, but a good guide would try to prevent this from happening. So if you go, please be careful and ask the guide to give good advise about the terrain.

Great guides, really challenging if you take the extreme route. Really nice views and you are going to be alone in the wild, emerged in the fantastic Colombian landscape. The Carbonera valley is absolutely stunning! The Wax Palms are beautiful and so plentiful throughout the valley...such a unique landscape that is not to be missed 🌴🤩

We had a cool day with a nice group, bit to expensive though! (+) The guides are friendly and after a 1,5hrs ride uphill in a 4x4, you get a short instruction on how to ride the bikes downhill. The landscape is very beautiful (even better than in cocora). Short snack stop with coffee. (-)What we were missing: the medium downhill track ist relatively simple to ride. It’s the same way down, we came up by car. You can go the extrem track after passing a test. The extrem way costs extra and is really expensive for Colombia (to be fair prices have been communicated upfront). Our group split up in extrem-track and medium-track riders. We had to take the downhill for ~10k back to Salento alone, as the guide was going the extrem track. (->) So all in all, it’s a fun day, which is a bit overpriced. More guides would be necessary if you split the group!

Beto and Cesar were the best guides we could ask for and this mtb tour is the most interesting thing you can do in Salento, in my opinion. You leave at 8 am from Salento to the Carbonera Valley on a very sketchy dirt/mud road, but no problems here because Cesar is a very good driver. After arriving at the top of that road, we took the bikes and descended with Beto (who is a very skilled mtb rider and a very professional and careful guide) into the Carbonera Valley which is waaay more beautiful that Cocora. We had a nice snack/brunch provided by them at a nice spot in the valley (Go to the nearby waterfall here!). While we were chilling, the guys loaded the bikes back on the car and then we headed back to that top place of the road where to we took them and went with Beto on the extreme line (which is very beautiful and unique). I did the tour to La Carbora. The spot is stunning. Very different to Valle de Cocora if you're wandering.
