One of the busiest Junction on the Highlevel road. But traffic lights are syncing out to each sides to minimize the congestion. Traffic police officers on the duty is doing a massive and perfect job to control and make sure to correct flow of traff👍. So far most of regular the traffic officers seen for last couple of years are very wise men👮‍♂️. also one untrained officer can make a havoc too 🤞.

This junction consists of market where you get the opportunity of buying goods directly from farmers. Has banks, shops with vehicle spare parts, clothing shops and grocery stores. All these are walking distance.

Most things are available here.. It's a one stop place Dispensaries. Pharmacies, Labs for medical test, vegetables , fruits , Salons. Fast food Fish markets poultry shops. Hardware, gas cooker repairs groceries. You name it Delkande has it.

A busy junction with lot of commercial activity. Sunday fair has made it famous. Lot of history behind with land mark statue of Rev. Soma being installed. Land registry is one of the most important institute located at the Junction.

Delkanda is one of the busiest junctions in Colombo. One reason for it is that via this junction, one can access many major towns; if you go straight up, you will approach Nugegoda, through which Kirulapone, and then greater Colombo lies. To the left is Rattanapitiya, Boralesgamuwa, Piliyandala and Kesbewa. To the right, again, via Nueggoda, one can reach Nawala, Rajagiriya, and Borella further on. You are coming from Maharagama and Homagama side, in this case. The town of Delkanda itself has many amenities; Delkanda Sunday “pola” or market is very popular although now it’s moved to a place in Rattanapitiya, not far but walking distance from the junction. There are schools, several supermarkets (Keells in Gamsabha junction, two Cargills, Glomark and Laugfs down the Gamsabha junction road, towards Pepiliyana), Salons (La Passion, Cuts…) etc. The Highelvel Plaza in the junction itself carries a post office and the Nugegoda Land Registry. There are also many shops within that building. Traffic can get very hectic in the morning and evening hours.

Dirty and predestrian paths are encroached by peddlers. Well planned and built but not maintained.

Between 09Am 04Pm not so busy. When arriving from boralasgamuwa the Right hand turn towards high-level road signal light turns red quickly and motorist tend to run the red light at all times. It's becoming a habbit. So drive carefully.
