One of the best meals you will ever have! My husband, our one year old son and I were recommended Rosie's for dinner by our lovely accommodation at Singhe House. From the moment you arrive at Rosie's you are welcomed in like family. Rosie is such a beautiful, warm soul and an extremely talented chef! Rosie's daughter, Rosie's parents and staff members were all so lovely and it was just such a happy, warm atmosphere to be in. We ate there three times, two dinners and one lunch, two of those meals being cooking lessons. The whole experience is a must while in Hiriketiya I can't recommend it enough! Each dish is cooked with so much love you can taste it with each spoon! So many incredible flavours and everything is cooked from fresh produce Rosie has bought that day! You can really taste the difference and even after eating so much you don't feel heavy after which we loved and shows how perfectly balanced it all was. It was an honour to get to know Rosie and her inspirational story! We will definitely be visiting Rosie again for a delicious cup of her special cardamom tea, coconut pancakes and vegetable curries! Yum!!

Rosie’s is the one place you MUST visit when in Hirikatiya… We came for a cooking class, we left with not only with full stomach but also with hearts full from all the love Rosie’s is sharing, meeting her family and feeling like home. ♥️ Rosie’s is like a mum/aunt/or best friend to anyone who is coming by. From the moment you come in, you’ll feel welcome like nowhere else. We had amazing cooking class where we learnt how to do 15+ different dishes, and then enjoyed the amazing meal all together. We even left home with some of Rosie’s secret recipe curry mix. But Rosie’s is not just about cooking classes or dinners. Next day we came to shop clothes as her daughter is incredibly talented fashion designer. You’ll find here all the mix of tailored dresses, skirts, shorts, tops, made from high quality fabrics like batik and all at the very good prices. You can also order some tailored made clothes for the next day. 🙏 The third day we also visited Rosie for incredible breakfast - one thing you should know for sure, you’ll never leave her home hungry 🤣 Absolutely best place/experience in Hirikatiya if not whole Sri Lanka!

A culinary delight and a great experience to learn proper Sri Lankan food! I've been here for some time and while there are very good traditional Sri Lankan restaurants, nothing compares to the flavors in Rosie's kitchen. We cook almost 20 plates! Learn a lot and the food was exquisite.

Despite being miles away from home, Rosie's kindness and warm-heartedness made me feel part of the family. The meals we had were carefully prepared with love and attention to detail, leaving you feeling content yet craving for more. Rosie's passion for teaching and providing guests with an unforgettable hands-on experience in Sri Lankan cuisine is truly remarkable. Rosie’s kitchen is the most unique place you can find in Hiriketiya! Apart from food you can also buy really beautiful clothes. The food is delicious and authentic, Rosie is an excellent host and creates an atmosphere that makes you feel like at home. We did a cooking class with friends and it was an unforgettable experience. I also recommend booking brunch at Rosie’s as it is the best one I’ve had in Hiri. Can’t wait to come back!

This was the best cooking class I have ever done in my life. You learn not just a lot of recipes but also how to apply different techniques common across many Sri Lankan dishes so that you can experiment at home. Rosie welcomes you from the minute you enter her home as family and at the end there was a big communal table where we tried to finish the 20-25 dishes we made. She also sells linen clothing next door and you can see the selection upon request.
