One of the best places to hangout in Colombo. A cozy place which will bring you a home vibe. It has a decent crowd and no one will interfere with your privacy. Foods were really delicious and the portion is very lavish. The staff is very supportive and friendly. Pool table is available inside the premises, for Rs. 1,000 per hour. I am in love with the atmosphere and total experience, especially the food 🙊🤤

I liked the atmosphere of the place. Just like a pub in the UK. Not a noisy place. You can play pool paying hourly. Menu choices are simple but portion sizes are reasonable for what you pay. Food quality is also good. There are also smoking, non-smoking areas and meeting rooms.

2021 November here again. Seems like place is now NO smoking!!! Yes finally they understand it's better without smoking inside here! Thank you!! :) Always good place to visit. Only prob sometimes cigarettes smoke here.

Great place to watch the game. Screens everywhere. Usually packed on game days. Ideal place to hang out when the game is on. Value for money! Happy hour till 7.30pm. Gread deals on liquor and beer. Great food. Definitely try their plater combo. Wish they could improve the service a little given that it a pub run by a 5star hotel. Waiter kept on forgetting the order. And food took forever to get to us.

I’m a lover of fish and chips and grew up eating it in England. I’ve searched for good fish and chips all over the world - in the US, Australia, Germany, Korea, and many other countries. Until now, I’ve been disappointed every single time, and I’ve seen some true abominations being served as fish and chips in my time. Usually, you get 2 or 3 small pieces of fish - that’s a sure sign of bad fish and chips. Proper fish and chips contains one big piece of fish. My experiences were so bad that I came to the conclusion that proper fish and chips could not be had outside of the UK, maybe with the exception of Ireland, although I haven’t tried it there yet. Well, my world view has just been turned on its head. After having an outstanding seafood meal at The Lagoon the day before, one of the other restaurants at the Cinnamon Grand, I decide to be bold and give the fish and chips at Cheers Pub a chance. Wow!!!! I was blown away. As soon as the plate came out and I saw one big piece of fish, I was hopeful that this could be legit. Indeed it was. The batter was crispy, not greasy, and the fish beautifully soft and flaky. I was told that they use Modha (Barramundi). It’s not your typical cod or haddock, but it may even be better. I’m so happy that I’ve found this place and will be back on my next trip to Colombo!

Place is nice. Food is very tasty and the ambiance is good. But they kill ambiance by putting a football match with full volume. For football fans this is great but the ones who don’t like football this sucks.

Nice place for night hangouts with friends with a nice vibe. We four girls went there to spent some chilling time after so long and we had a great time. Gave a surprise to one of us for a late birthday and member of their staff who served us did an extraordinary service. We went there bit late and as our request he tried to get a piece of cake anyhow and it was free of charge and birthday girl’s cocktail was also on the house. Food and drinks were also great. We ordered chicken and mushroom casserole, traditional fish and chips, prawn and chips, and vegetable lassagna and for beverages Singapore sling, pina colada, strawberry fresh juice, and apple chilled juice. All dishes and drinks were worth for the money spent and big portions with the quality.

It was a very nice cozy atmosphere. We even got a separate room for a group of 10 people. A separate smoking area is available so that non smokers don't get affected. Happy hour was from 6.30 to 7.30pm. great range of dishes and great satff

The restaurant with the worst service at Cinnamon Grand. During our stay at the Cinnamon Grand, we visited all the restaurants at the hotel and this place disappointed us the most. I have visited Cheers Pub before and it seems like the service there hasn't improved. The staff doesn't seem to care as they were too busy involved in their own conversation. No one came to the table after serving the food. To test their attention, we got up to leave without paying the bill and they had no idea we hadn't paid for it, until I informed them of how horrible their service was. The only reason for 2stars is for the food cause the service and hospitality didn't exist at this place. To make things worse, they had more staff than customers at the time we visited. Hope the management takes note of this and do better in training the staff to be more attentive and interactive with customers. Attitude and personalities of the servers make a huge difference when it comes to good vs bad experiences at establishments catered towards service and hospitality.

Great Spot to catch up with friends..... super Atmos..... they got sports playing on the projectors... whenever there's a big game on.... no matter the sport...... Another great aspect... is a side kids room with toys and a little toy house ... great play area for kids!! with a TV for kids shows with awesome delicious kids menu..... Great friendly staff too.... Matilda being one of them. All up... always great experience visiting here.

I've been here several times, the service & their food have never let me down. Amazing atmosphere to catch a live match and enjoy a beer. They've got happy hour from 5 to 7.30 pm as well. Good food at affordable prices.

Ideal chill out space for evenings located in a 5 star hotel. Ambiance is great and well kept. Service is bit slow during happy hours from 5 pm to 7.30 pm but the staff is decent and professional. Loved the cocktails despite the happy hour deals their quality has not gone down like other similar places in Colombo.

Came for the Sunday carvery and it was excellent. Super selection with each dish packed with flavour. The roasted meats were particularly good with the roasted lamb being the highlight of the buffet.

Excellent food and service. The staff are always friendly and very attentive. The food is priced very reasonably and is prepared very well.

Disappointed with the food my children received. They specifically repeatedly mentioned "no onions please" on their mac n cheese as they have been served onions with the mac n cheese before. The person who took the order said they don't add onions anyway to the mac n cheese. But they repeated no onions please. 20 minutes later received 2 dishes of "onion" mac n cheese! When questioned why there's onions in it the 2 staff were talking to them selves making us wonder if they were waiting for the kids to eat and forget it, which the kids did as they did not want to make a fuss. But the mac n cheese was loaded with onions! The lady who served did ask if it should be replaced. Since the kids didnt fuss, said no. This shouldve been replaced without even asking. Spent Rs. 2000 x 2 for a dish they did not fully enjoy. Food and staff rating given this time because of this blunder.

Considering that the Cheers Pub is located within the always bustling Cinnamon Grand Hotel in Colombo, we had quite a disappointing night at Cheers. Service was woefully slow, and it took a long time for the menus to be brought to us and for the food and drinks to be served. One of our party ordered Tamarind Arrack but was informed that they were out of Tamarind, another of our group ordered some other drink but this was not available, one ordered fish and chips but they said that they had just sold the last one although later on in the evening we saw another customer having it. The Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding was a disgusting black mess (so much for chocolate chip). In all fairness, our waiter tried his best to please us but I am guessing that they were short staffed and no excuse for some of the food and drink not being available. Overall, a wasted Saturday night. Will definitely not be going there again as it certainly didn't bring any Cheer to our Saturday night.

Pretty good effort for and English style pub in Sri Lanka. Food was close to pub food, and the place was pretty packed for the motor racing. Kids were allowed and roamed around. Small indoor play area provided.

Love this place and the food. Located at cinnamon grand its styled as a sports pub. Has lovely wooden deco. Services great food and drinks. Portion sizes are good. Some items can be shared. Has a happy hour. The prices are reasonable. Crowded during friday evening and weekends therefore reserving is advised. Attracts a crowd during sporting events as well. Has a pool table and a kids play area as well.

The ambience, food and drinks were good. But the service was not that good the last time we went. Wasn't even crowded that much. On the fence about recommending it.

Used to be the talk of the town but unfortunately following the catastrophes of the pandemic, they stop serving finger food with drinks. Plus patrons are not allowed to smoke indoors anymore. Happy hour doesn't exist. On the plus side this was one of the few places that remained opened during the initial waves which is something to be thankful for.

Nice atmosphere particularly during the weekend. I haven't tried drinks other than beer. Good selection of bar food at reasonable prices. Friendly Manager but, most of the other staff appeared not so motivated.

Had the Christmas Dinner on 25th, The Food was not upto the standard of the hotel, but the staff was excellent in providing the service.

Food below average. Fish and chips and chips over cooked. Fish was also not fresh. Cosmopolitan was just a sugary drink. Surprised how cheers pub gone down. There were so many people with families. Please note there are many options patrons can choose from. Service was good only plus point.

One of the best places in Colombo to watch sports (several screens available), have a sit down chat while enjoying great food and drinks. A great place. Great ambiance and a delightful pub menu. The only drawback is that they take a while to serve. So, not a place to go if you are in a hurry. But, definitely a great place to unwind after a busy day.

Food is quite decent and the location is nicely maintained, best to make a reservation if there is a crowd. They have giant screens and a pool table. Atmosphere is pub restaurant, hence don't expect a quiet place to have a conversation.

Actually one of the best places for gatherings in Colombo . The Service was really good as well . Staff is very pleasant and professional . Sathira , who served us throughout the evening , did an amazing job to keep up to their customers expectations. Overall experience was really great and I think its worth coming back .

Good food , good atmosphere. Its a sports pub and restaurant. Server's are good but orders do take time. Advice is to order starters and main at the same time. Good quality food. Fair size portions. Service charges included but we gave the server a tip.

Had a fish and chips and a club sandwich: both of these dishes came with chips which were served at almost room temperature and it didn't taste fresh. Even the tartar sauce tasted like store bought mayo. I've had the same dishes many times before so the difference in quality was quite noticeable.
