The Station Visited here after a while actually and enjoyed every bit of the food. I must say their images on their Instagram profile and the food served match 100%. This is usually very rare so I have to make this a point for anyone reading it. On the food ordered the fried rice was on the spot and was made so well that every grain of rice was separated from each other with a lovely glaze to it. The crispy beef was brilliant and tasted so great that I did not know when to stop. The hot butter cuttlefish and hot butter chicken were soft and tasted amazing with their sauces. The kankun and chop Sui too were beyond amazing and hit the right spots. We topped all of that off with the fried prawns which I must say tasted better than some of the Japanese restaurants that I have been too. Overall enjoyed their food and enjoyed the ambience and the beer. The crowd coming in is very family friendly and our kids and us enjoyed every minute there. The serving team too were helpful and catered to us very well! Cant wait to revisit again guys. Keep up the lovely work!

The seafood fried rice, cuttle fish, and the deviled chicken can be recommended. These have a good taste. Cannot recommend the chow mein noodles. It had a very bad taste. The food portion is really small. The large cuttle fish will only suit 2 people. Even though they say 4. All the portion sizes are really small. Ambience and the service is good. Lime juice and the chocolate milkshake can be recommended too. The bad thing is, they include a price called tax. This doesn’t even show a percentage. Its just a value. So when we sum up the food items the tax is around 35%.

I made a reservation for 7:00pm on a Saturday evening. When we arrived there was only a group of people sitting at one table, but by 8:30pm the place was packed. Everyone in our group lives in the USA, so we were here for one thing, the crab curry! We asked to see the crab before making a decision, so they brought out the live crab. We ordered a few hot butter cuttlefish and some drinks to start, they were all great. Then we decided on the jumbo 1.8kg crab and asked for it to be prepared as Sri Lankan style curry. They have other options on how to prepare the crab as well. One of the people in our group ordered the giant freshwater prawn in a Sri Lankan style curry. Both curries came with a large plate of roasted bread. The Crab and Prawn curries were excellent. There is nothing like this in the USA. If we order Crab there, it will be steamed and pretty bland. This meal was expensive because we picked a huge crab, but I’ll remember this for a long time and actually, I’m craving that crab curry right now. Every staff member we interacted with at this restaurant was very nice. I recommend this place to anyone who wants fresh seafood, especially Crab and Giant Prawns. I’m hoping to go back again before our vacation ends.

Not gonna lie, the taste of the foods is pretty decent. I tried their cuttlefish,shrimp, prawn, and crabs and I'm pretty satisfied with that. I don't know if it's normal or not, but I feel the service time is super slow (especially for the crabs), not sure if that is by intent or not. Surprisingly there was a cockroach in my table, just say it's not my lucky day. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also pretty good, reminds me of some seafood restaurants abroad. There's no special parking lot here. Also be careful when you cross the railroad. Overall, a great experience!!!

Size of the portions were not enough. We were told one portion would serve 2-3 people but it came in a normal size plate, which would only serve a single person. It was Rs14,000 for 5 people. We were not even full. We ordered a seafood noodles which came with just vegetables and 5-6 tiny pieces of fish. The mixed fried rice had no taste. Both chicken and prawn dishes were bland. Drinks were over priced too. Tables were sticky and not clean. Would not recommend to anyone.

Delicious food at a nice beach front setting! Shan and Chamara made the evening especially memorable with their great service! Edit: came back a second time and it was even better! This time we got the famous lagoon crabs - one in Sara sauce and the other Singapore chili crab style. Both were pricey but worth the cost for a special occasion! Nalinda was amazing - he patiently helped us open up the crabs and organize a special table for my mother’s birthday. Thanks to Shan and Nalinda!

Went for lunch, ordered Seafood platter, Egg fried rice large, Black pepper pork small. And 2 beers. Received the rice 1st, it was very small portion and the pork is even smaller (later got to know in the bill that the waiter has messed up the order, Small rice instead Large and Large (they say) pork instead small. Then only came the beer, After thet seafood platter. Pork dish definitely had chicken pieces disguised as pork All items are very much overpriced. Total bill was Rs.11000 + for above few items. Not recommended and will not be returning either DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE 😔

The food is great and their service is great, serving size is mediocre but one day I visited the Dehiwala beach and there was no public restroom and I requested a waiter whether I can use their restroom and the waiter said "no" to my face since I didn't have a seat reservation or a purchase at that time. They don't even have simple hospitality. I was very much disappointed and I regret being their customer. Will never visit this place ever again. Again, their service is "ONLY" great when you buy something. Liquor prices are overwhelming compared to what the competitors offer.

Superb place located by the beach of Dehiwala. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and outdoor seating could be arranged as per your preference upon request. The panoramic view of the beach and ocean provides a perfect setting to dine as well as drink. They have have wide range of food and beverages in their menu. Their food is delicious and well prepared. Portion sizes are quite decent and filling. Staff is attentive and helpful. Prices seems reasonable. One of the prominent and recommendable places around the area.

I had a lovely time at the station restaurant, aptly named as it is a few meters away from the railway tracks. The restaurant has a beautiful view as it's on the beach and you can easily spend an entire afternoon at this place. The seafood was excellent. The ambiance is okay. Booze is expensive and so is the food. The place is overly priced.

Really the location is great with sea view .probably the service is good.Food is delicious, one of the best preparations in Colombo but the amount is seems to be moderate. Most of the waiters are good. few waiters reserve places without booking too.The deal is difficult with them to get the good places. Once a waiter said , “this place not allowed to sit.” But after an hour somebody was given that place.Really disappointed.

Sorry to say this the place looks nice, but the food, service, size of portions are so low. The menu prices are just as equal to a 5 star hotel but not reasonable for the price. The portions were so small. We a crowd of 12 people were there, our bill was 41,000 rs.

I had a delightful lunch experience at The Station Restaurant & Bar on 41 Wasala Rd, Colombo. The ambiance was peaceful, creating a perfect atmosphere for a midday meal. The food here is not only delicious but also impressively quick to arrive. Within just 15-20 minutes of placing our order, our dishes were served piping hot and beautifully presented. The portion sizes for dishes like soup and rice were quite generous, offering great value for the price. I decided to try the Seafood Grill, which had a fantastic taste. However, there was a bit of a discrepancy in portion size. Our server mentioned that it would be enough for four people, but in reality, it seemed more suitable for two. This made the Seafood Grill feel a tad overpriced. In conclusion, my overall experience at The Station Restaurant & Bar was enjoyable. The only minor setback was the relatively high-end prices. Despite this, I would still recommend it for a pleasant dining experience.

Went for a family dinner. Good beach access. Good sizzling pork, an okay Mojito, okay garlic chicken. Very Sub par seafood rice and a too soggy chopsey Rice. Totally overpriced. Not worth the money. May be good for a drink, bite and a smoke. But even the drinks seems over priced. Service was good. Good recommendation of the menu items and the food was served well. Ambiance was good. Exceptional food, service and ambiance. Special shout out to Duminda who was very attentive and did his best to ensure my family got the famed Sri Lankan crab experience. We dined there two nights in a row and enjoyed both meals immensely. It’s a really good place to hang out by the beach in the evenings.

Very average food. Surprisingly, crab was not on the menu, except in the form of a soup. The Black Pepper Pork we ordered was more "pork in black bean sauce and pepper" than what the menu suggests. I do not see any reason to revisit this eatery.

Even me, a really critical person, have to give a big thumbs up to this restaurant. Huge live blue lagoon crab , wild caught, we have luck to share a 1.6kg one . It’s not cheap , but definitely worth the quality if you are a picky eater like me. We chose the Sri Lanka curry style , strong, spicy , if you could handle it. But don’t go with Singapore Chili style , the sauce will take over the sweet flavour of crab. Go for rice instead of bread, they offer good rice . As for the prawn , big , prawn. Had visited the place 2 weeks ago on a Saturday morning. The place was deserted. Beers are Rs 600. Handaloo was Rs 980 and a pack of Gold leaf 12s was 1580. Unbelievable rates for a place like that. Nothing special. Too expensive compared to the neighbouring places. The service was poor.

When we placed the reservation we were told that the happy hour was applicable, but once we got there they informed us its is not available. Everything is overpriced. Probably why it didn't have a lot of people. An old arrack bottle was more than 5. 2k.which is 1. 8k in the normal market. Food tasted ok, (only reason to give 2 stars) but HBC wasn't good since it was soggy and oily. Portions were a joke. Not sure who the owner is, but it's evident that they are trying to catch up the lost revenue due to covid in the most unreasonable way. Unless you have money to waste never plan an outing in this mediocre pub. Wouldn't ever recommend it to anyone and personally will never visit this place.

Found the food somewhat ok during my last visit yeterday. Though standards have dropped drastically. On my first visit I tried their hot butter cuttlefish. It was fabulous. Moist and taste was super. This time when I tried it, it was hard as rubber. Service was pathetic. Perhaps it was a Friday. In any case, items ordered were brought one at a time. The garupa ordered never came, though the waiter assured us that it will be served in 5 min....... eventually after finished dinner with what ever was served, the garpua was yet to come. Acoustic music was loud. Singers were pretty decent but the sound system could have been crancked a bit low so that people could hear each other on the table. My first experience a few years back as first class, but after yesterday's visit........ I wouldn't rate it that high. However the ambiance near the beach is awesome.

Beautiful location for a restobar. Very inviting and friendly staff who follow all the covid safety procedures. There is a wide variety of drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. I had banana and strawberry juice which was delightful. Food is delicious and the brownie with ice cream for dessert just made it a complete deal. There is trans and reggae music around 8ish but it's not too loud or intrusive. You can walk on the beach and hear the train passing by every now and then. Truly a unique spot in Colombo.

Place is good but over priced. The first beer mug they gave was cracked and they never apologized, just changed the mug. The service they provide cannot be recommended.

Went out with the family and we absolutely loved the place. The staff were really nice and friendly, always around when we needed them. Sahan was very helpful and we apreciated that he is very knowledgeable about whats on the menu. Something thats very important when working in the food industry. Every dish we tried was very tasty and perfect. You actually feel like you are eating home cooked food. Wish we could thank the chef for a lovely meal. We will definitely be coming back. But this time for the crab.

Extremely slow service, and little on the menu was available - food took an hour and a half to arrive (fried rice, fried calamari, noodles) and were extremely underwhelming. The first waiter couldn't have cared less (hard to flag down, disappeared for ages, refused to discuss allergy information) but the second waiter was much nicer, and did his best despite the food taking almost the whole night. The passionfruit drink was really good. Access to beach is lovely, but a faint sewage smell from the canal next door.

We enjoyed a delicious dinner and observed a beautiful sunset at the same time. We had a cocktail while overlooking the sea and the sunset. We then enjoyed the crab soup. It was good, and served within a few minutes. After that we ordered an XL crab, Sara style. The gravy was spicy and very delicious. There was enough for the both of us in one crab. The waiter was very observant, and helped at all times. He offered suggestions on how to open the crab, and even cracked some for us. We can highly recommend the restaurant for the good food and fine service.

I Visited this lovely restaurant with my family right before my flight to Canada. The hospitality was awesome! Sam Fernandez and his team treated us with care and made some fantastic recommendations for food and drinks! We had the opportunity to try out the their signature cuttlefish dish and crab curry with pol Sambal! I should say it was top notch! Next time I visit Srilanka I will definitely go back to this restaurant! P.S: The live band was pretty good! The breeze, the music and food made the experience very special!

Absolutely amazing place. i've been here several times and have not been disappointed. the service and the food is amazing. the price may be a bit on the high side, but the quality of the food and service made for it.

To start off, look at the attached image of the bill (or whats left of it). I have been to The Station on many occasions, but this time it was the worst experience ever! The food was bland, no taste, too oily and worst of all, mini quantities. When the bill came, it was jaw dropping to see the total with a huge tax slapped on it....I can only ask 'For what?' I spent Rs. 10,183.25 on this utterly ridiculous meal for 2 which wasn't worth half that price. I think I enjoyed the beer much better than what was cooked. Management, this one is for you. Creating this type of cheap skate antics won't help at all. You are just cheating your customers. After all there is more than enough competition on that section past your restaurant and options are in plenty to choose from, it's only a matter of time before you'll be losing customers like never before. I for one am not recommending this place or visiting ever again. Oh by the way, its not just the Wasala road place, one of my friends had the same experience of bland tasteless and expensive food when they purchased lunch at your Nawala branch as well. That goes to show that you have really dropped in your standards. Let me finish off with this, just two days ago, I spent 10K on a meal for 8 people in another restaurant and we had more than enough to eat and drink. Even if you leave out the cost of the beers, still your prices are way too high! I for one feel very cheated and thats why I thought of putting down this post to let others know as well. I recommend keeping away from this place until a clear difference is noted at some point. Hope this post helps to do just that.

Good atmosphere!! Food also very good and staff friendly! I tried hot butter cuttlefishes and mixed mushroom Chinese style. Very delicious!!! Fresh juices are great. You should visit this place😍
