Overall good food, service and ambience. We ordered noodles, papaya juice and pineapple juice which were very good and tasty. Special mention for the sago with sweet corn desert. It was super delicious. Prices can be above average.

Delicious and authentic Thai food! Absolutely love their red and green curry. Staff is courteous and helpful Good ambience but it can get crowded so it's best to make a reservation.

If I could give this place a minus star rating I would!! SLOW service & many staff who don't seem to understand the concept of good service to the level they bill themselves. This is the service level I would accept from a no star hotel. But for a group of hotels that advertise an above average experience this was far from that. If I start, with menus. They seem to believe technology for the sake of technology is the in thing.. With QR code menus everywhere. Apart from if they are required due to covid regulations I find them the most inconvenient and unergonomic way to have a menu... Having been given a single menu between 7 people and asking for a further, then even after asking if everyone at the table could please have a menu each, having another single menu brought with no explanation... is beyond bad service. I asked specifically if they were short of menus or if it was due to covid restrictions but no answer... So I assume not.. In fact half way through reading the menus a waiter came over and asked if he could take one away.... When we eventually gave the menus back, two immediately went to another table without cleaning (there goes the covid excuse) and one went back on a pile of menus... So no shortage either. This was the start... Then the drinks took and extraordinary amount of time to arrive... The restaurant was not busy... Even after asking if the bottle of water could come first as a person in our group was thirsty, it took too long. The food came quickly, but I'm assuming most of that has been pre-cooked judging by the fact all the dishes were a little beyond warm and not piping hot. The taste? Mediocre. Acceptable, but nothing to write home about. The desserts were probably the only thing that was pretty good... But also took a long wait! The coffee btw, is disgusting. There are many places in Colombo with far better food at this price point. Try those. Don't try here. To be clear, a few years back this place and hotel were really good. Not anymore!

Honestly the food wasn't that great as per my Singapore friend who went to this place with me. For me, the food was good. The waiter who served us was very friendly with the foreigner but not with me, the local guy. I find it very rude and not nice for a 5 🌟 restaurant. Very bad experience. I'm not going to explain what exactly happened there but the Management should teach the staff no matter who comes, the customer is king. Im not taking my guests there again.

The food is really amazing and filled with flavor. A wide range of cocktails which are great! The service was on point! The only downside would be the the food being a little pricy. But absolutely worth the visit! 💯

I visited Royal Thai at Cinnamon Lakeside for dinner today after a long trip. While the staff was friendly and professional, and the food was delicious, I had a mixed experience. I was disappointed with the dress code and pricing. Despite requesting a table with a nice view, I was told they had a dress code but could seat me elsewhere. I totally understand the staff's perspective. It made me question whether it's time for Cinnamon, as a Sri Lankan brand trying to go global, to reconsider some of its policies. I've traveled to many hotels and resorts worldwide and felt that Cinnamon's approach was somewhat old school in this regard. It's worth noting that the food was delightful, with some of the best Thai cuisine in Sri Lanka. The natural flavors in dishes like tom yum were a highlight. However, the pricing is on the higher side. I suggest considering discounts for Hoteliers or hospitality staff. Overall, my visit had its ups and downs, and your experience may vary.

The restaurants staff is professional and really helpful. Good table service. The restaurants is maintained properly and good ambiance in inside.

Visited Royal Thai after a long time just to try some quality thai food. Prices have gone up by 3 times. Food was tasty but portions have become really small. Not worth for the prices at all. Seafood rice is priced at around 4500 with taxes. Would be sufficient only for 1 person. They should really consider at least to increase portion sizes for the surprisingly increased prices.

Our experience at the restaurant tonight 25/02/22 was very disappointing especially since it was a special occasion for my husband and I. The food was good however we felt that we were totally ignored all night as we had to always get the attention of the waiters to proceed with our ordering. Guests who came after us were given very attentive service, which we found quite bizarre. Having complained to the manager we felt he wanted to give us a free dessert to cover up the issue. I will not recommend this restaurant as you managed to ruin my special night

Great place in Colombo to get some Thai food. Good service and nice ambience inside the Lakeside hotel. Good portions and quality . Prices on the high side. Lunch for 2 was almost 10k with 1 drink each, 1 appetiser, one rice and 1 curry.

Really disgusting food offered on their take out. Can’t call this food Thai at all since there’s not a single authentic Thai ingredient. Egg and chocked fried rice, deep fried calamari chunks, dry chicken wings. Cream caramel for dessert! How can you call Thai food? The chef and the whole establishment should be ashamed of ripping off customers with left over food. Did I mention the food is tasteless! Smalls like bad oil. Very disappointing.

My self and my wife were celebrating a memorable occasion. We booked our table for 19.30 today the 25th February 2022.. The service by the two managers and staff were absolutely appalling. Our plates were not cleared for forty minutes as they were paying all their attention to the other tables completely ignoring us. I summoned one of the two managers to highlight this fact. Even so no attempt was made to clear our table in order for us to order the desert. No action was taken even after a further thirty minutes that I summoned the same manager to ask for the bill after cancellation of the desert.He then brought us two fruit salads of his choice unapologetically along with the bill. Action by these two managers were deliberate in my and my wife’s opinion ruining a perfect evening. I am an long time investor in the Cinnamon brand. The treatment we received was the worst in all those years. The food is acceptable but the service is of a very low standard showing the managers manipulates favouritism over their customers ,very obvious to everyone that’s I spoke to tonight. Please avoid this place to save your self ruining a perfect evening!!!The service is one star for a five star hotel restaurant! Shameful!!!

Amazing taste, signature flavor and very creative presentation! We ordered the Pineapple rice along with the Thai Red chicken curry. Needless to say, the flavors were amazing..this is a must try for Thai food lovers. A special mention to the Pineapple Rice..its full of unique flavors and the portions were very generous. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Would recommend Royal Thai to anyone for any occasion

We had a great meal at the Royal Thai.. we've been before and they are consistent with the quality of their food. All of us really enjoyed the meal, the service was very good, a good balance of attentive but not in your face. The decor hasn't changed much but is still tasteful.. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Great Thai food at the Cinnamon Lakeside hotel. Food came out quickly, great flavors, not too sweet, as can often be the case with Thai food, and big portions.

Sometimes hotel restaurants can fall short compared to eating outside the resort - but that’s definitely not the case with the Royal Thai restaurant - was absolutely delicious food! We went there because we’d just come off a long flight and we were so impressed with the wonderful meal we had there. Big portions, great tastes with fresh herbs and spices & amazing choice of dishes. Along with excellent service and very food prices - we were super happy with our choice. Well done everyone and we’ll be back when we visit again. Highly recommend.

If your looking for some authentic Thai cuisine in Srilanka this place is a must, the food was amazing and the portion sizes were also very reasonable, we ordered like 2 rice dishes 2 noodle dishes and 2 chicken dishes and the total came out to be close to 24k, there were 3 of us and we were more than full at the end of it. Their staff is super polite and well mannered.

Went to a dinner on 6th October 2022. Staff service was excellent. Dishes were tasty. You can ask for menu of Chinese restaurant and they'll serve Chinese food in Royal Thai too. I would recommend asking for Chinese menu since this expands the selection. Had a good experience and will visit again.

This is a place where I really loved it to go for Thai food. The last time I visited, whist the portions and the service at the place was good, the food just didn't have the Thai flavours. The food just didn't taste Thai! Being a speciality Thai restaurant, I think this is a major drawback. That's the reason for the 4 stars. Royal Thai really needs to work on this aspect very fast.

Royal Thai was always one of my favorite places in Colombo. The ambiance and the atmosphere have perfectly been designed to experience a real Thai meal. The new manager was super friendly and staff was quite professional at their work. I ordered Red curry Chicken and seafood lemon rice which tasted great..! The last time I visited with my friends, we ordered cashew chicken, battered calamari as chasers. For a dinner without drinks it will be approx. 3000 LKR per person and with local spirits approx. 4,500 LKR with dinner. Highly recommended for dinners with Family and friends. 🥂

One of the best restaurants in Colombo. If you need to taste real thai food, this is the place to visit. Prices are very reasonable. One main meal would suffice for two people. Not only Thai, if you need Chinese meals ask for the chinese menu too. Both are delicious
