Delicious meal. Really appreciate how quick the service was. Dine in order. We ordered Pepper Mutton and Miui Mixed Noodle along with Sweet Corn Chicken Soup. Little bit expensive but satisfying food. This restaurant is one of the authentic Chinese restaurant operating since 1995.

Long standing chinese restaurant in Colombo. Has maintained standard of food and delivers value for money. Portion size is good. We ordered 88 seafood fried rice, black pepper pork and hot butter cuttlefish. Will definitely return for more!

This is my stress reliever Chinese restaurant. Whenever I'm stressed and I want to eat good food I always come here and eat their flavorful hot buttered cuttle fish. You must try it.

The location is hidden and still on the main road. There was car parking at the time we went as the offices next to it was closed. The waiters were very good in recommending a balanced mean, curries and sides. We had about 7 dishes. And the food was very good. They had a separate area to eat and smoke at the same time. Prices are reasonable for the portion.

The food is good. However it's quite pricey compared to other restaurants of the same type. The small portion is basically 6 pieces of meat, the large portion is 8 pieces of meat, so ordering a small portion is more economical. This place is always crowded - use the upstairs dining area for a quieter meal.

Food and service is excellent. The atmosphere needs a little improvement. Overall 9/10

Food was absolutely amazing here. Came twice and wasn't disappointed at all. The young lady who took our order was recommending their signature dishes and everything was awesome.

I have been dining the restaurant many times but in recent times their quality of food has drastically gone down. Spent nearly 8500k for the dinner today, but left the restaurant with regret. Dried fried rice and not tasty at all. Also hot battered cuttlefish portion was too less and we could count the number of pieces in it. Not worth at all for the price. Though the atmosphere is not that great we have been going there because of their food quality and taste. But now that’s also gone. Really disappointed

As I’m writing this review, I’m finding it difficult to remember any highlight of the meal, mainly because there was NONE !! The food was mediocre AT BEST, and the flavours purported on the menu did not prevail in any of the dishes. After ordering a vegetable, beef, cuttlefish, fish, crab and prawn fried rice ; these are some of my grievances about the food. -the vegetable stir fry was so underwhelming, no variety in the vegetables. -the Singapore Chilli crab was tiny! with barely any meat on the crab…a waste of $5,700 rupees in my opinion! -when I first saw the “prawn” fried rice, I thought that their had been some mistake in placing my order because I couldn’t seem to spot any prawn present in the rice. When I ate the rice, it tasted exactly like a vegetable fried rice. -all of the dishes portions were small (even though I ordered large for majority of the dishes). My suggestion : you can find tastier, more authentic places. The standards have dropped significantly from the last time I was here, now the food is tolerable (at best). I find it incredibly hard to believe that others are raving about the food in the posts below me because it all felt so disappointing and lacking in some way or another. Not particularly amazing, but not absolutely disgusting either ; it’s just lacklustre.

I like the Chinese dishes very much, as good as in Malaysia. Will eat here often in my month long stay in Colombo

As 88 customers for years its dad to see only a few old faces can be seen but All are so obliging and nice food is good but one day in a take away I didn’t see the quality I saw when dining there so that was sad otherwise Super Like the food😃

Went recently in November 2022 and as usual food was excellent but the quantity seemed less and the prices very high. Mixed Special rice, chicken dish, cuttle fish, beans, sizzling bean curd and a crab omelette ALL SMALL portions cost Rs. 11,600.00. This was for 2 people.

Food was delicious. Compared to a lot of other Chinese places in colombo thier food tasted more of authentic Chinese sauces/spices than msg. I stuffed myself and did not have any msg hangovers later on. Atmosphere is hood and the service was good.

Food quality is so low. Tomato Sauce was mixed with water, sizzling pork was just a curry. There was no sizzle in the sizzling pork. Customer service was also quite unsatisfactory.

Please don't fall for online rating and order. It's going to be a waste of your money. I ordered 2 fried rice pacs along with hot butter cuttlefish through Ubereats. Non of the potions were up-to standard in taste or quality. They have provided a tiny amount of chilli paste for both pacs and no taste of egg or chicken in the rice. Hot butter cuttle fish didn't have its essence either. I mean I spent about 7k on this meal and all I get is tasteless food. At this point I dont mind paying more if the meals have some form of taste. I have my usual place yet I wanted to try a new place and I ordered and it was a waste of my money. I love food and I have never written such a negative review on any place but this because these people are not here to provide a service rather to rip you off. Extremely disappointed!

Superb Chinese foods, good place for office party & family dinner

Visit non other than this place to taste authentic Chinese Szechuan cuisine, went there yesterday after quite a long time, the belly pork, mutton stew, sizzling tofu, hot butter cuttlefish and the Indonesian style rice noodles with fish curry was so tasty and the taste hasn't changed a bit, keep up the good work guys.... Love their quick service as well

I ordered food last week. Prawns were soft. No smell or odd taste. But, we were too scared to eat it. The quantities have reduced and the prices are high. I am never coming back again

Used to be one of my favourite plc with good food. Quality of food has deteriorated to unimaginable level. Ordered a shrimp fired rice, pepper beef and a hot butter cuttlefish. Absolutely plain rice with too much msg to induce the flavour. Sad to see such a good restaurant taking a wrong turn simply for profits.

Food tastes good, though you may not find anything unique in the food. Prices are mid range. Serving time is quick and service was good. Parking is limited and can be an issue during peak times since it's on a private lane that includes a school / university and an IT company. Security is very helpful and courteous. The place is popular among the mainland Chinese visitors and tourists as well as local residents. A core part seems to be businessmen in nature. A generator is there to provide electricity during power cuts.

One of the Best Chinese restaurants available in Colombo, 88 and Xilaton both restaurants are highly recommended. been dining at 88 for many years now. Still a great place to dine in

Staff and Management are very accommodating and helpful. We had to go there lunch (and refuge) after being in the fuel queue for 3 hours. Food was good, staff was super accomodating and very solicitous. Food was brilliant as always. Thank you so much!

Good/tasty food and can get unique dishes that are unavailable at other places. It's BYOB and a it's consistent with good food. Dated deco and it's been same for a good 20 years or so. Overall an expensive place for food and they charge a major premium for grocery store items such like bottled soft drinks..

Never disappoints. An array of Chinese specialty food coupled with quick service regardless of how busy they are. They are general consistent with food quality so it's the place to head for your Oriental food fix. Strongly recommend their specials menu - usually has some unique flavors.
