I went with few friends and their service was so poor 😬 food was good but not worth the price. They provided us dirty glasses to drink 😕 ----- UPDATE ---- The owner falsely accused us for puting this review and according to him he can post in socialmedia accusing us as a revange for giving a honest review about their service. First the so called owner blocked us and deleted our comments to prove this is wrong and after that we complaint to the Cinnamon Gardens police and then only he removed the post. Not worth even a single star 😬 FYI 1)If this is a fake review why should i use my real profile, 2) and even my google timeline proves I ve been there. 😂 3) We have all the proof with the dine in bills 😁 Plese note that we have been exploring foods and drinks all around the country and this is the worst experience 😬 really disappointed. (EDITED) Located in kolpity and there is parking for about 4cars. Wasn't crowded when we went there and looked kinda sad. They lacked the cafe vibe. Food was OK, not great or not bad, just OK! Drinks and deserts are lovely. Must the Smoothie bowl! Limited seating. They did not have most of the things on the menu and that was a bummer. And also they add 10 percent to the total bill for service charge, NO TAXES! Over all the cafe was OK. Ofcourse there are better cafes in that area but its kinda different.(I edited the review after being pointed out that there are no taxes, I read the menu wrong, My bad)

We had our wedding party at Nuga as it has one of the loveliest outdoor settings in the heart of colombo. It is a house which has been converted to a cafe/event location. It has ample parking inside and on the road, only outdoor sitting is possible for about 120 comfortably. There are restrictions with music since it's in a highly residential location, so having a big or DJ is no point. Jazz, acoustic music setting is ideal. If you are getting dressed there's not much amenities arranged even though there is a dedicated room for it. The staff was very helpful, friendly and more than welcoming to everyone. Since they outsource the tables and chairs, much attention was not given to the cleanliness of the chairs and tablecloths. luckily we had a big table arrangement to cover it. Lastly the food was absolutely horrible. It was served cold, no taste or flavor, chicken was just tiny pieces, dry garlic bread and the quality of it was very poor. We had asked for a menu change which wasn't done either. The guests didn't complain, but the food was refilled in time so it seemed like the food was running out. The desserts let's not go there. Overall it was good, but food was a major let down.

Wouldn't necessarily recommend for a late night event due to understandable restrictions of loud music and sound (Which the management seems to intentionally skip over when briefing about the venue) and the food was just downright bad. The chicken was too tangy, the fishcakes were dry and the food was cold and they smh don't even have proper catering kits to keep the food warm. Apart from all that the setting is calm and quite nice but that seemed to be the only positive take away from that place unfortunately.

Food is an 8/10 but then again it’s depending on your taste and preference. Service is a 5/10 where they are quite slow and at most time no one is around. Cozy and compact but there is more than enough breathing room for personal space. Bright with light inside, perfect for a date or to catch up with a few friends.

One of the worst restaurants I ever went. My mistake was not reading reviews on google before I go. Food tasted like garbage but costed like gold. Portion was also very small. They took too much time to prepare the order. They even keep their washroom locked. If we have to go the washroom we have to ask from a staff member & they will unlock it for us. Also the staff was creepy. They were staring at my wife all the time. Even from the kitchen. On the displays they say they have wifi for customers but when I asked they said they don't do that anymore. Everything about this place is negative. I don't have any good thing to say about this. If you are planning to go here or order from here then don't. You can see the other people also said the same things in the reviews.

Not sure what's going on there now, but it was pretty bad. Be wary, they seem to have put a "twist" on everything. We ordered the teriyaki chicken poké bowl and the chicken was burnt, like they were trying to get a bbq char going, but with teriyaki sauce. Photo included, you can see the chicken on the right. It was quite bad. Rest of the items were also strange. Drinks were warm, no ice, and watered down. This place used to be stellar. Now extremely wary of it.

Love the ambience of the place, specially the outdoor seating at night is really nice. Food is …. Okey (little bland) and on the pricier side, but can’t complain as basically you are paying an extra for the ambience. It’s definitely a place you should try, but I’m not sure if I’d return. Restaurant with a calm and quiet environment. Private parties can be taken in a separate space apart from the regular dine-in area. Staff is friendly and helpful. Food is below average and prices are quite high. Time taken for preparation of meals also high. Roadside parking and separate parking area is available.

Had a engagement party of my cousin here recently. The outdoor area is nice with the canopy and goes well with lights in the night. But that's just it. The service is mediocre. The food was a major letdown. They included a mutton lasagna in the menue and said they can't do that at the end and had to choose beef indtead. But the lasagna had no beef taste at all. It was filled with potatoes and kankun and did not see a lasagna sheet at all. Very dissapointing.

The service can be way better , the waiter couldn’t understand my order and couldn’t suggest anything that would help us to order the correct amount , and the worst part is there was a massive hole right next to where I was seated and I had to keep constant watch over my 4 year old from falling into it

Excellent location, ambience and facility. Food and drink have much to be disired. The Norwegian Salmon pasta I ordered was bland and looked sad. The Chocolate cake was dry and didn't seem fresh. As a result the food and service was such a let down to a beautiful setting.

One of the best places if you like to have a simple and elegant wedding reception. We were struggling to find a suitable place for us to have a simple garden wedding function in Colombo during the pandemic time. We are so happy to say that Nuga helped us to make our dream day a reality. As far as we know, we are the first couple to have a wedding at Nuga and we are so happy to say that they gave us more than we expected. Staff was really friendly and helpful in each and every way from the beginning to the very end. We specially give our thanks to Mr. Buddika, the coordinator of the event. They clearly figured out what we exactly wanted and gave their best service to us always. Food was awesome and they were flexible to amend the menu for reasonable prices. Nuga co-operated very well with other vendors like the florists, photographers, etc. Since the place is located in heart of Colombo, it was easy for us to work with other vendors. They let us use their garden decos as well. They have a spacious car park. We didn’t have to book the entire restaurant for the wedding. They catered all the guests with care. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Seems to have a focus on natural, healthy eating. I dropped in while I was waiting for an appointment. Has a nice airy atmosphere with lots of light. Staff are friendly. I saw another customer having hoppers at 11am, which was cool :). Nice menu with lots of interesting options. They get extra points for serving my iced tea with a paper straw.

My husband and I went here twice when we were in Colombo, we had been in Sri Lanka for just over a week and with gluten and dairy free meal requirements wanted to eat some fresh veggies and Western style food. We were a little disappointed by Nuga after reading the review because they were out of coconut milk, almond milk and this restricted the meal options. We did however enjoy the smoothie bowl for breakfast and had the sweet potato and chickpea bowl and the veggie grill for dinner. Reason for the 3 rating was that they had run out of key food items, otherwise it would have been a 4.

Yesterday I ordered two rice &curry packs..it's awesome. .All the curries are really tasty...I am highly recommend Cafe Nuga for rice and curry 👏

I've got the opportunity to book a table at Cafe Nuga a month back for a casual meetup with my business partners. From the moment we entered the premises, it boasted serenity within. To add to this, the staff was genuinely in love with what they did whether it be the simple greeting to serving or even pouring water to a glass, they took extra care and made sure everyone is happy and content with the service. Food was exceptionally good. we ordered few traditional dishes as well as contemporary plates they have come up with on their own and we were surprised at the quality and the freshness of every single dish that was delivered to us. our overall experience about Nuga has exceeded our expectations and has changed our purview about the standards of Sri Lanka's Hospitality arena. we would visit this place time after time and will recommend to anyone.

Not very pleased with the service took a fortune to bring a juice, definitely do not recommend. It definitely took over 25 mins and staff issue was not a problem because only 3 of us were the only customers and it took that long just to serve 3 juices.

Nice place for a quiet, healthy meal. Lots of vegan friendly options available, which is always a plus. Prices are quite reasonable for the location and quality of food.

We had a school reunion at NUGA Rosmead and I must say, it was magical! The venue was absolutely gorgeous and the staff were excellent in their service. The heads catered to our needs, from chairs to furniture, to even the waiting service as well. The food was very well organized and arranged in a beautiful manner. I must give a special appreciation towards the staff, Mr Dushanth and Mr Buddhika who managed to keep everything intact even after the event, as once our event was over, an unexpected rain started to fall. I would hands down give this place 5 stars. Recently celebrated my birthday at this place and everything was organized well. The decor was beautiful. The service was impecable. And the food was delicious. Would easily recommend to anyone planning to host a private dinner or function.

Beautiful ambience and location. Very nice outdoor setting. However the food was very much overhyped and under-delivered. Also, it took forever for us to be served despite less crowd.

Close to the Musaeus College, Colombo. Relatively quiet place compared to the urban surrounding. A well maintained old fashioned building. Excellent place for outdoor functions. Facilities available for indoor events as well.

Really want to like this place due to the setting but each of the 4 times I have been there, it has taken about 2 hours to get my food. Haven't seen any improvement over the last few months. Friends have reported similar wait times. I also find it slightly frustrating you can not order any of the Sri Lankan items in the garden area, but instead have to sit in the formal dining room in order to have access to those items. It seems like a strange segregation. Hope it improves as would really like to love the place!

30 min after ordering our bowls, the waiter told us that they didn’t have sweet potato, so we ordered potato instead. Another 40 min later, the bowls arrived. Unfortunately not only the portion size was disappointing, but all the ingredients were tasteless. The tofu not properly fried without any spices, the grilled pepper not grilled or cooked, mushrooms out of the can and so on. Moreover, it was the most expensive meal we had in one month Sri Lanka. The waitress apologized but we still paid the full amount for something we didn’t order. Juices were nice though and the dining area very fancy.

What a fantastic place, I have passed this cafe many times and finally decided to go on Friday. Proved to be a good decision real soon. From the welcome to the service to the ambiance, everything felt great! I want to specially mention the portion sizes are really generous and tastes incredible. Oh by the way did I mention they serve organic food? :) Franky given how centrally located this place is with great organic food, the prices are quite reasonable. I would definitely visit the place again and again and would recommend anyone who sees this to do the same :)

Is the atmosphere good? Yes, it is amazing and well maintained and a good place to dine in since its hard to find a relaxing & a serene place in the city. As a restaurant located in Colombo 7, we were totally disappointed by the quality of food. The appetizers were relatively alright compared to the mains. The main meals were really unsatisfying. Very bland taste and totally different to the description that's on the menu. We ordered chicken on a bed of mozzarella according to the menu, but when the dish arrived we were able to barely see mozzarella. Its really pathetic to see customers being misled by a very fancy menu in this case. Well, anyone would expect the best quality in food, especially with regard to this restaurant's location in Colombo 7. Is the price reasonable? We feel like we paid such a big amount for nothing but just the ambience. This is the first time we saw a menu with appetizers priced at the same amount as the mains. Very expensive with regard to the food's quality and quantity. Not worth at all. Would I attend it again? I don't think so, we would rather spend half the amount at a casual cafe in Colombo with great quality and taste. Is the service good? Very friendly and courteous staff that attended to our requirements promptly.

Please don’t go to this place. Food is soooo tasteless and oily. Ordered a Spanish prawns and they have used some old oil and it was disgusting. We had paella which had no taste and a tuna pasta which was nothing but a oily bowl of noodles. We ordered two mocktails and one was literally lime juice and other one was cold coffee. And don’t go to this place in the eve or night because this place is full of mosquitoes which will ruin your evening. The couple who were in the next table asked for a mosquito coil and the staff was nice enough to provide that 😂. Please don’t go

Had a gathering of 8 people in the room. Sides, mains most of the dishes we tried. Not too happy with the taste of the food or the texture of it. Presentation was good. Room was great. Great ambience, Great service. Anfaz was great to help us with everything. Menu needs a rethink i think. Not worth for the price we paid for the dishes. It is BYOB though

Have been coming here since they opened and actually used to really enjoy the food. However as of late the quality has dropped immensely. We ordered a hummus platter, and the hummus was sour and tasted stale. The drinks tasted like it had cordial even though they denied it when asked. Also, the chicken rottie dish was mediocre. The menu said it included cheese and chicken however, when the dish came there was only chicken. Overall significant drop in quality.

I have ordered a Kottu for delivery. It was good. However they haven't given instructions to the delivery guy to find the correct address. Following the google map location he has taken the package to the building in the other side of the road! Wasted time and effort to pick up the package.

Not sure about the bio part, as probably bio certificates are lacking in all of Sri Lanka. What i am sure is, that the food was very tasty, you have "European" or non spicy options, you also have vegan/ vegetarian options, service is impeccable and the place is tidy. The restaurant has air conditioning as well. A bit pricy though. Meal for 2 with coffees and desert, around 4000 rupees. The place charges extra for service as well. Recommendable experience overall.

Few days I happened to have the breakfast from here, food is really good. All the curries have the traditional taste which tastes exceptionally good. Packing has done in a very unique and attractive way.

I ordered a Fish Nuga Rice N Curry from Ubereats, it was super tasty. It contained basmathi rice, Ambarella curry, Dhal curry, 2 Fish pieces, Manioc White curry, Bitter gourd salad, Polsambol, nd boiled egg along with a Papadam. Invite all others to try out their meals and im definetely ordering other meals nd review in future. Nice place to hangout too! Btw, this is my friend's favorite place to dine out and when she was pregnant, i bought the Chicken Bowl with Garlic bread as this restaurant is the most reliable place that can serve a meal to any Pregnant ladies. They serve the best, healthiest, organic, clean and tasty meals! Try it out!

The most insipid food I have ever tasted. I hosted a party for 80 guests and was so embarrassed with the quality of food served. Don’t want anyone to endure such a bad experience. However, I want to mention the serving staff provided excellent service.
