The place is beautiful with a lot of different kinds of fish, However I wish that they could have been in a more open water sources than embedded fish tanks. There are few open water ponds and tanks where they have many colourful schools of fish swimming around refreshing and bringing a tranquility to the minds of the visitor whereas there's even a glass tunnel where the visitor can go in while small sharks can be seen swimming on top of us! The fish are labeled with loads of information that have an invaluable educational and scientific value where students can learn a lot about these creatures. There were some fish which are worth over LKR 500,000 and these can be even purchased at their shop near to the entrance or the parking where you can buy many different and colourful fish! The shop has many additional accessories, tools and decorations required for raising pet fish and building a complete fish tank. However, when I visited there, there were only 2 workers were at the shop and that was not nearly enough to satisfy the crowd there at the shop! Overall, it is quite fascinating but I always feel that it was quite the same all the way and they could have changed the way the tanks are arranged to bring it a bit novelty and a refreshment! I don't know that's how I feel and it was okay... aah also, there were some birds in there too like emu, peacocks and parrots! It was nice strolling around those lanes seeing how the fish react to you but sometime it saddening to thing that they are living in a small cage day by day till the death comes knocking! There was one tank also with just only 1 fish and that creature look heartbroken! That is so depressing!😥💔 Anyhow, it was quite pleasant that evening! The price of a ticket is LKR 350.00 (if I am not mistaken)😋 I think I covered up all what I have seen and thank you for reading! Have nice one! Bye!👋

It was a beautiful place to visit. Had a large collection of freshwater and saltwater fish. But compared to the past, the amount of fishes and fish varieties are lower. Underwater tunnel also had many more in the past but not so much now. Just couple of small sharks and few other fishes. But i highly recommend you to go and visit here. Still is one of my favorite places to visit. I hope that they will increase the varieties of fishes in future... P.S - River safari was fun...

Went there on a weekday and it was not crowded at all. This place has fresh water fish, marine fish, small sharks, stringrays and birds and also a man made river safari with lots of birds and unique fishes. There are few packages you can buy from the entrance and the full package is fully worthy. Full package includes aquriums, bird zone and river safari. Also there is air rifle shooting range and a canteen. Much recommended for everyone

Unique nature park in Sri Lanka with many varieties of fish and birds to be seen. There is a water safari, which is a 15min ride, showcasing the various types of fish and birds near various famous rivers across the world. There is an underwater aquarium, which is an amazing 30ft structure, with sharks and other fish overhead. The bird park is home to many species of birds, with information boards detailing each species. Overall a very good experience. Could do with more upkeep and maintenance.

Loved the place a lot. They have a big area with a variety of fish along with a description board that sates the origin and various other details related to them. The bird park is a biggest attraction since we can step inside the cage and feed them sunflower seeds. They have a variety of birds as well and the experience was really worth the cost. There is a canteen when you reach the end, so you don't have to go looking for food anywhere else. The small children's park next to the canteen is an ideal place for kids to have some one. There are is an open sitting area facing the water front if you want a small rest.

One of the best place to travel with your friends and family. The place consist hundreds of rare fish and birds collected all around the world. You can also have nice and unique experience form there underwater tunnel and river safari. The experience is worth for the money that spend. Highly recommend specially for the peoples who love fish and birds.

It was much better in early days. Now it's not worth for the price. Adult ticket costs 320/= LKR. All most all the Bird Cages are Dirty and smells bad. They have boat rides in their private pond. The pond is very ugly. It haven't cleaned in ages. But charges 100 LKR per person for the boat ride. The under water tunnel is the only satisfaction. They have lot of ongoing projects sinve 2020. Hope it will become much better after this year. Not reccomend to visit there on these days. Not worth for the price.

It has a large range of freshwater fish and seawater fish and there were large number of foreign species also. Probably it should be the largest aquarium in sl.This is the only place that you can find a underwater tunnel in Sri Lanka and it was amazing. Well maintained but some animals looks like depressed.There were some rare fish species also. Child friendly. Birl park is not so attractive but various varieties of bird were there.

Had a marvelous experience with a kid and five elders. What an important place to visit. It rapidly developing now. It will be greater in future. Newly introduced water safari is another wooooooow experience.

There have a first South Asia’s first underwater tunnel. Full of sharks in the tunnel. This is the best thing in this water world. Second best thing in this place river safari. There have lots of kind of fishes in this aquarium. World first aviary themed river safari in this park. It’s started on 2022 September. Two hours is enough to spend there .

It's a great place for fish and bird lovers. I recently visited Water World Kelaniya, and it was an enjoyable experience. The full board package for 1100 per person includes access to the water tunnel, bird park, and the highlight, the water safari. I gave 5 stars just for the water safari. The water safari is a must-try, as it stands out among the other attractions. Keep in mind that they only accept cash, so be prepared. The cafeteria offers convenience, and the opportunity to feed birds three times a day adds a delightful touch to the overall experience. It's a great destination for a day out.

This place gives you a different experience with varieties of fish all around the world. They have around 30ft long tunnel also. We went there around 10 AM and there was a diving and feeding show in the tunnel. They have 2 types of tickets including simulation river safari and without that. I must say that safari is the most entertaining part there for myself. There is a cafeteria inside the premises as well. And also it's permitted to bring food from outside as well. The place is nice for kids also.

It will get really busy on weekends so it's better to come early. Perfect place for kids to enjoy and learn about birds and fishes. River Safari will be a great experience and you may definitely try that especially if you are traveling with kids. There is a cafeteria with decent food and a kids park also. There are a lot more functions you can enjoy but you have to pay in cash only.

They have make a great effort to make sure that animals get a home like places.. Saw several things to improve. Some birds are alone. May be their partners have passed away. One kocatoo was holding its own feathers by its leg. Too sad to watch. I think these stuff has to be addressed soon... Another thing is, birds cages have two layers. Good place, I guess it was recently renovated. Worth the entrance price (adult 400 and child 300). Good place for kids to educate themselves with the water animals and birds. There is a boat ride which will take you in a tour educating about different fish and birds in other continents. A little bit more color and guidance on the area would help the visitors

After a year of living in Colombo we discovered this wonderful place! A visit to the water world is a good way to spend a weekend with the whole family. This theme park includes a bird zoo, river safari and a small aquarium. There is also a recreation area with tables, a cafeteria, a playground and a shooting range on site. During the river safari, they give some educational information but we did not understand anything because the story was in Sinhala. Also inside the park there are small display cases showing bird eggs and feathers, which can also be educational for children.

Best place to spend half of the day with family and kids. There are a lot of varieties of rare fishes and birds. We can go for a 15-minute boat ride also, which is the exciting part. The entrance fee is 950.00 (including boat ride). 20m long under water terminal also there.

Water world is an aquarium which locate in Kelani, part of Colombo district. One of the best and famous aquarium in Sri Lanka. It is very close to the main highway road. It contains Long distance of views with variety of fishes. Local and fishes from other countries also are kept there. Showing of fish tanks and pools start from the entrance. Tanks are designed in different styles. Can experience the different views. Underwater tunnel is the best design there. It is short tunnel. Can feel the underwater experience. There are turtles, crocodile, sea snake and sea lives. Well oraganised pathway to see the tanks and well oraganised stops for the rest and refreshment. It is a worth place to spent the time with kids and family. And also it is very useful place for the school trips. Tourists also visit here l. There is another area for birds also. It is in the end of the pathway within the water world. Tanks and pools around the way in the water world creat cool atmosphere there. It takes around three hours to see the whole creation in the water world with some rests. During my trip to the Colombo area, visit to the water world was valuable and unforgettable one.

Probably one of the largest aquariums in the country. They have a large variety of both fresh and saltwater fish. However, quite a few saltwater fish seems to have died off, likely during the pandemic and havent yet been replaced. They also have a collection of birds. But the cages are very small and some animals look ill and poorly taken care of. Overall, worth the entrance price.

Water world is a great place to spend time with your friends,family, lover or any other.Parking areas available on the opposite side. There is a bird park in here too. But the bird cages were not cleaned and smelly. There is a small children park and boat riding pond also. Pond is covered with leaves and dirt looks bad. Maintainance is very low these days. Some fish tanks are not cleaned properly and some fish varities were not inside tanks. But the vibe is so good. All the details of rare fishes mentioned in the areas. You can get some time and observe all the fish tanks. It will take around 2-3 hours. This place is calm shady quiet and beautiful. There is a beautiful underwater tunnel. But that also not cleaned and tank is covered by dust. A small cafeteria is inside the ground. You can buy snacks and beverages from there.There was a shop nearby which is useful for fish tank makers. Pay attention for the maintainance!

One of the best place to spend your time if you are near around Kadawatha - Kelaniya area. This place is a collection of 🐦 & 🐟. (Birds collection & Aquarium) They offer free parking and entrance ticket fee for local adult is Rs. 350/=(LKR). In the beginning of our tour, we experienced 🐟 feedings. (They provide 🐟 foods to feed the 🐟 - free of charge) Then we can watch different different kinds of 🐟. Some kinds have more value, some kinds are very costly even they have some rare kinds.This 🐟 collection complete with a Under water tunnel and they said it is the first underwater tunnel in the south asian region. After the aquarium, you can enter to the 🐦 collection. In this section also we can find different kinds of 🐦. They have shops inside the premises to have foods and there is a place to enjoy the meals. Boat Riding ⛵ is another activity that we can experienced here. (⛵ Riding fee - Rs. 100/= per person for 15 minutes). They also conduct 🐦 feedings & underwater diving shows (which are i never experienced in here) Note - There are some small toys shops out side the premises

The underwater tunnel is very small, with only few sharks. Other than that the safari bird park and aquarium is very nice. If you do with 2.30 to 3pm you can feed the birds for free.

The boat ride was fantastic for kids, they saw various birds indigenous to America, Congo, India, Australia, beautiful fish throughout the boat ride. As you enter you can feed the birds In a cage a wonderful experience for kids, thereafter you walk through a well maintained aquarium, birds and a decent playground. Kept clean, really good effort to provide such an attraction for those who line in the suburbs. Easy to locate, you can travel via highway zero traffic.

It really has lot of imported varieties of fish and birds. Must go place for children. Each exhibit has a description and would be a great learning experience for children. There is a underwater tunnel aquarium about 10m in length. It's quite fascinating for a child. We covered the place in about 3 hrs but you certainly can spend more than that walking about and seated by the Kelani river.

I have been to world several times before. But I would say this time it wasn't a boring dayout rather it turned to more exciting because of the new feature added to it. This is a river safari which I think is rare in sri lanka. It was a new exciting experience and the rest of the place was also exciting. Moreover, there are varieties of fish, birds and waterfalls to be seen during the safari.

You can feed them and u can buy ostrich eggs for Rs. 1000. 🔴 In River safari - You can enjoy a boat ride🚤 about 20 mins. In there you can experience different environmental systems🏞️ in the world with the birds and fish living there. Other than these, there is a shooting area with an air rifle🎯, a cafeteria🥪 and a park near to kelani river.

If you plan to go to the piranha feeding you should be on time since they only feed them what looks like one chicken leg.Amazing creatures, great music, great sound, interesting descriptions. Don't miss Zungaro fish, play with electric catfish, hand feed the poi.It's an amazing aquarium, complete with an underwater tunnel. The prices for adult is LKR 350, children above 3, LKR 120.( not really a tourist attraction) We went on a poyaday, around midday so it was relatively crowded, and hot. It was still quite enjoyable. I would recommend to take water and a snack if going with young kids, but they have a shops that sells fast food(noodles, fried rice) n chips,ice cream,drinks etc. It also has a bird park and a playground. Parking can be difficult on a crowded day, had to park roadside.Overall if you time to spend or think to take your kid somewhere better place. This place was more extensive then I expected it to be and we spent an enjoyable couple of hours here. The kiosk has reasonably priced food too. The main complaint is that the exhibits often bear no resemblance to what is on the sign for the tank. Though on the plus side almost all have an english description.

Well, this place is great, and if you get a chance it would be great if you can go and check the place out. The wish are amazing and the way they've arranged the tanks really supports the experience, no distractions at all. However there are some, teensy tiny bit of faults with it hither and thither. One, some fish are in wrong tanks; the info. board above the tank shows something entirely different from what is in the tank, that is. But this of course isn't ALL the tanks, but three or four here and there. I know its hard to, perhaps change the tanks and stuff (I mean there are some humongous fish in some of those tanks) but that's their whole job right. The bird park is a bit disappointing, it looks like the poor creatures aren't in the happiest of conditions, and the layers of nets just don't support looking at them. HOWEVER, the tickets are at an affordable fee, and for that being able to see those amazing fish is just a great bargain itself. So, finally I'd say this is a must-visit. 😇

Most of exhibits are badly maintained and some enclosures have the same specicies multiple times. The fence are badly Structured and blocking the clear view. Need to improve a lot. There is no proper parking space available. Need to find our own parking space on the side of the road which has high risk. Not worth the money and time spent.

Loved the experience. Really nice place to spend the day with kids. Exotic aquatic species and loved the ride in which we saw sea sharks. Make sure to carry water bottles and handsantizers.

Needs maintaining bigtime!! Very cool place to chillout with family and friends. Beautiful birds and fish to experience.. Covid guide lines have to be imposed very much strictly here, I didn't see any type of control on that part

Amazing experience. You can watch many bird and fish species. Underground tunnel is short however this is the only such kind in Sri Lanka. There are limited water and play activities also. Good place to be with family.

My visit to Water World Kelaniya left me with mixed feelings. Despite the high entrance fee, the overall experience didn't quite match the expectations set by the park. Issues like overcharging at the canteen and a lack of basic amenities, such as the absence of straws for drinks, diminished the overall value. While the river safari and diverse fish exhibits offered enjoyable moments, disappointments like a smaller-than-advertised underwater tunnel and power outages in some areas took away from the anticipated grandeur.

Had one of the best times of my life at Water World. Really amazing displays at the aquarium. The crowd was a little excessive because it was the weekend but the facilities were plentiful to satisfy the needs of every visitor. Id like to point out the great staff who were supportive at the river Safari.
