We stayed at the Lake Lodge for one night. The staff were very pleasant and spoke great English. The rooms were clean and tidy with air conditioning and wifi. The hotel was in a good location to visit tourist attractions with a few dining options in the area as well.

Nice small hotel. Wont consider 4* coz lack of facilities. The lady frame looks scary especially those in the toilet. Imagine doing your business facing them. Room is spacious, service good and food nice. But was ill-informed about the dinner which was not included as the staff stressed need to inform them about the time for dinner. Also was stressed to order the drink or dessert. In the end the ice cream is more expensive then the beer!

The rooms are lovely, with big comfortable and spacious beds. The bathrooms (or wet room) is also spacious and well decorated, so it has a luxury feel. The hotel is small, so I'd suggest this is more of a boutique hotel than a classic 4 star hotel. The reason for my review is the result of being left stranded on the morning of our departure, as we had a 4.45am check out, but no one was available. The gates were locked and our taxi was waiting outside. I had to walk around for 10 minutes banging on doors and finally someone came. This is not what you need when you have an early flight, as it caused me and my wife unnecessary stress. Also, we had been promised a breakfast to take away, as our booking was for bed & breakfast, but that was not provided. Hopefully this is an isolated incident, and that being the case I would have awarded 4 stars. If you have an early check out ensure the staff are fully informed, and you should be fine.

This is a great hotel. It is small and gets things pretty much spot on. Rooms are comfortable and modern and the food and drinks are great. The rooms downstairs have less light whilst the rooms upstairs open directly to the bar and restaurant. Not an issue as it's a quiet property so no noise problems. Staff are professional if not overtly friendly.

We stayed in the hotel for 1 night, but everything was perfect! The room was very comofortable with modern design. Everything in the hotel was new and built with high quality. The restaurant for dinner was amazing, Arun the man in charge was very helpful and polite. The food was gourmet and very very tasty!

For us, the hotel location was perfect, close to the airport from which we return to the UK. The room was clean and the breakfast was very tasty. It is an excellent place to stay for one night.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Lake Lodge. The place is very well designed, including very interesting artworks. We could explore Colombo while staying away from the hustle and bustle. The staff was very friendly and always willing to help. We were lucky to be served by Arun who was amazing. We would definitely come back next time we visit Sri Lanka.

We stayed here in August 2023, in the garden room and one other upstairs next to the bar. The entire hotel is very elegant and adorned with art. The garden room is very charming, the only minor negative being that the shower tray didn't drain very well. Breakfast was relatively modest in scale by the standards of Sri Lankan hotels but very pleasant, whilst dinner was excellent. Finally, the staff were lovely. A special mention to the chef and Arun, who very kindly whipped up a rather lovely surprise chocolate cake for my wife's birthday. I would definitely stay again.

Excellent arrangement and service. The owner is of immense help. The staff is very helpful and co-operative. The house is family friendly as well as party friendly. Good on price too, very reasonable.

Our room was very nice and clean. Be aware that a lot of the rooms are right next to the bar and restaurant area. We did not experience any inconvenience but I can imagine that this could be different when busy. Nice food (on the expensive side). The manager was very friendly and helpful, but some of the staff could have been a bit more friendly. When my wife ordered a long island ice tea, she got a judgemental reaction, which was uncalled for and a bit unpleasant for our last evening.

It has a great style inside rooms. Great fresh food and cooked well. The room came with limited drinking water and had no bar fridge to cool water. They also didn't like us using an outside tuk tuk to get us around.

Fantastic service and very nice breakfast with a good selection of different dishes! One of the staff was especially nice and informative, Mr Arun who helped us also with a lot of useful information about the country and what to do in the country. He even brought us a welcoming cake to celebrate our wedding last week :-)
