It's a little dark inside, but it's comfortable and cosy. There is also an outdoor table, so if the indoor space is stuffy, it is good to enjoy the exotic atmosphere at the outdoor table. Food and coffee is normal. But, if you’re a coffee and cafes lover, I recommend you to stop by.

This was my first visit on a Black Cat Cafe, with my mom. I would love to go here, because there have nice & big CAT WallArt. So that's the main thing I love that place to visit. Black Cat Cafe is pet-friendly cafe in Colombo. You have to sit in the outside section. And The food and the service was excellent. Staff was excellent, very attentive and friendly. Really I would love to come again.

My husband and I were staying in Colombo 7 for 2 nights and we had such a nice experience here on our first day that we came back the next day. Some dishes were not available due to the current situation in Sri Lanka but what they did have was fresh and tasty. The coffee was great. Prices were very reasonable. The waiter was very friendly.

The place has a nice vibe, we went in the day time, hope night time would be even better. Such a nice calm and quiet place to grab a cup of coffee and a sandwich.. and sit down to read your favorite book.. or to have a silent time. And bring your laptop to get something done here. The food and drinks were served on time and the quality was excellent. Food was something expensive but reasonable at the same time for the ambiance and quality .

Not too bad a place for decent coffee. We ordered double shot Americano and Cinnamon tea. Quite good quality coffee but in a wrong cup. One should have a proper coffee in a proper cup with handle (not a normal glass as it gets too hot to hold). It's a basic thing to learn about coffee in this tea country. We also ordered Peking roll which is tasty; the plus. Overall, not too bad a place at this B&B.

Had lunch with a friend yesterday. Menu is small but perfect, something for everyone. Service was awesome and chef Nicholas recommend vegan options on the menu that my friend enjoyed. Will be back definitely!

Not recommended. The place has impeccable vibes as a spot to meet up with a few friends and chill or to focus on work and while away a good afternoon/evening. The big letdown is the food and the coffee. Although the portion sizes were good, the food itself was not. We ordered pancakes, which were flat, had barely any cream or dressings and virtually tasteless. (Appox. 2200 per portion) The coffee tasted like it had been stirred with dust, and was similarly unpalatable - a clear indication that substandard coffee beans were used. (Approx. 600 - 700) The other drinks (ice tea and passion fruit juice) can only be rated mediocre. (Approx. 700) And our order of an egg dish with roasted bread was also disappointing. (Approx. 1900) We also ordered a cold chicken salad which turned out to be okay and the big English breakfast was the only big winner in the spread. (Not sure about prices) We also wanted to try other items but they we're all unavailable. A saving grace for the Cafe was their friendly and accomodating staff, so a definite star for them. However it is always the food that takes us back to any place and as that turned out to be completely unappetising AND overpriced it's safe to say we won't be going back.

Used to be my “go-to” cafe in Colombo. Their coffee used to be good. Now with new staff it has gone to dogs, like any other cafe. We pay a premium price to get quality food (coffee). I don’t understand why non of sri lankan cafes put any effort to have trained good baristas. Only employee does his job properly with a smile is Roy! Hats-off to him. I hope these new staff won’t ruin the place. Suggestions -get at-least one trained barista

I stayed on my laptop there for some time until they closed. 🫶 Super clean and aesthetically pleasing place, very calm and relaxing, they have books you can read too, along with some clothing for sale. A nice outdoor area too! 📍 The location is a bit out of the way for anything i was interested in, the service was fine too! 😃 💰It is a little on the pricey side! They do have a good selection of things, including vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options, however, for the accessibility of being able to work peacefully here makes it more worth it 😄❤️

Brunch all day, good coffee and fantastic chocolate cake! This took me to try this spot. In addition to the very courteous service from the friendly staff, the poached egg in combination with the beef in the Eggs Lonestar dish was also very tasty and a real eye-catcher! I really enjoyed the flat white. You can choose instead of milk to order with soy, coconut or even oat milk as alternatives. Pricewise it's already in the champions league but you get some great food and beverages for it. Paid 5500rp for a juice, flat white, brunch and cake.

I recently had a good time at the Black Cat Cafe. It was a peaceful day, so I could relax without any crowds. Tharindu, a staff member, was incredibly friendly and made my visit even better. My order arrived quick and the hot chocolate I had was nice. The internet connection was reliable, which was perfect for getting my work done. The only thing that bothered me a bit was the dim lighting and the small tables designed like sewing machines. It was a little cramped to sit comfortably. Overall, despite the snug seating and dim lighting, I enjoyed the cafe's location, the excellent service (shoutout to Tharindu!), and I definitely plan on returning. Keep up the good work, Black Cat Cafe!

The pros are it's a chic little cafe located quite centrally in Colombo. Th cafe has quite a chic intergrated with homely nice feeling to it. Specially outdoors. The staff is excellent. They are attentive. It has adequate parking. The food wasn't really upto my expectations, The pasta was quite bland And the butter milk chicken while crisp to perfection was not seasoned at all.

Ordered The Mission from their Breakfast Menu and it was superb! I ended up eating vegetables which I usually skip, like kidney beans, mushrooms and spinach. The flavours were great and the combinations were wonderful! Would definitely recommend this place!

One of my favourite places in Colombo to hang out or get some work done. Cozy atmosphere and very tasty food - on the more pricey end of the spectrum but definitely worth it. Staff are super friendly too :) Only the WiFi did not work so well for me and could be improved.

This cafe topped my list after having cafe hopping around in Colombo for 2 days. This place has the best flat white around (though still not up to Aussie/Singaporean standard - cant find good quality flat white in Colombo!) and hearty breakfast. We tried the Eggs in Hell (MUST TRT!) and avocado on sourdough bread. We sat outdoors which was really nice and relaxing. We also separately stayed in the B&B for two days (just to be clear breakfast is not included in this) and it was the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka. Value for money and big comfortable clean room. Clean water is provided in the common area with tea and coffee. Tons of good recommendations on the black board. Highly recommend to stay here.

Perfect place to chill, work and hangout... enjoyed the "Alison" sandwich very much... must commend the furniture (tables) made of old sewing machines and door sashes...

Out of just the two vegetarian options they had, only one was available and I was notified about that after I finished ordering and when my friends meal was brought to the table! However the only option available was not at all good. It was called the "down payment" and had two slices of bread slathered in avocado and sprinkled with feta and some peppers. The poached egg was overcooked and all in all just didn't taste that good. It was quite bland. I also ordered a chocolate milkshake which was one of the worst I've ever had. Not enough chocolate and sugar; it just tasted of. Considering the prices of both things I ordered it was not at all worth it.

Cool ambience and a very nice hangout place. Bites are really tasty, main plates are as well but they're not so much value for money. Drinks and desserts leave some to be desired.

Quite a calm place in the middle of the city. They have parking for about 6 cars. The food was nice and was very flavourful. The service was good too.

Great place for breakfast. Nice cozy place to have strong coffee too. However, on a few occasions I went there, they didn’t have the small change (like 20lkr etc). They always said that they would give me later but they never did. They behaved as if they forgot about it.

Stay Room is decent. Large and spacious room with A.C, King size bed, clean sheets, 2 bed side tables, dressing table with mirror, clothes hanging rack with more than enough hangers you'll need. Power sockets on both sides of the bed and at the dressing table. Clean toilet, although a bit small, but manageable. Friendly and humble staff. Free WiFi, coffee and water is available for guests staying here. There's room to improve, but would recommend to stay. Café Friendly staff, good food and great coffee. Prices are reasonable, as the food is worth the price. Cozy interior design. Cool vintage art here and there. Tables are made with recycled old sewing machines, which is really cool. Has arm chairs and a comfortable sofa too. And a little library kinda space as well, with a good collection of books. There's a small display of their mech which is sold from here too. Overall, the place is great and would highly recommend to have an experience.

A relatively small cafe spot down Wijerama Mawatha. Cozy atmosphere with interesting stuff to check out around. Also if ur a book lover there are a few options. We tried the burger options and the taste was average lacking of good flavor. And definitely over priced for the quality of the food. The chips options were quite good as it was fresh. The fresh fruits beverages were also good. Specially the Soursop n Lychee drink was nice! Service was great! The staff was very helpful and polite. If ur looking for parking, they have space for about 2-3 vehicles max. We dropped by a mid week so it was quite slow. Overall I would say worth a visit, but the food was disappointing, especially for the price range compared to other cafes out there! We were told the menus change every 6 months so might try it out some time in the future again.

Went there with the doggy. Nice place. Looks slightly neglected but this may be the ambience they are going for... Had a narang juice (400/- on the board) but they keep saying "you want a narang cooler" I'm like "yes narang juice". But the juice was lovely or should I say cooler! Which by the way costs (500+tax). Nice place to take the doggies and go relax outside. Or inside I presume? We shall try next time to go into the ac with the doggo. The staff are attentive and friendly.

I love Black Cat Cafe, it's such a great place to chill and do some online work, or meet with a friend. Low-key vibes here, it usually isn't too packed or loud. Really cool staff, and the menu is really impressive. Try the Builder's Bap (add cheese) for a great brunch sandwich. Definitely feels like I'm not in Sri Lanka when I visit here . . . I am transported back to Brooklyn or Los Angeles. The industrial design elements, tasteful decor and art direction, it's a legitimately cool/hip spot.

This place has really good customer service. The guy who helped us with everything was very nice and kind. Has enough parking but not for more than 5-6 vehicles. The menu was pretty clear but not enough options. Would have loved to order from a better variety of food options. However it was good enough for us. Price is average compared to most other places. It is worth for the money since the portion sizes are good and filling. We bought three different types of spaghetti and all three were pretty decent in taste. Its a small area and with a crowd it gets noisy. Antique and vintage atmosphere. Will recommend for a meetup with friends.

Ps: Their "Poached Herb Chicken Sandwich" is a must-try. Eventhough, they were using local coffee beans (soul coffee) (if um not mistaken) I couldn't tell a difference. It is a quiet and peaceful place to have breakfast. We had continental breakfast along with coffee and hot chocolate, which were very good. Mr Roy Santiago was very hospitable, and took good care of us. Accessibility score: four on five. The place is accessible for persons using wheelchairs, and also for persons with blindness. You may however need to Manowar a little bit to your table in the outside space. Staff at the cafe are quite sensitive and helpful.

Had lunch at the Black Cat Cafe today and we loved every minute of it!! The staff are super courteous and kind and friendly and the food was brought to our table in under 15 mins. We got the Beef Ragu, Beef Lasagne and Parmesan fries, and they were all amazing 😍 pretty decent portion sizes too. Pretty awesome place overall!! Also, they have a super clean washroom :)

We stayed 3 nights there. Rooms are not as nice as they appear in the Airbnb pictures and the price is pretty high considering the current country situation and that Colombo isnt a touristic spott (around 50 USD per night), however the stay was comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. Regarding the cafe, which is right bellow the rooms, the food and the coffee itself are excellent!

The cafe looks very comfortable from the outside,and so does walking in. It’s a nice vibe to sit in or work, but the coffee and food are so-so. We ordered two cups of coffee, which came in glasses without handles and tasted a little burnt. The bacon in the sandwich was overcooked, and I was embarrassed to keep biting into it. My husband ordered a beef burger, the most expensive on the menu(Rs.3500), but it tasted a little meaty.

NOT A GOOD PLACE FOR VEGANS. The granola was not available and even the side of french fries cannot be ordered unless you get a burger (no veggie burgers). Staff were kind enough to customise a menu item to be vegan; however, that makes the vegan option a mediocre after-thought. I would like to see more substantial vegan options which include a source of protein such as tofu, grains, legumes, pulses.

Stayed there for almost 6 hours doing my Office work. Ordered the big breakfast, Paulie's burger, macchiato, and their signature iced tea.. The ambiance is pleasant and ideal for any personal work! The staff was supportive and treated every Customer with respect!! I even got myself a free iced tea!! :D Overall 10/10 for the experience and food!!

First, it’s the name and the branding that attracted me to this place. I sit outside, it’s was a rainy and gloomy day, perfect weather for a coffee. I got a coffee call Cats’s Eye, must be something unique for the place. I was extremely satisfied with the coffee. The music they play suits the place. Washroom was also quite well maintained. Overall I had a good experience, hope to come back again, sit inside and have some lunch or stay a night at the place.

I've dropped in for a coffee a couple of times.. the first time wasn't so good as the milk seemed off. The second time was much better the coffee was good.. unfortunately at the end of the day there weren't many options for a light snack.. however as coffee was the main reason it was very good. I wish Black Cat all the best.. keep an eye on the small things and I'm sure you'll do well.
