During our visit to Sri Lanka, we had the pleasure of exploring Maduganga Lake. As we arrived, we were immediately struck by the beauty of the surrounding mangrove forests that encircled the lake. The lush greenery created a sense of peace and tranquility that was truly breathtaking. We decided to take a boat tour of the lake, which was an excellent way to explore the area. The tour lasted around two hours and was led by a knowledgeable guide who provided insight into the local flora and fauna. We were amazed at the variety of bird species we saw, including kingfishers, egrets. We also spotted monkeys swinging through the trees and water monitors basking in the sun. One of the highlights of our visit was the trip to the nearby cinnamon island. Here, we learned about the history of cinnamon production in Sri Lanka and how it is harvested and processed. It was fascinating to see the cinnamon trees up close and to watch the skilled man peel the bark to reveal the fragrant spice inside. We even had the opportunity to purchase some cinnamon products to take home as souvenirs. In addition to the boat tour and cinnamon island visit, there were many other activities to enjoy at Maduganga Lake, such as kayaking, fishing, and birdwatching. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to Maduganga Lake. It's a unique and unforgettable experience that offers stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. Whether you're a nature lover, a history buff, or just looking for a relaxing day out, Maduganga Lake has something for everyone. We left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, with memories that will last a lifetime.

So many activities in the one tour. We took a boat tour and saw the cinnamon makers of SriLanka. Unfortunately a dying trade but we were grateful for still being able to experience. There is a Buddhist temple that we got to walk around and see. There was also a small hindu temple in the middle of the water but it is not being maintained very well. We saw Crocodile and got to hold baby Crocodile and jelly fish. We finally dipped our feet into water to get fish to clean our feet (if you are ticklish then this might not be for you).

Awesome boat ride, it takes about 1.5 hours. Fish massage centers, cinnamon village and buddhist temple are the interesting places you can visit along the ride. Little shops on the water are really cool.

Beautiful place to visit. This lake has many small islands. Some of these can be visited. There are many boat servises to visit this lake and you can use this services around 2500LKR per boat and they will with you nearly two hours. You can visit kadolana tunnels and also you can have foot therapy by fish. You can have a great memorable day here.

It is a good experience to have. Ideal group is 8 to book a boat. Should start the trip early as possible if not, by the time you return you are fed up with sunrise. Fish massaging is a great experience too.
