Very old railway station. Pretty small. Has two platforms. Clean and well kept. No cafeteria is there. Public WiFi is available to be used. Waiting area has a little number of seats. Can be crowded on mornings and afternoons.

This is next to Cargills Food City, some few banks, Bus Stop and not so far from the Galle Road. Once you get off from the station you can easily reach for a bus as well as tuk tuk park also there. The Dehiwala Market place which has everything next to this and for my view you can have most of your needs around from here. Station facilitated with water supply to clean yourself, covid protection steps following as well as passenger toilets also there. People can have seats until the train reach to the station. I think staff is good but I can't give a proper suggestion about that since I wasn't had a reason to get involved with them.

Railway station dehiwala

The guy at ticket counter believes he is the owner for railway department and gives tickets for free of charge. Further trains usually gets late and very rarely they come on time .. but people working at department act as they are the most punctual employees. he badly need to correct his attitude and support customer experience. I am traveling in train almost after 15 years and asked few questions and he looses his control ..

Usually busy in mornings and evenings. Trains towards Colombo, Kaluthara, and Aluthgama go pass here. Washrooms are available. You can access the Dehiwala - Mount Lavinia beach from here. 119, 163, 176 buses start in front of the station. Also, the Marine drive ends from here.

Poor customer service. specially the person who works on the ticket counter is behaving very rudely with us. For small reason he shouted on me and blamed me in to front of everyone like I did a big mistake.

Nothing much to the Station. Its an ordinary railyway station with little to no facilities to the travelers. I got almost killed myself slipping in the toilet once. It was fully covered with water (for about 1inch high) no tap inside the toilet. Just the urinal and a squatting pan. Everyone on the platform acan see you using the urinal. A disgusting of a place.

I am visited on Sunday morning to 8.30 a.m. No more people to train.

Station needs to be improved public things such as good shelter with sitting area for public people.

As a tourist this was a new ecperience for me. Buyimg the ticket to the old fashioned ticket press to boarding a train thats very old, dogs lying on the platform, people running all over the tracks. I should give it zero but i loved it. This is how life should be.
