If you wants to add your designation bring Employment Confirmation letter & Certificates Quick Service I have received my passport on normal service within 10 Days 🔥

Went on 15th August 2022. Added an online appointment. These days passports only issue for the ones who already had the appointment. Fill passport application correctly. At 8am security take oneday service users first for one queue. then normal users to another queue. One officer checks the appointment details first. Then we can go in and officer take documents (ID, Birth certificate, passport application, Educational certificate, Designation confirmation letter and those copies) then a token with number will issue to you. Then you have to go second floor. At there they checks documents and take your fingerprints. After that you have to pay the fee. (Normal service: Rs.3500, one day service: Rs.15000) Then they will give a receipt and ask to come at 2pm. You can come at 2 pm and collect your passport. At passport collection they call the number of the payment receipt and the name. So when they call your number you can go and collect it. Only the passport collection process is not organized. Other processes are well organized. For the ones who wish to take passport for children (< 15 years ) you don’t have to take your children there. Small canteen is there. And washrooms available. Parking is not available. Private parking is available near “Katukelle Jumma Masjid” Rs.100 per hour.

Very productive and quick service, may be its because of Provincial lockdown(18/08/2021) it took only 18 mins only to finish all my passport renewal work done including photo taken inside and digitally filled application form.. once i reach there by 9:55 straight away went inside without anyone on the queue. Really appreciate the work. For Passport renewal: 1.Please take ur old passport with copy 2.Original BC with copy 3.Original National Identity card with copy. 4.Take your own pen.

Pretty decent compared to other government institutions. For passport renewals, Make sure to bring a copy of your NIC & passport along with the original documents. Original Birth Certificate is mandatory. Take a pen along with you. (Photocopy and Online Photo services available inside)

One of the best services offered from a government institution. Properly organized and only took 30 minutes to the whole process. Keep in mind to book an appointment prior to visiting. If not you will have to wait in long queues. 1. Book an appointment ( Most probably 2 weeks prior to visiting) 2. Hand over your documents to the counter and get a queue number receipt 3. Go to 2nd floor, recheck the documents, provide your signature and finger prints, pay the bill All can be done within 1hour. A photo studio and a photocopy machine is available if any need arises.

One of the worst branch in Sri Lanka when it comes to serving people. Came down to change the profession. Just asked us to wait outside until 9.30 if the purpose of the visit is changing the profession. Once I got in they said I have to wait until 10.30 to get my application form. There was no queue or whatsoever. Then took my application and asked all (me and the rest of the people who were there to change the profession) to wait until 12PM to pay the necessary fee. Once I made the payment I waited till 2PM to receive my passport back. What a disgrace. Either mention on your bloody webpage that alteration work will only be accepted after 12 or automate the process online.

I would provide zero stars if possible. Worst government department I have ever been to. Their mission is to become the best in the region yet poor service provided to their customers. This place is understaffed, unorganized and un-equipped. They do not have a better system to work. Most of the human resource management work is done by the security officers inside. The people work there are rude to people and do not care about providing a better service. Currently charging LKR 20,000 to make/renew a passport on their one-day service. They take their well-wishes out of the main queue and some applicants are directly been sent out of the queue based on may be the bribes given to them. Tips to remember: - [ ] Go as early as possible - be on the queue at-least by 5am (some hire people to be on the line for them until they start taking people inside) - [ ] They will start providing tokens from 7.15am - [ ] Only 150 one day service passports are issued per day (priority is not given to normal delivery passport applications) - [ ] Take cash - [ ] Take a print of the digital copy of your passport photo as a document with a barcode, copy of the birth certificate certified from Kachcheriya, photocopy of your NIC, and passport bio page, and passport application (which can be obtained for free from their office - gate) - [ ] Plan to spend the day in the office - [ ] They would ask you to come to collect your new passport between 2pm and 4pm (but in my case, they started issuing new passports at 4pm and had to wait until 5pm to obtain my passport) - [ ] Stay hydrated, take some food with you

Worst experience. Just like our government, this place also worst. . There is nothing called customer service, counter staffs treat us like dogs. . For citizens: be prepared with every single documents or else they will send you back again. They won't tell the reason even. Just go. That's all. . If you're bringing your laminated birth certificate. Don't think doing it. Go to kacheri office and get a new birth certificate form and bring that. . Highly disappointed and wish we had a private office for this service because this government office SUCKS 👎 . This message is for Kandy passport office, please work on your customer service, provide them training, hire some lady staffs for counter or else the counter male staffs who treat us like dogs will get punched in the face.

There is no place to sit.. This is a dirty department that robs people of innocent people's money..

Today 08/12/2021 i went to kandy passport office to get a passport for my wife. She is a facecover lady. And this was her first time to enter an government office. We were separated at the entrance and told that there were guides inside. But she was humiliated due to the face cover and she was asked to remove her facecover when submitting the documents. She has removed her facecover and the mask to show her face but they wanted her to remove her (jilbaab) scarf also.. While everyone was submitting their documents wearing masks. Why do we want to remove the scarf while the face is enough to recognise the identity??.. 😐😐😐

The administration of this office is the perfect match for Sloth in Zootopia. If you've ever thought of getting that expierience in real, this is the perfect place for it.

If you need to get the service these days, it is better to make prior appointment. You can take passport photographs, photocopies inside the office. Don't expect secure parking there. You have to park your vehicle along the side of the road. If you do not have an appointment, you need spend the following night outside the office waiting in the queue to get a service number.

I applied a new passport before 80 days . Still now I didn’t receive it. I visited them 3 times and they are giving me a time frame like 1 week or 10 days . But till now I didn’t receive. The worst system and staffs. If u are able to give bribe then u may able to get it faster.

It is the worst government office i have ever seen, The staff is horrible. They treat people with rude words. Especially in their studio there is a man who doesn't even know how to speak like a human. He barks like a dog to people.No manners. No patients. Hate it.

Went there to get the passport in one day, But had to wait couple more days due to some issues with printing. I just wonder, how Sri Lanka still surviving... If the government officers are irresponsible like this...

Applied for the one day service. Although there is time slot allocated for the appointment, they queue the people first come first serve basis. Only the date they are checking. If you go first then you can finish the documents early.

I am very impressed with the staff of Sri Lanka immigration office Kandy branch. I went there to get my biometrics included in my passport which was acquired through SL high commission in Australia. All the people worked there that day were very polite, efficient and professional. Kudos to everyone and keep up the good work.

Laminator is broken. Went on monday for the one day service. Evening i got the sms saying to come and collect the passport. When i go there they said the laminator is broken. I asked why the sms then🤐 Its now three days passed wednesday, still i didnt get the passport. Does not answer phone. Ask before taking any services in the government sector. Disgusting!

Provides comparatively better service than other government institutions. If you obtained passport under normal service, make sure to visit them if you didn't receive the passport after two months (as of now), then they will arrange it on very next day.

Highly efficient and professional service. Extremely well organized and the staff are pretty friendly. Not like the other government staff who are always angry, hungry or annoyed 🤦🏽‍♂️ I was pleasantly shocked to see such levels of service in Sri Lanka from a local institution.

I joined the queue at 5:30 AM and my job was done at 3:00 PM. It was the normal service which starts after the one day service. Best is to use ONLINE service for the adults. Anyway, for kids, have to go. 5000 for the normal service. Bring some books to read and remain calm.🧘

This is one of the poluted and worst govenment office in sri lanka. They serve the people as beggers. Their service is very dull and specially lady staff officers dont have a pleasant gesture when people inquire about something. Had a very bad experience. they have no any idea about the time of the people and they wasting thousands of poeples hours daily. Any way, male security officers service is good.

One of the few government places which provides efficient and accurate service. I went to prepare a travel document for my 3 year old baby and for small kids they have priorities service quick and convenient. They do have some areas to develop but they are far ahead from a regular government offices which public hates to go. A huge thank for the team who is providing a fantastic service 👏
