Nice place for jogging and family outdoor. Fresh unpolluted air and green all around. The main track and food area is bit busy on the weekend and holidays. Watch the kids and toddlers all the times as walking tracks frequently violated by the non-regular cyclists. The lake has a rich natural habitats of various types birds and water creatures. Crocodiles are also part of the lake, the main park is protected with a fence surrounding the lake. It is safe for anyone who pay good attention to surrounding. Car parking available at main entrance and second car park available at the second entrance from Raththanapitiya side. The track is 3km and two separate track available for walking / jogging and cycling. The direction and distance is marked on road and side boards. Make sure you follow that to avoid collisions. Usually bicycles, skateboards, skate shoes and scoters (non motorized) commonly used in this are. Closer to second car park, the exercise area is available with few outdoor workout equipment. Near the Bellanvila temple, on the other side of the road to the main park, adjoining park is accessible. It has much closer approach to the natural environment. It is about 1.5km walk or ride. Only a gravel track is there, not protected with a fence, so if you visit or use that area, pay some extra attention to the road and sides as crocodiles may approach. Food outlets and dining area is an average facility. Usually conquered by teenagers and youngsters in weekends and holidays.
