We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment to spend one night and the main objective was the different plans for trips we would take around Colonia and surrounding areas. For that purpose, the apartment is in an unbeatable location. It seemed a bit expensive to me but I understand that I went on a high season winter holiday weekend. A plus, they opened a cafe where we had a very delicious breakfast, very well attended and they gave us a 20% discount for being tenants of Casa Francis.

Emiliano and his lovely family saved us, when we lost our wallets and had only foreign cash to find a place to stay. They are some of the most wonderful people you could ever hope to meet! As for Casa Francis, it was the best spot in all our time in Colonia, and we stayed there over 4 months. Incredible views, right in the middle of the historic quarter, and just enough furniture to be really comfortable without any extra clutter. A high quality remodel, unlike many other places in town. And I almost hate to share it... but the rooftop is a hidden gem. We made friends from all over the world there. The kind of travel friends you might actually visit, months later. Definitely a magic place!
