I saw NP Joseph Wood for the first time. He is terrific. Very easy to talk to. He really listened to me about my health concerns. Helped me with recommendations of specialists and lined up appts. He is now my Primary Care! I feel that I finally have a Dr. Who will work me in when I'm sick and do more than refill prescriptions.

I have been a patient of Dr. Clay for many years I love that he is very caring he takes time with you and explain the importance of your health. I also see Nurse Practitioner Mary Davis she very attentive as well. The Office staff is very professional and patience. In a whole the best Dr's office around.

The front office staff were friendly and welcoming . I was surprised how little paperwork I had to complete. HCA did a good job of consolidating forms.. We had a very short wait before my Dad was called back for his appointment. Joseph Wood, NP did an amazing job of communicating with my 100 yo dad. In addition, he completed the stack of paperwork I left for him within 24 hours. Thank you. Bottom line, I highly recommend this office if you’re looking for a PCP.

I am a grateful and satisfied patient of Dr. John Clay at Primary Health Group Appomattox. He is the most thorough, thoughtful and focused primary care physician, and I have the greatest confidence in his medical care. Dr. Clay is so easy for me to communicate any questions and/or concerns and he takes the time to listen and to address them. This is, in my experience, a rarity in these times. And each visit has a short wait time, usually around 15 minutes tops! This practice also provides an exemplary and courteous staff. I heartily recommend Primary Health Group Appomattox for the best in primary care in central Virginia.

I’m very impressed with my total care each time I visit with my primary care physician Dr. Clay. He takes the time to give professional care and explain my health and report. He also handles referrals when needed expeditiously. Thank you to the staff as well!

Quick to get to see Dr. Clay. He is very personable and efficient. Highly recommend. Clerical staff very polite and efficient. Your follow up, however, is driving me crazy. I have received 4 texts and hopefully only 1 Email. Pleas quit sending the damn things!

I love this doctor and office! The office wait is always reasonable. Dr Farooq is amazing. She’s personable, caring, and knowledgeable. She spends the time and actually listens. They took my labs in the office and she personally called me the next day (usually this takes weeks) to say everything looked good! I’ve never had a doctor personally call me even if something was wrong! I’ve never been so happy with a primary care doctor!! She’s personally called me another time when the pharmacy/insurance had an issue with a medicine to help change it. 10 stars!!
