Delish, delish, deeeelish! 10 stars if I could! We were greeted right away and sat right as quickly! Our waitress was a total sweetheart *unfortunately didn't catch her name!* but super sweet, very friendly and very quick! The salad bar was SUPER good, very fresh and very filling! (Great rolls, too!) The food, just as wonderful! The baked haddock was SO good and the prime rib was Prefect! The sides were very good. Our drinks were great, too! All the waitstaff was super friendly, nice and made sure we were well taken care of! 100/100 would most definitely go again! Excited to try more on the menu! Very fair prices and very delicious food! Wouldn't change a thing about our experience tonight! Thank you Barnsider for a great date night!

The seafood sampler was great, but the beef Wellington was not as good as expected.

Our first time at Barnsider. We went there after my cousin and his lady drove 2 hours to surprise me at a pop event I was doing! I wanted to take them to a local restaurant. I loved the rustic decor. The food was delicious and so was my pomegranate cocktail! Everyone enjoyed themselves and would definitely go back!

Loved this place, they have an old school salad bar. I had the Beef Wellington, delicious. We had fried ice cream for dessert, great ending to a fabulous meal.

My wife and I went to the Barnsider last night for our Anniversary dinner. Believe it or not being a Capital Region resident for almost a half century, it was my first time there. I had always heard good things about their steaks. We ordered the 24oz sirloin for two medium. We enjoyed the salad bar and our appetizer. Our waiter was great. We we got the steak it was charred black on both sides. We didn’t cause a stink but, did ask the waiter if that’s the way the steaks usually come out when ordering medium. He didn’t give much of a excuse.. In hindsight, we should have sent it back. Pretty dissatisfied for paying nearly $60.00 for a charred steak.

Escargot w/o garlic???? I was directed to this restaurant by the concierge desk. Looked good online….suffered terribly in person. App was less than appealing. Steak 🥩 ordered medium rare, came out med well. Decided to nix the desert. Can’t imagine it would meet its description. Expected a high end steakhouse, got a Rustler….

Worker/Associate was smoking weed outside, Wow, not a great start. I order a top sirloin, medium rare. Hits my table and my 30 dollar steak is charred and well done, all the way through. Okay not cool. Ask for another steak off the grill because I was disappointed and I get a New York strip which was, yep, you guessed it, well done. The best part of my night was that baked potato that came on the side. Quite disappointed indeed. Though on a side note, the service was welcoming and friendly.

We found this diamond in the rough by accident. If you're looking for great food and not overly concerned with the decor The Barnsider is for you. The food was fantastic, the drinks are a heavy pour, and the staff is fun and personable. Great night out, soo glad we stumbled upon them!!

The team waiting on our group was knowledgeable, efficient and fun . The steaks were cooked perfectly. Salad bar was well stocked with fresh produce. Our only criticism was that the fried calamari arrived at the table warm/ cold , not hot. We have dined at this establishment many times and will continue to enjoy in the future.

In years past this was a go-to spot for great steaks, prime cuts and appetizers. The service was and remains so, fantastic. The kitchen seems to be off their mark though. Two in our group ordered NY Sirloin, medium rare, hard sear. One came out perfect, mine unfortunately was medium well. Mistakes happen. The wait staff recognized this and immediately offered to replace. If the doneness was close, I would have let it go, but it was far past. In these uncomm situations a returned steak gets top grill person attention, but they must have been short handed. The picture is the 2nd steak which was clearly not medium rare. Kitchen staff came out to speak with me and tried to tell me it was medium rare or close. He offered to replace, but the others in my party were almost done w dinner so I said no, but thanks. He then offered to comp my entree. I said no, but thank you. They did comp my entree and I tipped 30% of what the total would have been. They did a fair job of trying to correct a mistake.

I took my daughter there for her birthday by her request and had a terrible experience. Our waitress initially came to our table to take our order and then we didn’t see her again but saw her helping other tables, a nice man brought our food and my first dish was Haddock that was so over cooked I could swallow it and the veggies were so hard my fork would go in them, the guy(not our waitress) asked how it was and I told him I was sorry but the food wants edible so he suggested I try the salmon, which I was very happy to. My daughters food was great and when she was finished the second plate of salmon came with the same exact raw veggies on it and RAW salmon, cold, RAW salmon. At this point I was so embarrassed to have to tell the guy again who then offered me a third meal, which I declined because it was getting very late and my daughter was already done and her food was packed up. I reached out them and have heard nothing from them so I will NEVER spend another dime there again!

The bread was amazing and warm and soft. Salad bar was nice. A little messy but nice. The chocolate cake was to die for. 😋

My wife and I decided on the barn cider for our anniversary. Turned out to be a wonderful choice. Food was incredible, service was great, and it's one of those meals that we certainly will be going back for in the future. It's a little loud when it's crowded, mostly due to the fact that it's a rustic environment and there's not a lot of curtains or carpeting to absorb sound from other customers. But that's part of the overall feel. Salad bar was fresh, and a great start to the meal. Finished it off with a peanut butter pie for dessert that was to die for. Great overall experience.

Comfortable, nice array of menu choices. Would have liked some more salad bar toppings, like hard boiled egg slices or shredded cheese. Save for one, our desserts failed to arrive, but staff very apologetic and accommodating. Overall a nice dining experience.

Out of all the times my wife and I have been out to eat this is the first time in years that everything has been right, everyone was pleasant, any questions we discussed a waiter stopped to clarify the issue. The timing of the entrees coming out seemed fast to the training waiter but we were surprised that they came out together. The food came out perfectly cooked, well seasoned, and the leftovers were as good the next day. The only downside I saw is that to me the beers listed were common. This is one of the few times I can say while pricey you get your money's worth. Again this is one of the best dining experiences we've had. Thank you.

Great foods, a must visit while in Albany. Very busy until 7:30 pm, bar has great atmosphere.

We shared the Seafood Appetizer for 2 and chowed down on the delicious salad bar! The wait staff were prompt and courteous! A lovely atmosphere for families and couples. I was even treated to a free brownie dessert for my birthday! Lit candle and all! Reservations are suggested..... It is a popular place, even on a Monday!

The food here is consistently good. The menu is ala carte, so dinner can get pretty pricey and portions are limited in size. The atmosphere is warm, inviting and perfect for a leisurely meal.

First time coming here was a excellent experience. Friendly workers , great food! Will be back again.

We have been long time patrons of this restaurant and still enjoy coming here. There have been some blips post covid but it felt last night it was just great. Excellent steak cooked as requested and our server was attentive and helpful. We had steak/seafood combo dinners some drinks and enjoyed ourselves.

We've been here plenty of times over the years but we have not been back since before COVID. It's always good. But tonight, they really knocked it out of the park. There was a bit of a wait in between going to the salad bar and receiving our entrees but we got caught up in having family time and didn't even notice. Plus the quality of the food would have erased any time that we waited. The scallops haven't ever been so good. Perfect crisp perfect tenderness and perfect flavor. The tenderloin was superb, the sauce not too thick not too thin. The chicken Florentine had a perfect crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. The cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach and mushrooms complemented each other perfectly. The wait staff even had some fun with our 9-year-old. She was allowed one refill of soda and they made it fun by ensuring she got every last drop of the first one before they refilled it. Usually I don't disappoint and have great photos but we enjoyed our company and the food so much that I didn't even bother.

One of the best for great steaks as well as the awesome salad bar. The staff are friendly and always on task to ensure you are enjoying your meal.

I have enjoyed many meals here. It's not a chain, service is great and the steaks are very good. You also get a nicely stocked salad bar. While I am not in the bar area it looks very nice. Recommended.

This restaurant has been around for years and it's none. The worst for wear. Salad bar is great. The services attentive. The stakes and seafood are top notch.

We loved the way the servers were interchangeable. No matter who walked by our table, each checked on us and were willing to assist as needed. Each staff member was friendly and appeared happy to be serving the patrons. The food was prepared well and served promptly. Most of my party chose the salmon dish, I chose the stuffed haddock. Each person was very happy with his/her meal. My serving was so large that I got three meals out of it. Will definitely go back!

My Boyfriend and I were here tonight for Dinner. Our Food from our Appetizer to our Meal to our Dessert was Absolutely Positively Delicious and Amazing!! The Staff was Awesome and Friendly and they took really good care of us. We would Definitely come back here in a Heartbeat!

We went here on Friday night . The food had absolutely no flavor, the crab mushrooms tasted like just stuffing, and the clam chowder tasted like cream of chicken soup out of a can. The service in the beginning was very good but once it was time to order and from then on out the service was awful. We were there for over 2 hours waiting for desserts

Absolutely delicious meal. Service was spot on. Food was amazing. Highly recommend.
