I’m not a whiskey drinker ordinarily. So the fact that Axe & Oak can make some drinks that a non-whiskey drinker like myself can enjoy puts them in the upper rankings of nicer drinking spots in my heart. The atmosphere here was very intimate and fitting of a speakeasy vibe. I really loved it. All the staff were helpful and attentive and didn’t act like snobs when I admitted I didn’t know what I was doing. I was recommended the Noble Experiment which is a fantastic cherry infused cocktail. It wasn’t overpowering but the hints of whiskey present were still enjoyable and spoke of good quality. I also tried the old fashioned as I got braver and that was also amazing. My only one complaint is that the band they had in that night was way too loud. The band was good - so it’s not about quality of entertainment - but the sound was too loud for such a small space and didn’t match the chill vibe that Axe & Oak seems to be about. My buddy informed me that usually they have more laid back folk and acoustic styles music, in which case would’ve been preferable. But I’ll go back and try to catch a night with a less rock-infused band.

Absolutely love this place. An amazing atmosphere, with friendly servers. We had the opertunity to meet one of the owners. He was a down to earth whiskey lover who really opened our eyes to all the different pallets we could enjoy with whiskey.

I’ve been here a couple of times and had my fair share of Axe and the Oak in my personal time. Everyone I’ve ever met has always been fantastic. From ordering drinks, to picking up limited bottles and merch, I look forward to many more years!

I am a huge fan of Axe and Oak and it is my favorite bourbon in the Springs. The drinks we had were fantastic and the staff working that night were just as awesome. It has a great atmosphere and wonderful smell right when you walk in. I was able to snag a 10 year and enjoy drinks with great friends. Highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the area.

Swanky bar with super friendly bartenders and a menu filled with great cocktails. The tobacco old fashioned was delicious and very smooth (pictured along with the Chai Moonshine Sour). We really enjoyed how our bartender took the time to give us some background on their liquors and drinks.

The decor is cool and hotel-spot elegant. I had duck wings (delish) and crab cake (good) on brussel sprouts. The bartender knew what he was doin but they were out of big rocks, nbd but their scotch and cocktails arent fancy without it. I'd probably give five stars, especially considering the neighborhood, but i realized after leaving that i had a HUGE streak of sauce on my face from the duck wings! Everyone saw it, they said nothing.

Service was amazing. We were welcomed in the moment we walked in the door. Overall a very good exprience. Drinks were on point and so was the service! We will be coming back!

This is a fantastic Whiskey House. Their house drinks and overall drink menu are incredible. Their wait staff and bartenders are top notch and the atmosphere is great as well.

Have been here a few times over the years. Recently went again, and saw a continued trend that seems to be getting worse. Drinks took forever to come, and there were maybe 6 people in the whole place. All the drinks that aren’t a normal old fashioned seem to miss the mark, and not by a little bit. Mine tasted like cough medicine. But the worst thing is the music. It’s always, every time, so loud you can’t hear yourself think or talk with your friends. Wouldn’t be as much of a problem if they didn’t have it every night.

Live music, great drinks, and friendly service! This place has it all. The upper floor was kind of a let down but as soon as you get to the bottom, you come across this place and it was awesome!

Dillon and Emily were absolute rockstars!! Of all the cocktail bars I’ve stumbled upon, this one is second to none. Highly suggest the “bartender’s whim” and let these artists work. Every single cocktail we had was a masterpiece. I cannot recommend this place enough.

I had the absolute best time at this distillery. The bourbon here is sublime. I had the butterscotch bourbon and it was so good I bought a whole bottle. Try the bourbon flight! I can't wait to be able to return.

Came in, was greeted, and we sat down. Wasn’t acknowledged after that for about 20 minutes. Was able to sit, head back upstairs to get the food we ordered, and finish our entire meal before anyone bothered to ask if we wanted anything. Server had to have walked by us, and serve the table next to us ~4 times. 3 other groups that headed directly to the bar were served in the time that we were there.

Very good ambience and customer service. Bartender made a great custom mock-tail, as there is only alcohol on the menu. Outdoor patio was comfortable, and had a nice fenced area for families with kids.

Delightful distillery in Ivywyld school. Their base liquors are AMAZING and cocktails are epic. Service is fantastic, friendly, and informed. Love this place. I've never left sober and they are fantastic. Go there or be a loser.

The drinks were excellent as always, but the service was absolutely abysmal. We watched one bartender sit with a couple at the table next to us for 10 minutes without us ever talking to our server. This trend repeated endlessly for our whole visit, with the neighboring table taking shots with both servers and us being ignored, roughly 30 minutes between service just to ask for water or another drink, and then another 10 minutes to get our drinks while other tables are being actively catered to. Truly disappointing.

Every time I'm here, the bartenders are super nice and knowledgeable and create the best cocktails. Vibe is perfect, prices are fair, and their ingredients are great. Definitely come here!

Had some great cocktails and heard some good music that fit the vibe of a Saturday night. Filled up quick so we were glad we got there early. Great recommendations from the friendly mixoligists. we had the fries and they were solid, looking to try more food and drinks when we go back!

Izzy our server last night was amazing! He was personable and fun! S/O to the bartender for making the best whiskey sours! 🧁

Great date night experience with a friendly staff. I would recommend coming during the week if possible for a quieter vibe, but for sure one of my favorite distilleries in the Colorado Springs area!

Axe and the Oak is our favorite spot in Colorado Springs. The drinks are phenomenal and the service is always of the highest quality. Home to the very best whiskey. We always come for the drinks, but stay for the bartender’s mullets.

My husband and I recently went on a vacation to Colorado Springs and happened to stumble upon Axe and the Oak Whiskey House. I'm so glad we did, Emily and all of her co-workers were top-notch employees. They make a mean whiskey sour and my husband could not recommend the blackberry old fashioned more. Don't sleep on the butterscotch liquor either, it's life changing. Wished we lived closer to be regulars. Keep up the good work guys.
