Highly recommend the Rock Tour through Glen Eyrie's property. Whether or not you might be interested in geological formations or just looking for a fun way to spend some time outdoors. Our tour guide Linda made the tour awesome! She was incredibly knowledgeable and took family photos on different "stops" along the way. Oh, there is a great coffee shop so you can wake up before heading outside if you want to. The grounds of the castle are really pleasant to stroll through and overall it makes for a great day trip... check the Rock Tour out for sure.

We had a wonderful time at Glen Eyrie. We stayed at one of the lodges, and it felt remote and was very quiet. It was hard to believe that we were only a few minutes from the city. The scenery with the rock formations and the beautiful improvements to the property, the three deer running across the lawn right in front of us, not to mention the delicious breakfast in the castle in the morning all added up to a memorable stay. Even more impressive was the tour, with Lisa as our guide. Lisa was simply the perfect guide, knowing not just about how the castle came to be, but the history of the area, and all about founder, General William Jackson Palmer and his family. Lisa was so knowledgeable about the process of building the castle and showed us so many amazing inventions from General Palmer that were installed and used in the castle. The tour was one of the best we have ever been on and it was obvious that many people value their connection to the property.

Couldnโ€™t have asked for a better experience! This place is breathtaking the views are amazing! We made reservations for tea time and the tea was so good. The serving sizes were perfect even my husband enjoyed them and got full which is saying a lot. We went in the fall so we experienced a lot of pumpkin flavors different spices, which was great. I have no complaints about this place. We absolutely loved it. It was on my bucket list for a while. The ambiance was so serene and our waiter Austin was so nice and attentive. The staff was friendly as well.

What a gorgeous historic hotel and property! Living in Colorado Springs, we've visited several times for special events and afternoon tea, but this is our first time staying on property. We're attending a marriage retreat here and love everything about the property. Meals in the dining room, sessions in the Grand Room, and we have a beautiful, huge suite on the third floor. Beautifully appointed and so special to stay in a historic castle property with such a rich history. Views out our windows are spectacular, and the castle itself, as well as the gorgeous grounds, are just really special. Highly recommend staying here and taking long walks through the spectacular grounds.

We loved our stay at the top of the Castle at Glen Eyrie! We only stayed one night, but the room was so neat and a fun stay for my husband, myself, and my two young boys. The king size bed with a pull out couch was perfect for the 4 of us! (My boys are 4 and 7, so the pull out couch was just fine). We enjoyed the beautiful views, the wild animals, and the GLUTEN FREE breakfast!! My 4 year old has Celiac disease and can't have lactose, so finding him things to eat can sometimes be challenging. EVERYTHING on the breakfast bar (except the burritos) was gluten free-eggs, sausage, fruit, etc. They even had gluten free cereal and lactose free milk- that REALLY made this momma heart happy!

Had a fantastic time here! The castle and grounds are gorgeous. Like DROP DEAD GORGEOUS! Tea time was an absolute hit. The service was amazing. Everything was presented with the utmost attention to detail. It looked magazine worthy, really. The tea room was beautiful. I loved every single thing served. Absolute must-do in the area. If you are a guy reading this, RUN, don't walk, to get a reservation for the special person in your life. They will be thrilled!

Glen Eyrie Castle is a beautiful structure that is an essential piece of Colorado and Colorado Springs history. The former estate of General William Jackson Palmer, the founder of Colorado Springs, this private facility is now owned and operated by the Navigators, a Christian ministry, and is used for conferences, concerts and other types of events but also has 90+ rooms available as bed and breakfast stays. Personally, I have stayed in the castle as well as several of the lodges and enjoyed all of my visits immensely. Additionally, as a student of history, I highly recommend the 90 minute castle tours that provide a walking tour of the castle and grounds. Finally, the English Teas held inside the castle are one of my favorite things to do for special events with the wife.

Glen Eyrie is breathtaking in its natural beauty. Our church had a womenโ€™s retreat there which was perfect for our needs. We saw big horn sheep, stunning sunrises and sunsets on red rocks, rose gardens, and the beautiful old castle. The rooms have had some nice renovations! The castle tour is fascinating and the hikes are great. Itโ€™s very close to Garden of the Gods, and has an outdoor fire pit and amphitheater for groups to rent. Lots of quiet places to read and walk the property, Including hammocks to lay in. Itโ€™s a versatile site - large groups happen here, small getaways, business meetings and even summer camps. The property allows for a lot of people to gather.

Loved this place. I only stayed one night and was there about 12 hours but it was great. I wish I could've stayed longer to explore the trails on the property. The location is great if you're wanting to do Pike's Peak, Garden of the Gods, or Cave of the Winds. Check in was super easy. Since we were getting in late and the front desk would be closed, we checked in at the gate and received all the information we would need for our stay. The castle is very well kept. My room was a little small and had a bit of peeling wallpaper but was otherwise immaculate. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. Will definitely stay here again.

Went for tea time as a day date with my husband. The grounds were gorgeous! Well kept and the castle was just beautiful. The tea was actually very good and while the food was more finger foods than an actual meal (we knew ahead of time what to expect) I left satisfied. I liked that you could eat and drink at your own pace. I was eager to see the grounds after tea so we ate quite fast. Our waitress was quick to move down the menu. I did notice others taking their time so it really is paced to your preference. I highly recommend visiting at least once. While there is no dress code, dressing up is encouraged and makes it so fun!

I went to the Glen Eyrie castle for the first time last fall with my best friend from California. We reserved a place for high tea. It was more fun than we imagined. The location is absolutely gorgeous. The castle grounds are available to stroll through and there are hiking areas attached for reservation holders. The day we were there the long horn sheep were sleeping in the grass under the trees. Absolutely stunning to see the crack horns and mingle around. Our tea experience was exceptional and our hosts were phenomenal. They have special menu options for vegan as well. The service was lovely! The dishes served are seasonal with options for tea flavors. Place setting and the rooms are exquisite. We were invited to join a tour of the castle and learned about how it came to be and the history. This is definitely worth the time to see. Get involved in as much as you can while here for the best experience. It can be anything from fancy to casual. We will be returning during different seasons to experience the new services and views.

What a beautiful facility at an affordable price. Although I thought I was actually staying in the castle itself it ended up being one of the lodges near the castle but it was fine. Most rooms do not have television so be aware of that. The staff was exceptional the views were majestic and this location was near affordable diners and other shopping facilities. This is a non-alcohol non-smoking facility. Your breakfast is served in the actual castle so this will be fun. The surrounding area is filled with wildlife of which many turkeys are running wild on the grounds. Love this location.

One of the most interesting places to visit in Colorado Springs. Just north of Garden of the Gods. Built from imported materials by a turn of the century railroad owner Lots of native wildlife to be seen. Mountain goats. Wild turkeys. Bears. Impressive hiking trails with great views. A nice coffee bar where you can get your favorite latte. The food in the dining hall is tasty and well prepared. Various lodging on the property and you can stay in the castle if you like. An excellent place for a personal or group spiritual retreat.

We visited this place randomly when we were driving by and it was so cool. It was completely free to enter. We drove around and saw great views, some turkeys even came up to our car window! They have nice field areas and benches where you can go for walks have picnics and just enjoy the nature. We also stopped by the Cafe and bookstore where we got some Italian sodas and looked at some books! Such a cute little place with a great atmosphere.

I took my girlfriend to tea time and proposed to her in front of the castle. It was an unforgettable experience! The property is absolutely gorgeous. The employees are so kind and welcoming, we will definitely be coming back each year for our anniversary.

Overall Rating: 4.25: Great experience with booking high tea at the Castleโ€™s Cabinet. Excellent service in historical room in the castle. Delicious Summer Tea menu with savory & sweet treats. Paid for tour with docent through castle including a short movie & fascinating facts about the original & subsequent owners. Plenty of free parking options & ability to book your stay in Glen Eyrie Castle or The Pink Castle. Gift store to purchase souvenirs. Note: The Navigators purchased the castle in 1953 and there are religious overtones & messaging throughout the castle and gift shop.

What can be said about this magical place? Wonderful rooms, amazing continental breakfast, great cafe, and perfect place for a romantic walk! But what I really appreciated most was the spirit of God being welcomed there. There is something so refreshing about noticing that I'm not the only one praying before their meals. The volunteer staff was especially friendly and amiable. The pay staff is professional and helpful. Who could ask for anything more?

Teas & staff were wonderful. The food was mediocre. Turkey sandwiches and savories didnโ€™t have much flavor. Ditto for the scones & muffins. Berry salad had 2 small, thin slices of strawberries. There was one small piece of peppermint fudge for a sweet treat. The castle is spectacular. Including tip, it was a $50 experience which I think is a bit high for the quality.

I love Glen Eyre. Itโ€™s so beautiful and peaceful! Such an amazing retreat center and worth the views of landscape, architecture and wildlife! The Cafe is yummy and bookstore is sweet. Having High Tea there is a treasure and a memory Iโ€™ll never forget. It was delicious and I felt like royalty!

We purchased tour tickets online ($12 each) for Friday at noon. They ask for your reservation at the gate and you are given a parking pass and a tour entrance sticker. The tour ran approximately 90 minutes with a 15 minute informative video at the start. You will learn a lot about the history of the castle and the founder of Colorado Springs. Our tour group was about 25 people total. Terry, our guide, was great! We saw a bunch of wild turkeys and big horn sheep roaming the land around the castle. Overall the tour was quite interesting and gives you access to the property. We did a quick walk around the property afterwards to check out the other houses and trails. Unfortunately you can not hike Queens Canyon or I was told you risk facing hefty fines and jail time. Really cool area that basically expands Garden of the Gods. You can NOT get into the property for free though even if you just want to explore the trails. You must purchase a tour pass or a tea service to get in.

I went to Colorado on vacation and stumbled upon this place while I was there. Such beautiful history and stunning architecture. I knew of Penrose and walking through his castle was magical to me. Owned by the navigators now and so far they have taken amazing care of the property. I'm from Texas so the weather was amazing this time of year. I wished I lived in this state I would probably go hiking here often. Thanks for a good time and until next time

Took the tour and then stayed to attend The 2021 Madrigal Christmas event. First class in everything! Food & fine arts presentation were exceptional. Every hour was enjoyable. Great to see wild animals (turkeys, bighorn sheep) on the property. Tour guide was full of information. Gift shop had great hot chocolate and good keepsakes. Will return.

Tea experience was underwhelming but the servers were great. Iโ€™d say to lower any or all expectations you may have coming in if youโ€™ve done afternoon tea abroad in London. This is more so just something fun to do to get out of the house. Iโ€™d recommend getting an early reservation at 11am as the room is small and gets rather noisy since many people are squeezed in.
