TLDR:
MILITARY
PERSONNEL
BEWARE--garage
is
NOT
free
unless
you
fulfill
the
length
of
your
lease;
most
importantly,
PCS
or
deployment
military
orders
will
NOT
protect
you
from
this.
If
you
do
not
fulfill
the
length
of
your
lease,
they
will
either
keep
your
security
deposit
or
will
back-charge
you
the
$100/month
garage
rent
fee.
We
actually
really
loved
living
here
and
would
have
praised
it
highly.
This
was
a
terribly
unfortunate
end
to
our
stay,
and
so
cannot
help
but
poorly
review
it
to
hopefully
save
some
of
our
military
from
being
tricked
into
losing
money,
especially
during
our
current
economy.
We
moved
in
initially
anticipating
a
stay
of
only
13
months.
I
made
it
clear
this
was
our
intention,
and
asked
if
we
should
limit
the
lease
to
this
length
or
simply
agree
to
the
maximum
length
of
15
months
and
provide
military
orders
if/when
needed
to
break
the
lease
early.
We
were
told
this
was
no
problem
at
all.
However,
turns
out
what
we
were
NOT
told
was
that
we'd
owe
back
the
$100/month
garage
accession
fee
regardless
of
how
we
broke
our
lease
(military
orders
or
otherwise)
before
the
full
term.
Although
paying
on
a
monthly
basis
is
more
expensive,
we
would
have
opted
for
that
option
and
signed
a
13-month
lease
instead
if
Bonterra
had
been
transparent
regarding
the
garage
concession
terms.
Perhaps
it
was
an
oversight
of
the
previous
management.
And
there's
no
denying
that
it
was
our
responsibility
as
tenants
to
read
the
fine
print.
However,
every
military
member
understands
the
stress
of
a
PCS
move
and
the
virtual
inability
to
read
each
and
every
word
of
a
contract;
we
depend
in
part
on
the
transparency
of
those
with
whom
we
agree
to
do
business.
Regardless,
this
is
an
inexcusable
breach
of
integrity;
MILITARY
BEWARE.
