The rooms were clean and a nice size. I like that the have quiet times in consideration of guest. I love the concierge rooms with the complementary food. The gym and indoor pools are great. The hotel restaurant and bar was awesome. Tevin was as great bartender and server. The atmosphere of the whole hotel is awesome. The whole staff was just amazing, will definitely be back to stay again. A home away from home. Great for families or business trips. Just a great place to stay.

Stayed one night. I was able to do an early check in. The website stated valet parking but when I arrived, they only do self-parking due to pandemic. The hotel was nice and clean. Being that this hotel is downtown Columbia, you would like it would be a little more up-to-date. Everything was nice and clean. Bed slept good.

I didn't even know they had an indoor pool here, so that was a nice surprise. The workout room is good, too. Parking next door was ample (and free; I guess the garage ticket machines weren't working). Our room was very comfortable and quiet with all the amenities you'd expect.

Hotel was under renovation during our stay which meant loud drilling into our wall at 8am throughout the day and no water. I talked to the front desk and they told me that it was on the website that it would be under renovation, which is not true. They failed to tell us about not having water during our stay as well. If they knew they would be drilling into walls, why would they put us in a room right next to it? All in all, would not stay here again. Very unprofessional.

First on a few positive notes This Marriott did acknowledge and recognize our Ambassador status with a nice little gift in our room which we truly appreciated. The restaurant/bar staff were great. Unfortunately the rest was not up to Marriott standards. Multiple requests for service, (coffee, cups, toilet paper, soap) left completely unanswered. Had to keep going down to desk or call. And Yes bar SOAP was requested..they were out of bar soap to wash hands at the sink you had to STEP INTO THE SHOWER to use body wash to wash your hands. Door to bedroom did not close correctly..LARGE GAPS..you could see the door was put on crooked..door dragged on carpet and would not close unless you lifted up on the door. Fitness center was disgusting..no wipes for equipment..garbage sat on floor for 4 days before it was picked up. Equipment not wiped down..sound did not work on treadmill. Floor was filthy clearly not moped/cleaned. No cups for water in gym x4 days.

Centralized downtown to a lot of things to do. Had a very nice view of the city from our room (10th floor). The price was very reasonable, and the hotel service was great. Stay in many hotels, this was an easy enjoyable experience.

I came for a business conference. The room was very clean and nice. The staff was also pleasant. However, most likely I will not stay again for the following reasons: Because it was booked through my business, we had to pay for wifi in the rooms. ($8-$15 a day). Also, check out is at 12 pm. We had pretty much got our things out, but left food and drink items to be refrigerated and not in the hot car. About 20 minutes before check out I went to get the rest of the things out and things were moved and some items missing. Could definitely tell it was in process of cleaning as the sheets was missing, and cleaned out. Thank goodness it wasn't anything expensive missing. My charger was still in the room which was the most expensive item we left.

The hotel is being remodeled and we were able to stay in one of the newly remodeled rooms. It was nice however there was construction debris all over. We found washers, nails and drywall dusting throughout the room. When we got there it didn't have a fridge, we asked for one and recieved it right away. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. They told us our room had been released just a day before we stayed. The hotel is great, I would just say make sure the rooms are gone through and cleaned from construction before allowing people to stay in them. There was also no ice machine or vending machine on our floor. The location is great we walked outside om Saturday and were pleasantly surprised the have a huge farmers market right outside. Overall I would recommend and stay again.

Black lady who was working midnight shift at the front desk 7/8 night going into 7/9 WAS RUDE. INCONSIDERATE AND TREATED PAYING CUSTOMERS like we were nothing. She doesn’t even speak back as you are speaking to her. I wasn’t going to leave a review although I was a bit upset about hotel not having a microwave in the room, BUT SHE definitely added to the fuel. She’s older and seems bitter. Just my observation, not something that should be at a friendly hotel’s front desk as I stay in here all the time and NEVER experienced that

Great downtown location. Located where weekend markets are held. Beautiful hotel, modern with a great bar/restaurant area. They also have valet at $25/day. Rooms were clean and bed comfy. We love the Marriott brand and seek them out.

The front desk was very professional and went out of there way to get housekeeping to get our room ready early. The room is clean. Remote needed new batteries and engineering came very quickly and replaced them. Great location

One bad experience after another. The bathroom shower wasn't cleaned before check in (*lots* of hair), the sink was broken, and the amenities like lotion and soap wasn't replaced so I didn't have anything when checking in. Then the next day I walked out of the room for literally 30 seconds for ice and on return my key wouldn't work, so I had to call someone to come up and let me in. Plus one of the water bottles they leave for you by the coffee was already opened. Hotel is a good location but other than that it's awful. Has the appearance of a nice hotel but is falling apart and there's no attention to detail. One plus- the service person who came to my room was super nice and helpful.

This Marriott in Columbia South Carolina was very good. I attended a state wide synod gathering. Starting with the valet parking every employee was pleasant, helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. I would recommend this Marriott and I would love to return.

Short review: Would I stay here again? Absolutely. Longer review: You have two choices in this area: the Sheraton or the Marriott. I stayed at both, and both come with a set of pros and cons, so I’m not gonna talk about the other one here. So the lobby area is huge, the staff is very friendly, fast and accommodating. We had a room swap that was surprisingly fast. The rooms are spacious enough- marginally bigger than the Sheraton. They’re modern and all amenities work fine. The gym was small, outdated and felt a little dirty, but when you’re on the road, sometimes you don’t have a choice and it worked fine. Now you’re probably wondering at this point why I haven’t specified WHY we had to change rooms… we changed because we thought the AC was broken because it was outrageously humid in the room. But the next room was equally humid. So that was a bit of a pointless exercise… everyone in our party, except one person, felt that the humidity was a bit out of control. That all being said, I’m not too picky about these things and for what it’s worth, I would stay here again.

From check in to departure- superb it's such a great location and lots to offer in the surrounding area- on Saturdays they close off the street for community event with food trucks and local vendors. Staff at front desk was very polite and courteous. We came up to support our nephew for Prom and it worked out great. We were able to take some wonderful pics in lobby area.

Typical conference center hotel. I'm sorry but service was slower than many hotels. I called down to reception and a brief hold led to hanging up and going down stairs. The executive lounge had only 1 choice of snack. But did have a fair drink selection. It was also closed weekends. The bar food was good quality. The $14 burger tasted really good. And went with the excellent and hit $4 fries. Given that I travel extensively, I may give this a miss next time. The decor and finish if the hotel was top notch. Tidy clean and modern looking.

Has valet parking but you can park in the parking garage for free yourself also. Rooftop bar has good drinks and food, very friendly service. Breakfast nook called "the vault" inside the lobby is nice, rustic looking with good food. My husband didn't like the bacon egg cheese melt bc he likes his eggs runny but I liked it. Overall, great stay, beautiful rooms, friendly staff. And on Saturdays in the summer, there is a market right on the street outside the hotel with music, dancing, food, and lots of little stands, but it doesn't block off all traffic so you don't have to worry if you still need to go somewhere. Loved our stay here.

Exceptional front desk service. Concierge lounge was a little underwhelming. But provided hot breakfast and hot appetizers in the evening. Location is perfect especially if you're calling on customers in downtown Columbia or have anything going on at the university.

Don't forget to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a resort. This site will compare thousands of hotel sites and usually will have prices much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This place is one of the highest rated in the area. I have been staying here for a long time. If you choose this place you definitely won't be disappointed. Hats off to Christopher at front desk. He helped with minor room issue. Renovation has gone well here, we were there last November during renovations. Rooms are stylish, plenty of space, bathrooms top notch, decor excellent. Location near everything in downtown Columbia

Every time I am in Columbia I will stay at this location. I loved everything about it! It's right downtown and next to everything. They have a parking garage ($15 a day) kinda expensive but🤷🏿‍♀️ they also have valet. Check-in was a breeze, the staff was amazing, rooms were nice! My kids enjoyed the swimming pool. The area was huge, with lots of sitting, clean towels, and overlooked the lobby. A gym was also right inside/next to the pool. They have a restaurant, a bar, and a sandwich shop right on the premises. That weekend a festival was outside right on that strike. It was food trucks and a lot of vendors outside. I found out they do that every weekend. You have to go out early though because it's only until like 1pm. Marriott had their bar guy out front selling drinks as well. Little chairs in front just for their customers to sit and enjoy. I loved it and enjoyed my drink.

No anti slip mats for tub, even by request. I can see lawsuits coming if they don't make them available upon request! Kleenex tissue box empty, called for another, wanted me to come get one... I'm in my pjs, not happening! At this price they can have a room stocked properly! Then placed us in the well-in-advanced reserved room right backed up to the NOISY elevator!, and window facing hwy 26! Sirens constantly! These prices... need better service!

We extremely enjoyed our stay here. Had room service for a reasonable price and then swam in their great inside pool with fresh towels brought out to dry off with. Service and stay was impeccable!!

Disclaimer: my uncle brought me into this hotel specifically to show me the vault door; I did not stay at the hotel. But that vault door…. DAMN. I’ll attach a picture of it so that you can see it for yourself. I couldn’t begin to explain how intricate and protected this this is. I will also attach a picture I took of some art that they had on display in the main lobby. It was intriguing and yet creepy, to me anyway. Anyway, based on my very limited experience, I thought the place was great. Also worth mentioning that the lobby was impeccably clean. Take that for what you will! 10/10

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Construction is ongoing so you can expect noise starting around 7am and going throughout the day. I was traveling for work so the noise wasn’t an issue for me. Due to the renovations, the water was turned off one day but I didn’t get notice about it ahead of time. That same day, I told a cold shower because there was no hot water at 6:30am. I stayed in a renovated room which was pretty nice. The bed was very comfortable. There were plenty of USB outlets. The walls seem super thin though, I could hear the alarm from a neighboring room going off in the morning.

The noise level in this hotel is why I am giving it a 3 star review. Between the train, the road traffic, the building construction and the fact that the walls are seriously paper thin it is one of the noisiest hotels I have stayed in. The hotel knows this and provides some of the rooms with noise machines. Bring ear plugs and run the fan on the air condition and that will help. The staff here are so incredibly friendly. Love that they serve warm cookies too. Every staff member would talk to you! They all made you feel so welcome! Location is great and that's why I stay here. I ask for a room that faces away from the train and stay higher up! Pool is nice and I love the adjacent lounge area with the fireplace.

This hotel was one of the worse experiences I’ve ever had. Room was not clean, toilet seat was cracked and the lobby flooded. I inquired ahead of time about getting a room upgrade and was told I’m getting a junior suite. When I arrived I basically got a standard room with a wall in the middle that had a cracked toilet seat and the air wasn’t working properly. When I inquired downstairs with the manager about getting one of the regular suites he said you have the biggest room that we have available and that those suites are only for people who are doing conventions. This was on a Friday and there were no conventions going on. I guess Marriott doesn’t care about its ambassador status folks. The food was also terrible I will never stay at this hotel again what a dump. The The manager was extremely dismissive towards any of my feedback.

They are under renovations and if you want to be woken up at 8 in the morning with someone over your head drilling through the ceiling, then this is your place to be driven nuts! (Audio of renovations above my head are available on here under photos in case anyone is curious if I am over exaggerating or not). The lady up front stated it is on their website and signs in the lobby but I had no idea since a company booked the room for us. I didn't see any signs posted as I wasn't particularly looking for them. I was up all night due to some ungodly sound that reminded me of someone beating on the plumbing system (this wasn't renovations but something else that I can't explain) and now I can't rest because they're above my head drilling. (Other staff at hotel stated there were other individuals on the same floor as us complaining as well, wasn't front staff). I mean, when I go on a mini vacation, I want to rest and relax. This is absolutely ludicrous and I'd suggest staying away from this place until their "renovations" are over. I understand renovations must occur but it looks like they could wait until a little later, maybe 9ish or so. I am livid right now and I know in the future to check to see if any hotels are under renovations. Needless to say, this has taught me a lesson......Overall impression right now is a no no and a 1 star. The room isn't bad. (Stayed in worse accommodations). The bed is hard as a rock. The staff was friendly except the lady I spoke to about the drilling above my head and the 2nd guy I spoke with as well. The plumbing sounds like someone ripping pipes out of the wall at 2am. The location is nice. Parking is a pain but again I've had worse. Nice lobby. The housekeeping staff is precious, kind and sympathetic. Let me also add that the front desk seemed unsympathetic and could care less. I know they can't do anything about the noise but they could be a little more sensitive to customers' concerns and not so dismissive and like, "oh well".

Stayed here for a work conference. Room is dated and feels damp, but other than that, it's got comfy beds and it's not too loud. Depending on what side you're on, there is an Emergency Room entrance across the street, so light sleepers may want to ask for a room not on the ER side.

  • 3/5 Tim E. 2 years ago on Google
I've stayed here before, not my preferred hotel for Columbia, SC. It was booked as part of a conference. The rooms are dated and when we arrived they had to turn the water off to the building from noon until 3 (or 5pm). I think it will be better after the update they are working on and I am guessing I will be back at some point regardless of my viewpoint as we tend to do meetings there.

  • 4/5 Judy H. 2 years ago on Google
Hotel easy to get to in Columbia. Paid parking is next door. The parking voucher didn't work when I exited so had to pay after all. Rooms are older and haven't been refurbished in some time and show signs of wear. However, the rooms are very clean. The staff was extremely nice and helpful in every capacity. The restaurant serves a wonderful breakfast. Meting room was nice, clean and the food and beverage service was on time and delicious.
