I was visiting town alone and wanted a place to hang out and maybe meet some nice people. Local Bar was it! The bartender, Taylor, was amazing and made me feel like a friend within no time. The other patrons were a good time as well. This place was one of the more enjoyable bars I've been to in a long time. Taylor made a great drink - the "Taylor's Special" - that was perfect! I loved it!

This was one of my favorite bars in the area. It was. Then, once I had to dispute the drinks on my charge, I was met with incredible hostility. I was not given any reason or understanding. One of the bartenders, who had been loudly saying my last name all night, was the first to call me out for not tipping on a tab I was not reasonably responsible for. I wanted to tip the proper 20% as I do but was trying to do that in the tab I actually paid for. This can be responded to by the business, but make no mistake: when you are in the wrong, they will only protect themselves. If the excuse is that the bartender that had served me was now off the clock and drunk then you should think twice about trusting any of them. I was only trying to understand why I was charged more than I was, and I was met with hostility, mostly by the bartender that thought he was safe because he was off the clock. Regardless of if people I don't even know erroneously bought drinks on my tab, I was met with the worst and most aggressive staff you could ever come across at a bar that makes more money than I could ever excessively tip. Disregard any response this gets, nice or not, this is an incredibly harsh reaction from this that have been amazing bartenders to me for the last 6 years. Tl;Dr Go to Oddfellows

Fun bar with some of the best drink prices in the Short North. Attracts a very diverse crowd, the digital jukebox keeps people dancing all night, and each time I've visited (about 4 times), the atmosphere has a positive vibe. Patrons are generally friendly, open to conversation, and do not cause trouble from my experience. I only downgraded my rating to 4 stars because they really could use another 2 bathrooms to avoid very long lines when it is busiest.

My husband and I had a good experience here. Good drinks and great company!! The bathroom walls are also very intriguing. I definitely like the playboy covers that you have all over the bathroom walls as a wallpaper!!

Hark! I entered The Local Bar on yestereve and was sorely disappointed with mine experience. The ale was tepid and lackluster, and the ambiance was no better than a peasant's tavern. Verily, the staff was uninterested in providing quality service, and mine queries went unanswered. 'Tis a shame, for I had high hopes for this establishment. I shall not be returning.

It was a cute small local bar that was extremely cheap. Love that they had karaoke midweek. It's a very diverse crowd which is really really great to see in Ohio. I would totally go back here again if I'm in that area.

The only decent bar in an awful, over-gentrified section of town. Amazing bartenders, great, beer selection, and a must go if you're in the service industry. One negative, which ties into the service industry thing; the lines for the bathroom take forever because everyone is just doing coke.

Nice place, nice atmosphere and nice cocktails. Perfect for a first date.Beautifully chilled bar with fabulous cocktails . Great service. Perfect for friends gathering as it's not too loud and I love the ambience. Feels like I was in a chill wine bar. I'll be back.

Don't go here, the people are unruly, Queer, creative hooligans with excellent taste in music. Way too friendly. Prices are shamefully reasonable. Pool games are way too fun. Please don't go here. Support large corporations, not local bars! #Keep614Secret

This place…… Is incredible. Take your happiest memories of your parents/grandparents mid-century modern home and throw in a GREAT bar and a Poole table. PLUS there’s karaoke on Wednesdays. Take over the Touch Tunes and chill for a while. Can’t recommend enough. Just come here. DO IT.

Great staff, stiff drinks, and a fun atmosphere! Plus the pool table and darts are a great way to pass some time.

I've been coming here for years (i also work for the company.) Last night, I stopped in to take a quick shot before I walked home, and the bartender was nasty and rude rolled her eyes at me because I asked for an esplon and forgot to say reposado and she had poured a quarter of an ounce into the glass before i stopped her. I've never felt more uncomfortable at local than the 5 minutes I was in there last night.

Cool atmosphere and bar right off high street. Parking out front depending of time of Friday. Always fast Bar service, and they have 2 dart boards and a pool table. Only 2 restrooms though which gets annoying especially later in the night. Great place for drinks though!

Sam and Nate are the best bartenders ever. All of them are great, super chill bar. Lots of great memories here.

Bartenders were pretty good. Only complaint was that the bartender didn't refill my water for me upon request and instead pointed me to a station across the bar. Wouldnt have been an issue except couldnt get away due to watching my friends drink and phone whike they were in the bathroom

Irreverent sometimes seedy crowd. My opinion may be biased because I had my wallet pickpocketed there. Just keep belongings close and secure.

Wednesday karaoke at this hole in the wall can never disappoint. Play some pool, meet some new friends, always expect cheap well made drinks. Most of the drama and trashiness of high street never makes its way into Local. See you there!

I live in the neighborhood and can certify that this is one of the better wine bars. Every time I bring friends here they love it. Food is so fresh and tasty. Great wine selection. Friendly servers. Cozy ambiance.

It was a quiet night in the Short North. So I was in and out of several places. It seemed to have a quaint and laid back atmosphere, the drink was nice and strong, and the bartender was pleasant. Will definitely try it again in the future

The bartenders here are amazing and I have not had quicker and better service anywhere else. Courtney was absolutely amazing!!! Great atmosphere with great staff make for a good time!
