We came on a Thursday night, and it wasn’t too busy. They seemed to be pretty understaffed. Our server took our drink order and we asked her to come back to order food. About 10 minutes goes by and the bartender then becomes our server and we give her our food orders. We later asked about our drinks that we previously ordered and the first server didn’t relay the message. So there was a wait on the drinks for some time. When we received our food we also did not have flatware to eat and had to chase down the bartender for help because she couldn’t hear or notice us trying to get her attention. The Mac and cheese was delicious and the burger was cooked perfectly. It was good but very pricey for the value and the service that was provided.

It's definitely a chill place to go for drinks & have a snack with friends. The only reason I gave it a 3/5 is because the service was not great the last two times I went there and the menu is misleading. Here's a breakdown of my experience: Food: I absolutely love that the kitchen is open until midnight! And the food really does taste amazing for being "bar food." There are healthier options available, but I definitely recommend the fries! I'm gluten-free and I had no problem finding some great menu items and ciders to enjoy. Service: This was my biggest issue, any time we needed something, we had to make eye contact from across the bar/flag down our server, who was talking to the bartender behind the counter every time. When I asked for a box for my food, the server brought it and cleared our plates, but left without asking if we were ready for the check and never came back, so we once again had to flag them down to ask for the check. Menu: While there are great options, the descriptions were somewhat misleading, but that could just be me. I expected the sharable peppers to be small sharable-sized peppers for a group, but they ending up being 2 very large peppers that were super messy & difficult to cut. The Buffalo chicken dip we ordered was amazing, but it didn't come with the dipping items listed on the menu and the chips broke upon touching it, which got very frustrating. That being said, overall it's a good place for drinks & food, just needs a few tweaks to really great.

We celebrated my best friends 21st birthday here and the experience was AMAZING. The food was fresh and delicious, the drinks were great, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Our server Layne was extremely accommodating, and beyond friendly. We will be coming back and telling all of our friends about it!

If you're on the hunt for a new spot to hang out with your friends or take a date, I can't recommend City Tavern enough. My friends and I hit it up last Friday for the first time, and let me tell you, it was a blast. Our server, Elise, was a total babe and had the best recommendations for us. She helped us pick out the perfect appetizer to share, which was amazing. The atmosphere was cozy and intimate, with great drinks and a menu that'll make your mouth water. If you're looking for some yummy bites to share with your pals or your boo, City Tavern's got you covered. And the best part? The service is amazing. Elise was so friendly and knowledgeable, and she really made our night special. Overall, I'd say City Tavern is definitely worth checking out. It's a great place to chill with your friends or enjoy a romantic night out. Don't just take my word for it, though - go give it a try for yourself!

Always great to find a local spot with a great reputation and see them back it up. My family and I went there and enjoyed all of the food we ordered. The server/bartender was busy, but dinnerly held her own, keeping our table together, while not missing a beat with her other patrons. Pricing was also good, and is reasonable, especially for families.

We had a great time, we were there on a business conference. Waitress was nice and made sure our drinks were kept full. Food was really good and well priced!

Was a nice spot. We came with some friends and some kids. The spicy chicken sandwich was amazing. The fries were good. The pretzels were good. The draft beer was also good. I would recommend!

We weren’t able to eat here because the tables were not normal height to be used with a wheelchair. There were only high top tables and seats at the bar. The staff said there was a handicap entrance at the back door but did not know how to unlock the door. The front door had several steps to get into the building.

My new favorite spot. I've ordered the veggie burger 2-3 times a week for a year. THAT'S how good it is. Now I stop by & the service, staff, environment, food, drinks are perfect. Five well deserved stars.

Always great! Solid beer selection and above average bar food. Salads are very fresh with excellent toppings and a good selection of options for the most discerning guests. City drummies are a great deal and their wings and burgers are also well above average. The staff is friendly, easy going and warm. Free parking makes this location a hit with locals and those visiting the area as well.

I love this place. Great food that fits any budget or dining preference, an extensive cocktail and beer menu with one of the best bourbon lists in the city, and friendly/attentive/accommodating service. Add to all that one of the best views of the downtown skyline and free parking and you have a neighborhood bar/restaurant that’ll keep you coming back. Highly recommended!

I love this spot. Every week I’m like, “where should I go for dinner?” And every week I’m like “Wendy’s.” But I’m really trying to class up my life a bit. I don’t want to be too boojy, so Spaghetti Warehouse is out (RIP), but City Tavern really cuts the mustard as a great go between. Super fun staff and people hanging out. I love the atmosphere. Columbus’ best bar!

Food delivered. Food was “ok”. Very basic and nothing stood out. Was not a bad experience but was just “meh”. I asked for no feta in the side salad but it came with feta anyway.

First visit to the City Tavern. We ordered apps, sandwiches, flatbread, fries, salads and drinks. The food was excellent as was the service. We will stop here again on our next trip to Columbus.

Had a great experience on my first visit to City Tavern! Our cocktails were solid and the draft selection has everything I look for. The pulled pork sandwich was a treat. I loved the view of the downtown skyline. Same owners as Ledo's and Park Street Tavern. I'll be back soon.

Very good bar food. Everything is fresh to order and very well done. Beers are a bit pricey but they often have specials. Great atmosphere for sports watching.

We chanced upon this place a couple of years ago when we were in town looking for someplace to eat. We've since made it a point to stop here whenever we're in the city. Good food, good beer selection, good service.

best impossible burger in town.. awesome fries to boot. I regularly got pick up here for past year plus and the serving/bar team were always terrific. Now that I live in a spot where i can get delivery I'm still enjoying this as a weekly treat.

Went for the first time last night. Very nice place. Low key and staff was great. Jenna the bartender made the best drinks and had great recommendations. I'll definitely be back soon.

Horrible food, we ordered food late but those who dine the end of the evening deserve the same as those who come early. Caesar salad was a JOKE wilted lettuce, store bought croutons , also here's a hint TRY REAL PARMESAN, you certainly charge enough, the fake Parmesan they used was as hard as a rock. The dressing was so oily.... my question is "Have you ever had a Caesar salad. The Ruben we ordered was a soggy mess, the bread wasn't toasted or grilled and stale in the parts that weren't wet. Fries were so greasy that you could literally pour oil from them. HOW can this place survive, typically I will give a place a second chance but not here!!

EXCELLENT shaved “housemade” corned beef for Reuben, though $14 might be a bit pricey for sandwich size( does come with one side though). Champagne vinaigrette quite light and tasty for house salad. First Time and a Take Away order , but would return and for dine in, cool atmosphere

Had rueben for St Patrick's day. It was amazing. It had great balance and size. Good amount of cheese and meat. The sauce was good and not overwhelming. I highly recommend! I will need to check out the rest of their menu!

Been coming here for years! Great hang out spot with several TVs for watching games, a well stocked bar, nice variety of food on the menu, and reliable service. I love the Greek fries! Also convenient to find a downtown restaurant with enough parking!

You ever really crave a type of food, anticipate it, and realize you made the wrong choice after the first bite? That was my experience here. For the price of the food it didn’t seem that the quality matched up. I’ve had juicier and more flavorful burgers at Wendy’s for $8 less… Burger: Seemed like a pre made frozen patty, extremely dry, 3 minuscule and overcooked mushrooms on top, and no aioli as was advertised. Fries: Dry and had that slightly burnt taste. Additionally, they forgot toppings on the side that came on another burger. I don’t know if whoever was in the kitchen that day didn’t care but I won’t be spending money on this place again. I could have gone anywhere else and gotten a better burger for the same or lesser price. Disappointing to say the least.

Found a dead ladybug in my Caesar salad and was too grossed out to eat anything else. Ordered take out via Grub Hub.

I was at City Tavern last night with some friends from out of town. I have never met a more unprofessional pair of bar tenders. One was Amber (I think?) And the other I didn't get the name of, but we will call Karen To start, non attentive would be kind. I stood for 15 minutes waiting for service at a bar that was half seated. Only after yelling to get their attention was I able to get a drink. Amber went and sang karaoke while Karen wasn't behind the bar, effectively leaving it unmanned. My buddy got the wrong beer twice, our car bombs were under poured, and they were more concerned with having a good time instead of doing their job. When we were leaving, my friend left a tip of 6.66 on her 32 dollar bill, for which Karen became so offended, she pushed one of the girls with us, tried to fight the two, and then threatened to call the police for "assault" against my friend who pushed her back in defense. This was in full view of the cameras mind you. By far the worst experience I've had with bar tenders in a long time. We all left a tip, and yet that wasn't good enough for Karen. Do not go here, avoid it.

Passing through town and stopped for lunch. I had the bacon, tomato grilled cheese with tomato bisque and a side of fries, my partner had Cajun wings and a salad. Dynamite food! We were both thrilled and mine was exactly what I was looking for after a long road trip. Great service, reasonably priced. Really wonderful experience for both of us!
