Your standard El Vaquero that offers typical Americanized Mexican food and drinks. This location could probably use an interior upgrade as it’s the same as I remember over 15+ years ago. Food is what you’ve come to expect and prices have risen like everywhere else. Happy hour is your best bet to get a deal.

Big restaurant, great ambiance and I just loved the dine inn area. Also they had both inside and outdoor seating. Food was not up to the expectations especially the service. Food was quick but the service was slow May be they were tired already as we visited this place around 9 pm. Cheese tacos was not good, Fried IceCream and Flan from the desserts were good. Added some captures from this place ……..

Food not look tempting and full of Sauce! I arrived there to pick up my dinner (staying in hotel near by. The Guacamole tasted like it bought in a supermarket! The chips wasn’t fresh and my Mexican rice ball looks like the chef vomit it. The stuff were nice. The food not!

Came in today for a team lunch and everything was great! Our server kept our drinks full which was not an easy task and the food was delicious! Everything came out fast and hot. Every time I come to El Vaquero the staff is always very friendly and experience is always great, today was no different!

Just had lunch with my coworkers at this location and had a great time! The food was amazing and the staff was so nice. The service was quick and all our drinks were filled without us even asking. The manager checked in a few times as well to see how we were doing. I would highly recommend coming to this location! We will be back!

This place was hopping. Our server (Marissa) was phenomenal, never missed a beat, even though she had a 20 top and 4 more tables. Didn't flinch when an unexpected joiner was added to our 3 top. Plates were abundant, well prepared and presented. Drinks were amazing. What a delightful treat for our party of 4 (even our male "karen"). Will definitely go back on our next visit to Columbus (which I pray is NEVER!).

Great food. Loved the fajita'sand fried ice cream. The chips and salsa are great and come free. Small charge to add cheese (queso) for dipping. Never had fried ice cream before, but would definitely recommend it.

El Vaquero team was awesome. We had a memorial service for my mother-in-law and reserved their meeting space for our guests. Food was great as always. Thank you all for being so kind and just letting us hang out after lunch to talk and share memories 😊

The finest Mexican restaurant on Olentangy River Road. Great environment, the food is absolutely fantastic, and the service is authentic! I will be back here the next time I'm in the area!

Service was good, the atmosphere is what I've come to expect from many similar restaurants. Yet the flavors and sensations didn't live up to what I've had back home. It was good, just not great. The portions were big, and authentic for Ohio. If there's time, i might be back.

Always great food and efficient service. We were part of a very large party in the back room. Food was delivered hot and they didn't have a problem with cutting separate checks (sorry). Great experience all around !

The food was good. I was really happy that they had a frozen watermelon margarita!! Most places just have the basic flavors, so that was a plus! Our server was friendly, but there was a slight language barrier. I did ask for no guacamole and it was on my receipt as no guacamole as well.... but my food came out with guacamole. No biggie, I just gave it to my aunt who loves it. I would go back again.

Chips are fresh and warm served with delicious salsa. Their margaritas are huge and refreshing! Steaks cooked perfectly but rice could be more flavorful. Good service

I came in here for restaurant week. To be honest, the prices are so low, you could come here any time, and eat your fill for under $20. I think the restaurant week deal only saved me like $2. Anyway, the food was excellent, and I love the ambience. The fried ice cream was amazing.

I stopped by this place when I was staying at the hotel behind it. The service was terrific, even accommodated my off-menu order. The food was really good. The al-pastor was a little less spiced than I'm used to but still really good. Their chips and salsa were top notch. Their prices were very reasonable. I recommend you stop by.

This is the fourth El Vaquero. Restaurant I have dined at in the Greater Columbus area, and it’s the star of the team! Hands down the best service and meal out of the group so far. And I don’t think it has anything to do with the fact the server talked us into a pitcher of margaritas. Well done Riverside!

Good options. The waitress first asked what drink we prefer and we told water with no ice...lol.... However she was wonderful and quickly taken our orders and also came fast. Tastewise good and ambience was quite well. I prefer slow music but I don't complain about the music being played if food is good. Definitely I will come back when visiting Columbus

This place was so so good! Was busy when we came in yet were sat almost instantly with a smile. Food came quickly and was honestly fantastic. This was by far the most diverse menu I’ve seen in a Mexican restaurant. 110% recommend!!

Nice outdoor patio seating area with some nice landscaping bushes and planter flowers. Great menu, service from Sergio, and food was hot and very good. Beef was tender and had excellent seasonings. Vegetarian cheese enchiladas had nice selection of added vegetables and was delicious too. Gracias for the hard work everyone!

This place is under rated. Definitely should have a higher rating. There food is season to perfection, everything I've had has been delicious. This my 2nd day in a row coming this place and I loved it. Margaritas are amazing as well. I'll definitely be back.

The prices were pretty ridiculous, and I didn't feel like paying almost 20 for a normal plate of food. I got the six dollar cup of soup which was pretty much just a little bit of shredded chicken in some broth. Was pretty disappointed with my visit.

Lunch here today! Beef enchiladas,red beans and rice. Got to say that I would recommend this for good Mexican food. At least 150 different choices. Lunch specials 11 to 2pm. Large outdoor seating area available.

Had the chicken taco salad. It was amazing. Great service! Chips/salsa were so good& warm. I'm learning Spanish& I was able to communicate with my waiter just fine. It was a fun learning experience. Can't wait to go back

Our server Danny was lovely. Warm Chips and salsa were delivered the minute we sat down. The service was amazing. Everything came out so fast. The flavors were delicious. Also, the happy hour goes until 8pm!

This was my first time at El Vaquero. The service was verb fast and friendly. I had the pork Yucatan style. It was a little dry but very tender and overall quite good. Unfortunately, I give the experience 3 stars because the table salsa and the black beans were both too sour for my liking.

This is one of the few restaurants in Columbus that brings me anger when I think about it. I recommend you avoid this place - that is the kindest gift from my heart that I can give to you. El Vaquero has margaritas made of pure sugary mix, with perhaps a splash of tequila. A headache is guaranteed, but not from the sugar content and half a shot of liquor, but from your profound sense of regret that you've been hornswaggled into the worst, weirdly over-hyped, gutter-quality, Tex Mex possible. You have to believe me on this. Now I love authentic Mexican, but I also like to chill out and just have a good time. That is, I like queso and piles of tortilla chips, rice and beans swimming together with a pinch of iceberg and diced tomatoes accompanying my food - however - you will not receive this kind of satisfaction from El Vaquero. Please return to the search feature and move along - This is not the one. Also, please be aware that their happy hour menu has been drastically reduced.

Really delicious and filling chimichangas! The service was great and attentive. Churros are highly recommended for a nice finish to your meal.

They accommodate the 20 of us in a large room with a good amount of space. To my taste it was a bit noisy. The waitress were all very friendly. The food was good and abundant for the price. We found the margarita was quite low in tequila which probably is reasonable since it is a family restaurant and there still was a happy hour, still what we got was not what we expected. Overall it was a positive experience.

The food and service were excellent! It's hard to pick anything on the menu as it all looks and sounds so good. I settled on a vegetarian burrito and it was delicious. It only took about 15 minutes to get our food, and it was on Valentines day. We went at about 4:30 and that appears to be the time to get in and out quickly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Everything about this restaurant was a great experience for me. I was especially surprised in that I could individually taste each ingredient in my Grand Burro Shrimp. Nothing was over powering something else and it was very filling.

It has been a while since I have been here since the Plague. The food was good as usual. The waiter was pleasant but mediocre at best. He was like a helpful space cadet. He forgot about everything but the check. He did the bare minimum. But I cannot blame the restaurant for his behavior. Maybe he had a bad day.

Service was terrible. Got there and waited a bit for a host which I understand. We were seated and it took about 10 minutes for our waitress to find us. We ordered drinks and they were all correct so no complaints there. It then took another 10 minutes for her to come back for our order when we said we were ready when we got the drinks. Food got out quick, but it was mediocre at best. Huevos rancheros were lacking flavor, the rice was over cooked and tough, but the beans were decent. Nothing was very fresh or good. We finished our food relatively quickly and waited a half hour with our dirty plates on the table before our waitress even bothered to look at us after walking past 10 or so times. I had to wave her down and get the bill. The lady at the front where we paid had a lot of attitude and was rather rude. Over all a mid experience and I would not go back.

This place is always great! We’ve never had a bad experience when dining here and we frequent this place at least 2-3x a month. Their service is always quick and friendly.

When you order the Jumbo!! Great food, great ambiance, great house drinks! Met a friend and had a WONDERFUL time! Spent several hours here & never felt rushed... Highly recommend!!

The food was great fresh amazing. I had a quesadilla with refried beans for side a guacamole. That mango tea has alcohol in it it was not strong at all. Definitely was not worth $10. We ate outside and the only complaint that I have is the bees.
