One of the best vegan burgers I’ve had. Northstar Cafe always deliver quality healthy food with friendly service. Near by parking, metered parking, and parking garages.

What a cute place to start off your day! This place was a hit for our group, so we ate there twice in five days! Handicapped accessible entry, outdoor seating, easy to get to seats inside. The restrooms were really nice, clean and Handicapped accessible as well. Now the food is freshly made, flavorful, and the menu is flexible, I'm sure you'll find something to order to your liking! We enjoyed the oatmeal, fresh squeezed orange juice, juicy sausage patties, eggs scrambled with cheddar cheese, and let's not forget to mention the delightful ricotta pancakes!!! Oh my!!! Delish. The breakfast sandwiches pleased also! Yes, I definitely recommend trying this Breakfast Cafe! I plan to eat there again on my next visit to Columbus!!!

Great food and THAT GINGER ALE THO'!!!! But the most impressive part was a brief conversation between the host/cashier and manager. I'd requested a fruit bowl substitute instead of meat. The host then asked the manager if that was possible. The manager discreetly replied, "The guest can always substitute any menu item. We want them to enjoy their entire meal." I'm a fan!

Very good food in a unique atmosphere. "Cafe" says it all. You order at a counter and they bring food to you. There is also a separate bar. Had the "Earth Day" veggie burger - Thank you Northstar Cafe!

Oh we found another GEM on High St. Fresh, healthy, and tasty. Absolutely worthy of returning to try more on the menu. We had Ginger beer, Village Salad, Chicken and avacado sandwich with wild rice side. Finished up with coffee and a shared pastry. Its a warm and inviting environment. Great for friend get togethers to couples dinners. Northstar Cafe also has a bar to check out with seasonal specialty drinks.

Incredible breakfast burrito and coffee here! Good kids options, healthier menu selections as well as indulgent items. It was packed on a Sunday morning so keep that in mind! You go up to the desk to order and pick your own seats here.

A very classy and elegant environment at an affordable cost. The food was phenomenal! I had the Buddha bowl as well as the dark chocolate truffle cookie along with sweet potato fries! High quality for sure! Huge fan. Glad this was my first experience of food in Columbus, I’ll be back the next time I come through town.

This might be the best interior Northstar location. I don’t know why, but I prefer it to the Clintonville location. I think the atmosphere of the Short North location interior just has more natural lighting. The Clintonville location has superior outdoor seating. All the food brought to the table for our group was high quality. You price for the meals matches the quality of the ingredients and the dish. A must recommend fast casual sit down dining spot.

This breakfast was wonderful! The ingredients were fresh, and the flavors were magnificent. The biscuits were sweeter than expected, but they paired well with the preserves. The eggs were cooked to perfection. The bacon and sausage were both wonderful. I'm so glad that we took the time to have breakfast here!

Northstar is consistently great. This location is really nicely laid out you order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. I love the house made ginger ale and the sandwiches are always incredible. Make sure to get the side salad and enjoy the house made croutons!

We had such a great time at breakfast! The mushroom frittata was cooked perfectly and so delicious!! Highly recommend the sausage breakfast sandwich and green drink as well. We sat outside on the patio. The weather was perfect for dining outside in the morning. It's definitely a must try if you're in the area.

Tried this place for the first time on Saturday and it was delicious! I had the sweet potato hash and my husband got the pancakes. We also split a biscuit with gravy. The drinks were absolutely wonderful as well. Clean, well kept establishment. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely eat here again!

Went here for brunch with friends from the area. You go in the store and order at the front. you then get a buzzer and take your seat they bring you the food. Service was good. Everything everyone ordered was excellent. The ham and cheese scone was really good. And was about 5$ so not too expensive. I would return.

I had an incredible egg sandwich with avocado and bacon. Even the carafe drip coffee was delicious with a few single-origin options to choose from. Prices are a tad steep but the meal made it feel justified.

Typically they offer good food at above average price. Lately they have been cancelling online orders left and right without notice. We placed an order to be delivered 1.5 hours later (because that was the only available time) and they cancelled the order 30 minutes before the expected delivery time. Two weeks ago, a similar case happened when we paid with a gift card. We got an email saying that the gift card didn’t have sufficient funds but that we could pay at the door. Well that was a straight lie because we called the store and they told us they had cancelled the order. If it wasn’t because my fiancé likes their food I wouldn’t order a single thing from this place anymore. Terrible customer service is an understatement.

A Columbus staple. Perfect for anytime of day with any type of company. If you know you know and if you don’t then you’re gonna want to. All their entrees are delicious but the Buddha bowl and beet/goat cheese salad are personal favorites. Staff is excellent too!

Stopped by here while I was working in Columbus last month. Great spot to pop in and grab a quick bite after work. Highlight was the Northstar Burger. Quick and convenient, great vegetarian options, solid margaritas too. Service was excellent. Will absolutely be back next time I’m in town!

Absolutely delicious. The one thing I would change next time is ordering something else rather than the Granola Yogurt. It tasted wonderful but is priced nearly the same as everything else.

We stopped in for breakfast. There is a patio, but we sat inside. You go up and order at the counter, but they bring you your meal. The coffee was very good. I had fresh squeezed orange juice, WOW!! My wife had a blueberry smoothie, WOW again!! Our food was amazing, eggs were perfect and the sausage was delicious. Adding to this delightful meal was the biscuits, soft and fluffy and the jelly that came with them was the best I've ever tasted. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, and I really hope to stop again soon!!

This restaurant is definitely one of the best options in Columbus! The service is terrific, the food is healthy and delicious, and the environment is clean and neat. We went on a beautiful sunny day. Patio seats were already occupied, but sitting inside was still cozy and comfortable. All of my friends were astonished about its renovation. Now it is spacious and beautiful. Their ginger ale and smoothies are must-haves. We all loved the food, and we all cleaned up our dishes. I have to say they are exceptional at cooking rice. Even my friend, who hates wild rice, couldn't resist their food. We had a chance to talk to one of the founders. Surprisingly, she was so low-key and served and greeted all the guests. So welcoming. I have no reason not to suggest you give it a try.

I give 4 stars because the orange juice and Chicken avocado sandwich is amazing. Today I tried their egg burrito and unless you really really like corn, I'd suggest you not buy it. It's something I will not finish. Every bite tastes like corn. When you read roasted veggies my mind went to peppers and onions and greens like spinach but this seems to only have corn. Very disappointing and not appetizing at all.

Perfect cold brew, nicely layered. Great with a stash of oat milk. The grilled chicken avocado toast was amazing. With some healthy grains mix salad aside.

Order at the Register and Seat Yourself is how I prefer to have a brunch spot. It was our first time here. The egg sandwich was good but needed the sausage to make it good. The Sunrise burrito was probably the best thing in town to eats for Brunch. Iced Coffee with mint was a chance I took and it was worth it. Great helpful wait staff. This is a prime brunch spot!!!

Had the pimiento burger which was cooked to perfect flavor. The sweet potatoes fries were crisp and light when chewed - probably the best I’ve had. For the price of $17, I’d say you’re overpaying for a lunch meal, but if you value quality, flavor, and great service, it’s more than worth it.

Only had breakfast here, but it was amazing! We did the cowboy, two days in a row. Those scrambled eggs were the best eggs I have ever eaten! We did bacon, and sausage with our meal, that sausage was amazing. We were impressed with the service there as well. Everyone was accommodating, and asking if you needed anything. We will definitely come back our next time in town!

Delicious. I actually love meat but I recently decided I need to start eating more vegan options. This Thai burrito did not disappoint. The only thing that didn’t mesh with the burrito was the parsley. It felt kind of independent to the pallet of flavors it gave. I would ask to remove in the future. I chose tofu as my protein. I typically still feel hungry after eating all veggies but , I'm full. Very good. I also got the carrot cake. Yummy

I recently had breakfast at Northstar and I must say, the food was excellent! I tried the mushroom frittata and burrito and both dishes were bursting with flavor. It was evident that everything was made from fresh, high-quality ingredients, and it really made a difference in the taste. The service was quick and efficient, and the location was also convenient. Overall, I had a great experience and would highly recommend this restaurant

Great atmosphere. Quiet in the mornings. The cloud nine pancakes were served with warm syrup and are the best I’ve ever had.

I just want people to know that the lunch menu and the dinner menu vary. I love the Thai burrito but they don’t have it for dinner. VERY DISAPPOINTING. Made a special trip just for that but had no idea it was just a lunch option. Big bummer. So you may want to call if you’ve got a hankering for something specific cuz it might not be available. Hope this helps ya. Ended up with the pizza. It was good but it ain’t no burrito.

This, my friends, is a $34 dollar meal. Just so you know. They are slowly losing their mind. Hand is there so you can see how SMALL that is. Is it delicious, yes. Is it dinner? Maybe for your kid.

Overall, nice spot for breakfast or brunch. You order first and then find a seat second, my group of three adults and one child sat outside. The food came out very staggered, even though we all ordered at the same time.

I've eaten the cheesesteaks from Geno's in Philly, so I know what a good and authentic cheesesteak really is. This place is JUST AS GOOD! The steak is super flavorful and well seasoned.....something you don't get at a 'Philly's Best' chain.

The steak is super flavorful and well seasoned.....something you don't get at a 'Philly's Best' chain. Sandwiches are big enough to split or make into two meals, which is what I did. I was pleasantly surprised that the bread wasn't soggy the next day.

Wonderful prices and the food is great. The wait staff seemed hurried, but they are nice enough. This is a perfect mom and pop owned place with the food to prove it. They have plastic in between some of the seats for COVID restrictions and the wait staff was mostly aviding by masking rules.

One of the best places for delicious, organic food. My only complaint is that they don’t serve my favorite Buddha bowl on weekends when I’m able to go.

  • 1/5 Marty H. 3 years ago on Google
Everything was over flavored. Too much salt mostly and WAY over priced. Probably a go to place if you're a hipster or a yuppie. $48 for breakfast for two of us was ridiculous.

Northstar Cafe sits somewhere between a casual and a formal experience. The TL;DR is that its worth the visit, the food is priced a little high but is mostly worth it and try to head there for breakfast if you can. Food: the breakfast menu is what I'd highly recommend. Doing a brunch with the family is what I'd say is a perfect outing. However, take this as you will, the menu is short. They have a limited set of offerings, but they do them well. Their pizzas are superb. Thin crust and delicious. Their burgers are on super soft and taste freshly made. And are a great size without being difficult to eat. The sides and appetisers are a great selection without making it hard to choose. They are all good options. Drinks: Their drinks are solid. They don't skimp on the alcohol. They have some specials and juice offerings. My recommendation is the Northstar Margarita Northstar offers a bar type seating, booths and outdoor seating. This makes it a great place for a family outing, a quick bar trip or even a date. There is always a small crowd, which is telling of how popular the restaurant is. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the service is decently prompt.

The best pad Thai I’ve ever had! You order before you sit. The setting is lovely, there was also live music on a Saturday night. There’s self serve soft drink and also specialty cocktails and wine for purchase. The menu is very different. This place is a jewel!

First time was very pleasant & they were remarkably gracious with me. Popular & everybody was smiling still midsummer. If I recall the dining it was likely the fish sandwich with chips & else. I was still on a seafood quest after Maryland but I did enjoy a brew that may have been the wheat although if I imbibe usually my initial request is porter or stout. Likely the NoHi which accompanied a flavorful satisfying repast. Recommended by the sweet bird greeting me so ask her.

The food was excellent but for as much as you pay their needs to be waiters. And the place was overcrowded and far too noisy. I am sure the area has plenty of other choices that are not as loud and congested and not have to get your own drinks.
