Such a rich history. Had a very abnormal experience in the dining room. I felt a sudden burst of tears and started bawling my eyes out during the tour. Not sure what happened but I felt fine as soon as I left the room. Beautiful gardens and wonderful staff. If your nearby it's worth the stop.

We called on a Wednesday because we had some time before we went to the airport. The docent said she was there & to come by & knock. We had a lovely tour of the mansion. The docent was very knowledgeable.

We had the most perfect wedding ceremony at Kelton House (our reception was at another location). It made for a beautiful setting and the areas to get ready were all perfect and beautiful. Our guests were even able to tour the museum before the ceremony!

If you're interested in Ohio history or the Underground Railroad, this is the stop for you. A nicely preserved home with a great story. Plan about two hours to really see everything, but you could also have a wonderful trip in just an hour. Insider tip: Although the $7 admission is quite low, you can save $$ by checking Groupon and buying tickets in advance.

Hadn’t got the opportunity to visit this place in a few years as a previous and owner of property over100 years old in the historic Bryden area it’s always great to see the changes and improvements made to locations it was even nicer attending an event I’ve attended a wedding here that is just as beautiful Glad I came the parking is challenging if it’s a busy day otherwise on the street parking is OK there is parking on Franklin Avenue which would be nice to know ahead of time so that you don’t get anxiety trying to find a space and get to your event on time.

We really enjoyed our visit. The costumed guide was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the local history. Unlike many similar places, we were allowed to walk in the rooms and see the historical items up close. We visited on a Sunday afternoon...probably the best time to go.

Beautiful home full of history and intrigue, great stop during our visit to Columbus. The staff was polite and helpful, and gave us a quick layout of the house, we chose the self-guided tour with audio guide. I highly recomend the audio guide for two reasons, without it, it is highly possible to breeze through the house because it isnt that large. And second, it gives a large amount of information about each room, and the artifacts inside.

Such a wonderful little local treasure. We originally took the kids to learn about the underground rail road, but it was only a small part of the presentation. However, it was totally worth it, we learned so much about the history we didn’t know before. We toured the entire house, Cathy was a fantastic guide. As I am completely blind, she made sure I get to touch everything that was available, thank you so much for that, it really made the experience unique. Tours start at certain times, it is worth checking before arriving. We had to wait a bit, though we really enjoyed walking around the garden while waiting.

This museum is a beautifully and meticulously preserved Victorian mansion that is steeped in rich history. I went for Fernando's Funeral and enjoyed the event throughly, and now I find myself wanting to go back to do the full tour. Staff/curators were knowledgeable and memorable, they really made us feel welcome and gave us so much interesting information about the house as well as the family who loved, lived and died there.

My husband, my daughter, and I visited Kelton House last week. It was a wonderful place to visit. Jeff, our tour guide, was great as he explained many historical facts about the house and time period as well as the people who lived there. He appeared to love what he was doing as evident by his tone of voice and enthusiasm. I was very impressed with the Kelton House. It was also tastefully decorated for Christmas and a lovely and historical place to visit. We will be back in a couple of years with friends. The carriage house is also a wonderful place to hold parties and events. I give Kelton House an A plus and 5 stars!

If you’re looking for some cheaper fun to do in downtown Columbus you have got to check out this place. It’s such an interesting fun time. The house/museum is preserved beautifully, and the curator is full of wonderful knowledge and super fun tidbits. Don’t be afraid to ask questions about the pieces and furniture around the house.

A beautiful experience of an early Victorian home. A gorgeous tucked away experience in a local neighborhood. Remember to park in their parking lot near the house on a back street.

Joesph was an excellent tour guide how made my tour very interpersonal. He explains in detail and answers questions well. Not only did this house introduce me to the Kelton family, I also learned about about Ohio during my tour. The house is a couple blocks away from major streets with places to visit and things to do. Before and after my visit, Geff was polite when he issued me a ticket and helped me have a nice time.Take time to visit this house to keep history alive.

I’m an interior designer turned flight attendant. When I get the opportunity to go into older homes/buildings around the country I do! Sarah at the Kelton House showed me around the property and I was fascinated by all the information about the houses interior and the families history! I believe that 90% of the furniture is original from the Kelton family. It was great to see the hand painted china sets and old books. What fascinated me the most were the stories about the family and their evolvement with the Underground Railroad. Thanks again Sarah!

The Columbus Library was having a Holiday Trolley Hop and this was one of the stops! The interior was lovely and had lots of dainty antique dishware and furniture. One room had a Lego cathedral that a woman and her son had spent two years constructing! I was so busy admiring it that I forgot to take photos. Go see it yourself, it's excellent! The basement featured a connection to the underground railround and there were detailed set pieces as well as placards of information. We were offered snacks and beverages in a backroom facing the garden. There were coloring pages out, too.

The Kelton House was an absolute delight to visit; from antebellum Ohio to the 1960's, much of the history of central Ohio can be learned here. The tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly, and the surrounding area is beautiful as well.

If you are looking for insight as to how the Keltons played a role in the Underground Railroad, this is not it. The tour had interesting information on Columbus history and some family stories, and life during the time the house was built but we were pretty disappointed.

Love this and learning the history of this historical monuments! The staff is very friendly. If you haven't done so, you should make a donation of attend events that support The Kelton House Museum and Garden to maintain it's upkeep. Also if you haven't been there before, you definitely need to plan a tour.

We visited this museum on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 2:00 pm, and Stacy and Remi were our wonderful tour guides. We highly recommend a tour of this house and garden due to its rich history, as it was a stop on the Underground Railroad. Stacy taught us a lot of interesting things about the Kelton family and about the history of the 19th and 20th century experiences their family members shared. We learned a lot, and are grateful for the time that Stacy and Remi shared with us. It was an enlightening tour of a beautiful home lovingly restored and well maintained full of fascinating pieces from a successful family in Columbus. Thanks again to our great guides for making this visit fun!

I had one of the most phenomenal experiences at a museum in years. The tour was very unique, detailed, and catered to the Group that was scheduled to attend. I am very excited and happy at the time spent with us and I look forward to another tour. Thank you so much!

I had my wedding there yesterday & it was perfect!! James is literally one of the sweetest, most understanding people/event coordinator’s I’ve ever worked with! Such a beautiful place for our ceremony. I would 10/10 recommend this place for anyones wedding!

I can't say anything about the museum, since I didn't go inside, but the garden is nice although small (granted, that's a limitation imposed by city real estate).

We had our daughter's wedding at Kelton House in August and it was simply lovely...a beautiful garden wedding. Sarah at Kelton House was over the top helpful covering our every need and her expertise as a wedding planner covered several of our oversights. 5 Star recommendation for sure.

An incredibly beautiful piece of history tucked away in Columbus!! I'm so happy we stopped in and got to learn about this family that wanted their gorgeous home turned into a museum for the rest of us to enjoy!! The staff are so friendly and for the cost why wouldn't you want to go!?! We will certainly be back!!

This place has become a sort of sanctuary for me. I call it my very on secret garden. It’s a hidden gem in the heart of olde towne east! I have to pinch myself sometimes because I feel so lucky to have access to this bit of nature in the middle of a city. I spend most of my mornings here, as I like to practice grounding fo start my days. The owners take such a good care of this place and it definitely shows. Thank you so much for creating this beautiful space. It’s truly the highlight of where I live.
