Very cool experience taking the tour. It is fun to see all the stuff about Ohio's past and everything about the Statehouse's past. The rotunda was really pretty, the flag and all three giant paintings are beautiful. The Great Seal of Ohio at the top was an amazing site. I hope to come here again sometime soon! We were unable to visit outside because of the rain. We did get to experience the alarms going off and getting locked down. The kids enjoyed looking for fossils in the floor and walls.

We visited from Cleveland, and it was a wonderful experience to see the Capitol of our own state. Even on a Monday morning it was a quick, painless drive from a nearby suburb where our hotel was. We parked in the garage under the building that was easy to find and very inexpensive (for 2 hours it was $4). We began the free tour in the Map Room that has all of the counties of Ohio in stone, which was a very beautiful tribute to each location. The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the buildings, as well as current happenings in the government. It is a beautifully done Greek Revival style building that has many tributes to the history of Ohio. There is also a very interactive museum that houses modern displays of new government as well as the original Ohio declaration. Everyone was friendly, had a kind welcome and warm smile. We felt so welcome and will be happy to return- an overall great experience. It made us very proud to be Ohioans!

Beautiful, historic Statehouse building which houses the Ohio State House of Representatives and Senate chambers, the Ohio Governor’s office, and other offices. They have both guided tours every hour and self-guided tour (there is a informational brochure for self-guided tour). The rotunda is beautiful! And you can also peek in both chambers. There is an underground (paid) parking garage.

"I recently visited the Ohio Statehouse and was a little taken aback by some of the strange occurrences that I witnessed while there. The building itself is grand and impressive, but it was some of the visitors and events taking place inside that left me scratching my head. First off, there were several people wandering around in elaborate costumes that appeared to have no connection to any sort of event or demonstration taking place. One individual was dressed as a tree, complete with branches and leaves, while another had on a full-body superhero outfit. It was all very unusual and out of place. Furthermore, there were some rather unusual demonstrations happening on the grounds. One group was staging a mock trial, complete with a judge, jury, and witnesses, all dressed in costume. Another was staging a protest in support of alien rights. Again, it was all very bizarre and unexpected. Despite these strange happenings, the Ohio Statehouse is still a great place to visit for its historical and architectural significance. Just be prepared for some weird sights and experiences!" -ChatGPT

The Tour with Patricia was fascinating. She had a lot of knowledge and she was very welcoming. We had a wonderful time, thank you so much. The tour lasted about 60 minutes, tours start every hour from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. There is also a museum to visit, both were free of charge.

Nice place.. I would consider this as the heart of columbus city. I also loved strolling around this magnificent architecture. Surely picture with a lowly mobile phone cannot do justice. Highly recommended anyway.

Wow! This place is amazing. I can't believe I've waited til I was so old to actually take a tour of our Ohio Statehouse. It's definitely a design all to itself. The map room was really cool to see. But just the immaculate beauty of the columns, marble, fixtures, and even the restrooms was interesting to see. We got there just a little bit late, but was able to join the group with Cathy (I believe) being the tour guide. She was inviting and was able to answer most questions. And being a volunteer to be a guide was profound noble deed.

Ohio has a great Statehouse, beautiful architecture, great spaces, and is both visitor friendly and a great place to work for those who participate in Ohio's government.

Great tour!! It was much more interesting than I thought it would be. The kids loved it. Carole the guide was great!! Back with another set of Grandkids! Boy is it a different experience depending on who you get as a tour guide. The kids still had fun though.

Each guide has their own interpretations and vibes. Hope you get a good one ours was a miss. We wanted to learn more educational things rather than the guides personal opinions.

Hourly tours given at the top of the hour, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday thru Friday. Enter off 3rd Street at the Annex Entrance. Meet in the hallway outside the Gift Shop. Museum and exhibits on the same level. This is a public building, and you are free to wander. Private offices or restricted access areas are clearly marked.

I highly recommend this event for anyone even remotely interested in orchestral music. It's one of the coolest environments to experience live music!

Everyone needs to visit the Statehouse and take the tour. So enjoyable and live to hear the history and the random dad joke here and there.

I took a friend of mine to the concert by candlelight music by Queen at the Ohio Statehouse on Feb 15th. It was definitely an enlightening experience. We really enjoyed the atmosphere. I would definitely go to something like this again. I've never been to anything like it.

We took the kids to learn about their capital, it was a great choice. There was something interesting for everyone to enjoy. The experience was interactive for the kids, and there was enough information for adults to read. Highly recommend it to families with school age kids.

Definitely put this on your "places to visit" list. Built with the Greek Revival style architecture and completed in 1861, the Ohio capital remains one of the oldest state capitol buildings still in use today. It is approximately 151 ft. tall at it's highest point.

Loved it Ohio is the best place to go when you need a cheeseburger I loved buying a cheeseburger in the statehouse of Ohio . Also, if you have thoughts of committing suicide a good place to do it is jumping of the top of the OhiO statehouse flag. Also, in the toilets there was a pizza which looked like it had been stampeded down the drain so I tried eating it it was so yummy so fab dabby dosey 🎉🥳🎉🥳🎉🎈🎁. Then, I went to the statue outside and touched its leg then it started twerking on me this is the only downside of the trip as I was deeply bullied by the sight of this. Thanks babes!.

Inside is so massive that you can get lost!! Even finding the entrance is super hard. Hahaha At any entrance you have to go through airport-like security. Not sure which entrance I went into but I couldn’t find where the tours started. So I walked around myself and went to practically every corner of the building getting lost and to knew corners. I somehow made it to the basement museum and found the actual museum/tour entrance. Haha The museum store happened to be located at the beginning of the museum. Very nice place. You can practically go anywhere that doesn’t have a security guard blocking your way. It had an outside in feeling. Like a big forum that looks like it belongs outside the building but is inside. Tours are free!!!

The Ohio state house is a great place to visit. I recommend it to you if you want to learn about Ohio history or just want to see a beauty full place over all. A couple of facts I learned myself are there were 8 total United States presidents that were born from Ohio also I never knew that each state house got a copy of the library bell. The tour guide was very nice and gave lots of facts and she knew the place very well. The outside is also gorgeous it is a nice place to walk around when waiting for the tour to start, there are war letters you can read outside when you wait as well. I had a great time it is definitely worth a try if you are looking to do something.
