IHG continues to set lower standards for itself and then failing to meet them. My stay was 5 nights and total cost of the stay was around $1400. I was told at check-in that I could request one cleaning only during the stay, so I requested it for Sunday and gave 24h notice. Front desk told me that he would need to ‘ask’ housekeeping if they could do it. They did not come on Sunday or Monday and my checkout was Tuesday. It's a 12-floor building and only one out of the 3 elevators work, creating huge congestion in the morning. I was at the same hotel this time last year and it was the same. Have they been broken for over a year? The hotel is dirty, I saw this same piece of popcorn for 3 days in the only working elevator and nobody cleaned it. None of the ice machines work and the a/c in the room smells damp. This hotel would be a rip-off at $50 / night, let alone $240/night. You’ll get better service at a red roof inn or other budget motel at a fraction of the price. Even as a platinum rewards member, they failed to include the amenity points at the start of the stay.

We stayed for a family vacation. The room was enough for four people. We ended up staying in the hotel more than we thought, it was a fun place with kids. The pool is definitely more quiet during the morning, it is open all day long. We really enjoyed the breakfasts, it was big and reasonably priced. The dinner selection wasn’t too big, but everything was great. We are planning to return. Thank you for the great service!

Just awful I stayed 2 days!! It was 350$ then I politely asked 2 housekeepers for information about the restaurant they were both DRUNK. Come on guys drinks up front almost 3$ a random charge of 20$ I asked them to take it off and they told me the couldn’t because of “policy”the location?? Not AS bad but the homeless people? Very rude heard one female say she was on perc30? When I came down for breakfast everything was stale. Waitress only saw me once I didn’t have towels for a whole day? NEGATIVE NO!!! Do not stay here

I would like to say please do not stay here it’s not worth your money. First I didn’t have any towels in my room I called down and asked nicely they told me it was going to a an hour wait because they were understaffed. I asked a housekeeper I remembered her name it was Jennettea she was very nice but rude attitude I stayed for 1 night it cost almost 400 I have no idea why the charged my card 280$ I reported it and they told me nothing. I caught a staff employee in my room while I was gone I thought she was putting towels in my room NOPE no towels at all this is an unsafe, dirty, over rated hotel. Please STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE

Comfortable and clean beds. Showers are good. Only complaint really is the expensive breakfast, 15 dollars per person. It was good but definitely not worth that price. Just offer free breakfast for guests. Decently priced hotel for what it's worth.

Incredibly amazing and friendly staff, 2 ladies in the morning, 2 gentlemen in the evening - all were very attentive, very caring and helpful. Hotel is conveniently located downtown Columbus, OH and has all the amenities including a swimming pool and 24HR gym. Complimentary breakfast was outstanding and staff at the restaurant was phenomenal, even though it was busy at times. I had a great stay, rooms are very nice and clean, got everything you need. Rooms are pretty spacious and have a fridge too. The location and the hotel are safe, cozy and quiet.

I always stay here for events at Nationwide Arena. It's less expensive than the other downtown hotels, but still within walking distance (just under a mile). Room was clean, staff were friendly and helpful, check out time isn't until noon which is great. If you are in town and looking for simple accomodations close to everything, this place is great.

I made a reservation around 3pm, called front desk around 4pm to let them know I would be checking in late because of work, arrived 22minutes past midnight and the front desk lady Nicole told me I couldn't check in because it was past the day of my reservation and very rudely asked why I would expect to have a room even tho i had a reservation. She made absolutely no attempt to get me a room, to give me a new room, to make a new reservation. Just flat out refused to do her job as a customer service representative. I come to columbus multiple times a month and was thinking on switching to IHG, but guess not, what an absolute joke. It was great to not have a room after working 14 hours.

My partner and I were in downtown Columbus for a comedy event at Palace Theatre. The location from the hotel was the reason for our book (3 min drive) (10 min walk) we made it safely there and back to hotel. The bar wasn’t opened and there was no hot breakfast. The room was cleaned… after I cleaned it. I was a executive room inspector at the most prestigious hotel, so I’m kinda hard to pleased with housekeeping. The toilet was still dirty around the bowl and floor, the tub was dirty. There were hair oil stains on the pillowcases and sheets. Parking is $12/day (hence why we walked all of downtown)

Nice clean room. Quiet but can hear some hall traffic. Daytime front desk seemed kind of annoyed to deal with guests (2 stars). Night time desk was fantastic (5 stars). Hot breakfast was available to purchase but would close due to lack of staff at a whim (2 stars). Waiters were great though (4 stars). In downtown area, close to all event locations.

Was charged way more for my 2 day stay when there for a festival. The room was disgusting, there was red stains on the sheets which definitely looked like blood, the elevators were broken and there was no towels or toilet paper in the bathroom when arriving. Not to mention the staff was rude and unhelpful, I highly suggest you stay somewhere else. I ended up leaving and staying at a different hotel.

Rooms are ok. Somewhat dirty and some paint peeling, which in my opinion shouldn't be happening when you're paying 250 a night. I don't know that I would say there again. But the room was quiet, the curtains made it nice and dark, and we really didn't hear anything all night. The pool was too cold to enjoy. If they are going to have a pool they should heat it enough that you can actually use it and enjoy it.

I really enjoyed the pool. I was very dissatisfied at first with the room gave me because of the smell coming from the hallway carpet. I called guest services and they moved me expeditiously . Great people work there just could use some more maintenance on the building.

Friendly staff and room was clean which is most important. Unfortunately had to turn heat on high before heat kicked in. Not sure why there's an extra $21 charge for view on higer floor. All views are the same on each floor. Don't waste the money. Front lobby reeked of cigarette smoke which made clothes and hair smell of smoke when going out or back to room. Restaurant was understaffed but everyone was patient. I only ordered cranberry juice and took it back to the room. Hotel is in walking distance to restaurants and close in proximity to North Market and other attractions.

Room number one had a bug on the bed and and a shower that didn't work properly due to the stopper handle was broken the sink with splash water all over you if you turned it up too high because about was cracked or something. The second one wasn't as bad stay there for a night I always paid was a little late due to being very tired and struggling trying to find a place to live due to my thing is being set on fire while storing them in someone's house for an insurance claim I later found out so was trying to make calls and figure out our next move only to be exported out by maintenance / security. I was also told that there was a breakfast in the morning later to find out it was when you had to pay for that was very nice in good 4 to5 Stars there there. Front desk receptionist was nice and respectful. Not so much considerate and a bit on the judgmental side especially when it came to our appearance. To be fair to both parties to be fair to say that just was caught on a bad week

The sheets were very dirty first off. My room smelled of cigarettes. My room was poorly cleaned I stayed about a couple weeks ago I stayed 3 nights which cost me 500$ which is terrible. I was tired and the only thing they had was small snacks I got 3 things that cost 6$???!!! I was yelled at by 2 housekeeping employees. Just a waste of money and bad management I told them I found 2 bed bugs and I would like a refund so I could stay somewhere else all I got was a “free breakfast” slip I asked for housekeeping twice before I finally got some one ( my last day as I were leaving) DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE

Location wasn't bad, but everything else about this hotel was. The room wasn't clean and didn't have a TV remote. There was only 1/2 roll of toilet paper – no extra / back-up and the toilet handle was broken. The thermostat in the room is apparently just for decoration; after a couple of hours of stuffy air, I figured out that the room wasn't cooling off because the A/C unit under the window was off and had to be controlled manually from the unit. The whole place is badly in need of an upgrade. There are many other hotel options in downtown Columbus, and I would guess all of them are better than this Holiday Inn.

Finding good help these days is getting harder (I get that), but I was not impressed with anyone at this hotel. First of all, we were there for 4 nights (5 days) and had zero room service. I know that due to COVID they don’t do it as often, but they said we could request it. We did and they still didn’t come. There is a mask mandate in the City of Columbus and almost every employee wore their mask under their chin. That means customers don’t think they have to wear theirs either, so it becomes a thing where most of the building doesn’t have a mask on during a global pandemic and a masked mandate. We tried to eat breakfast there one day and not only was the server rude, the food was wrong. Overall, I was not impressed and that’s sad because we visit Columbus often (to visit family) and we were really hoping this would work out. It is in a great location and besides the lack of room service it was clean.

It's a nice place overall, Burger Theory is a great idea, however the breakfast options are disappointing. To be more specific, $15 for breakfast I think is too much for what is offered The location is alright, nothing special but no complaints. The rooms are very nice. Comfortable beds, great shower, I've stayed at this location a few times and I've never had any issues

We had 2 amazing women working up front, Orenda and Angelina, that helped us after a long day. They were so kind and went above and beyond what they needed to just so we could have a good night and be settled. They were so kind, it made our night.

Overall the experience was good. My son was coming home for holiday leave from the Army and I wanted to get a hotel close to the Greyhound bus station because his bus was coming in at 330 in the morning. The only complaint is that the person at the front desk knew that we were coming back and we had to wait for him to let us back in. I am a very patient person. We ended up going to the back of the hotel and using our key card to get in. He did apologize, which I appreciate. The room was very nice, however, the beds could be softer. I would definitely stay there again because overall the stay was really good.

Decently priced for the location we needed it for. Stayed here during Lost Lands festival and it was only a 3min walk to the shuttles. There were also restaurants within walking distance from us that were amazing as well as a DGX market a few minutes away. Rooms were clean as well. Oh! And they have a snack area downstairs along with a restaurant attached too.

We often stayed at this location when my daughter needed to be at the local children's hospital. During the last stay we lost my daughter and when my other daughters boyfriend went to pack up everything for us he left behind a binder that contained money. I know, shouldn't have left it in the room, but we were all in a panic and grieving. The hotel did mail the binder to us, but all of the money had been stolen. We did contact the hospital to make them aware that families needing accommodations should not be placed at this hotel.

This was the worst IHG experience I have ever had. We have stayed at this location several times in the past and it was always pleasant (but it’s been a few years). 1st off we check in late - around 11p - the room is musty and the bed was wobbly. Around 2am the bed frame collapsed. The next morning we tell the desk and they said they will get it fixed. After a long day we return and are told the bed was fixed. We get to the room and all of the bedding was on the floor and couch. We inform the desk as we were leaving for dinner and they said they would care for it while we were out. We return from dinner and as we walk in the lobby the desk clerk makes it a point to tell us the bed was made only to find that nothing had been touched. Went back to the desk and was pretty much called liars because the lead housekeeper told them they did it was done. We insisted that someone come to the room to inspect it. The front desk clerk took pictures and attempted to apologize after seeing the mess. When we asked about them making it right we were told they couldn’t do anything because they don’t have a manager on weekends but promised points and possible refund for the night. We switched rooms and were fine….so we thought. Next day we get back from another long day to get ready for dinner only to find out there is no ironing board. We had to iron on the bed plus the iron was leaking water all over our clothes. Still waiting to see if they will follow through with the promises that were made. Oh… and the room cost $700 for 3 nights. I am Platinum Elite member so I stay at IHG properties a lot. This was just a brutal experience.

Had to wait a while to get serviced at the front desk, no one was there for a good 5-10 minutes. At one point, a family member I was traveling with had to go back out to the car after we checked in. While he was outside, they locked the automatic doors and left the counter unattended again so he was unable to get back inside for another 5-10 minutes. Other than that, the rooms were fine and the breakfast, although not free, was good enough.

Found someone's shirt stuffed behind my pillow. The clean out for the bathtub was open with cap laying in a pile of rusty grime and dirt. I ignored those issues but when I got back from dinner I noticed the remote was missing. Went down to the front desk for a replacement and was told that the night staff did not have access to the room with the remotes. She had to change my room just so I could watch TV in bed. Found someone's makeup laying next to the night stand. Hate to complain and I don't expect rooms to be spotless but removing personal items and providing a remote is pretty basic. Had to pay for breakfast at the restaurant and no bacon btw. Overall pretty disappointed with IHG for this experience. Usually Holiday Inn does better than that.

As others have mentioned, there is a broken elevator, leaving 1 elevator for 12 floors of guests. This was a huge pain on a weekend where they were busy with convention guests. The room was also not clean enough. There was leftover soap marks in both soap trays in the shower and even a used bar of soap under the sink. The AC in the room worked great (although it stunk like mildew), but the halls were sweltering, and the ice machine didn't work for our whole stay. We also thought the breakfast buffet was included since it's included at every other Holiday Inn we've ever stayed at, but then we got the bill for over $30. Definitely skip this place.

Good location and nice interior-those are the only things saving this place. Their wifi is a single public network... With no alternatives. That caused my company's internet security system to freak out and I almost wasn't able to work. Their workout room is the worst I've seen of any hotel ever, and that's really saying something. Hotel rooms don't have a lot of spare outlets for charging devices. Burger Theory also isn't open for lunch.

This hotel was absolutely disgusting. The floors going up to my room were so disgusting I should have known the actual room wouldn't be much different. Upon checking the bed I noticed the sheets were dirty and full of crumbs. The bathroom had a slow drain in the sink and the tub had water coming up that was not ours. The bed mattress was thin like a floor mat. The closet was so small there was not any room to hang anything. This place reminded me of why I work so hard to stay at nicer establishments. I don't think I'll ever stay at another holiday Inn. Very disappointing

It was the most affordable hotel closest to vine Street without taking the highway. It is a nice and quiet hotel and I wanted to give it a 5 star but the TV in the room on the 8th floor is probably at 32 inch TV if not less! For a room, almost perfect. That TV size ruined it. No USB port charger anywhere in the room( this might be asking for too much. Lol) Breakfast wasn't the typical buffet mass produced. They had a menu and it was one drink per Breakfast which I found disappointing. Also for someone trying to beat the bad weather, waiting to be served was slightly nerve-wracking but it was worth the wait. Even for the hurry to go order. It was a sandwich very very well done! Staff was cool.

I had a very bad experience with the Columbus, OH, Holiday Inn Downtown, 175 E. Town St. I will never stay or suggest to anyone I know to lodge at this location. This is my story. Before checking in, I asked the front desk attendant if the hotel still had stairs to access their second floor. I explained then that my wife is severely claustrophobic and could not take the elevator to any floor. The attendant said I could use the outside stairwell to get upstairs. However, no such door or stairwell existed for guests. Previously my wife and I could use a stairwell from the laundry room when we stayed at this same location. When we could not find access to our room, I asked for a refund. Guest Care Manager, Emma Lennemann, the person responsible for customer relationships would not refund the transaction made only moments before. I contacted the Customer Relationship corporate office for Holiday Inn, with my issues and I’m still waiting for their response. I have been an IHG Gold Elite rewards member for several years, and typically in the past, we have been very satisfied with our stay at the Holiday Inn. I hope this is an isolated incident, and at some point, I will receive my $175.00 refund for a room my wife and I did not stay in. But until then the Holiday Inn Downtown, 175 E. Town St. Columbus, OH, I would suggest the location revisit the importance of customer relationships and the negative effects of social media and one disgruntled customer.
