My stay was excellent. The breakfast set-up is the best of any restaurant I have seen. I felt comfortable and safe with their pandemic protocols. The room was clean, quiet and spacious. I had a good night's rest. Only complaint was the comforter on the bed in the middle of the summer. A light blanket would have made more sense. The staff was attentive and courteous. I even enjoyed the pool.

Our room was allowed an early check-in before the OSU game the morning we arrived. This was a HUGE help. The room was very clean and comfortable for us. I requested a quiet room and was placed at the end of the hallway, exactly what I wanted. Clifford checked us in and was there most of the weekend. He is an absolute wonderful staple of your hotel. He is so welcoming, kind and generous. He exhibits all attributes related to F.A.C.T. Friendly, authentic, caring, thoughtful. I have managed a Hampton Inn property in the past and I would have been thrilled to have an employee like him. I have stayed at this property many times and will continue to return due to the top notch service and room quality.

Had a fantastic night at this Hampton Inn. We were visiting for a convention held across the street at the Covention Center, and wanted someplace close and easy to get. Check in was a cinch, everyone was very friendly and extremely helpful despite being at their busiest, and our room (a suite overlooking the city) was perfect. Even the pull out bed was comfortable (I slept on it and let my two friends have the regular beds). Breakfast was free and had plenty of choices. The only negative was the parking situation, which is valet only and kinda pricey, but we prepared for that as it's clearly listed. Plus, lots of great places to eat within walking distance.. Overall, a fantastic experience and we'll definitely return next year. Thank you!

Very disappointed with our experience. We were in town for a concert but was late due to the hotel not having a room available that we reserved months prior. Front desk actually said ā€œit is what it isā€. Given what they charge for parking and rooms we expected a better quality experience. It didnā€™t ruin our trip but definitely made things difficult.

My family and I stayed at this hotel for our daughter's dance competition. A 2 night stay in a king suite with spa shower. When we arrived the website didn't tell us our truck wouldn't fit in the garage they have, however the staff was Very helpful to find a solution. I don't recommend taking your duly.. When we got to the room, boy we had so much space! The spa shower was one of our favorite features of the room. The one thing we were not pleased about was the pool. We felt the water level was not as it said and the chemical level was off. But we believe they were off because the lining was metal. Breakfast was very good! The day of departure, they let us keep our truck with them until my daughter was done with the dance competition. All around wehighly recommend this hotel!

This is a fantastic choice for a stay in downtown Columbus. My wife and I had our very first visit to Columbus and could not have been happier with our choice of accommodations. Located within walking distance of The COSI and Ohio National Veterans Memorial Museum, amazing dining experiences, you can't go wrong choosing this location during your stay. What REALLY set the standard for our stay was the staff. From the valet parking team to every one else, great job!! There is definitely one person who deserves a mention. Mr Clifford, who initially greeted us upon arrival. This man has such an inviting and wonderful personality and was absolutely exceptional and the epitome of hospitality. Fantastic job to him, he really sets the tone of what to expect when staying here!!

Welcome to 2023! They made my entire stay amazing! Pull up outside, check-in through the app, get a digital key, and to wrap it up with a great valet staff! Pull up, grab my bags, and head to my room! And my photos donā€™t do it justice, the room is all I can ask for. Super clean, fresh everything, and very spacious. šŸØ šŸ˜Š very impressive!!! ā˜ŗļø

We come here for FB games once or twice a year. Clifford is one of the most cordial employees that I have ever met. It is our go to place, even though the walk to campus is pretty long. I previously gave this a 5. However the sheets and towels have gone way down in quality-and that is pretty important when Iā€™m traveling. The beds are still good quality though.

Do yourselves a favor and avoid this hotel at all costs! Worst hotel experience I've ever had, without question. Our room was a total disaster & the hotel wouldnt give us another room. Our faucet was broken, there was a part of the faucet laying in the sink and only cold water came out, there was standing water in the tub which wouldn't drain, the refrigerator was dirty inside, there were hairs and stains covering the bedding on BOTH beds, a very large and disturbing stain on the bed skirt of one of the beds. I realize no hotel room is going to be perfect and 100% spotless BUT having multiple issues is kind of ridiculous, especially when I'm paying nearly $200 per night. I told the front desk of these issues immediately when we discovered them and all they said was, "I'm sorry we'll let maintenance know." I again told the front desk that my room had multiple issues upon checkout and all I received was "I apologize." They didn't offer to validate my parking or anything at all. What kind of customer service is that?? I emailed the general manager of the Hampton Inn and sent photos of the room conditions multiple times and received NO RESPONSE. Terrible customer service, complete disappointment & waste of money, most stressful hotel experience ever!

One of the employee at the front desk was amazing! He interacted with everyone and was just adorable! I wish I caught his name because he deserves direct kudos! There was also an older female that was super sweet. Everyone else was the opposite, borderline rude. Location makes this hotel worth every penny

Pros: Check-in was quick and easy, the location was what I needed. It was within walking distance to a lot of restaurant options and the convention center, where I had a work conference. Good continental breakfast. Cons: The beds are uncomfortable and the pillows were very flat and lumpy. I don't know what kind of mattresses they use, but the feeling of the mattress was that of a firm spring-based mattress. There was dried old blood smeared on the bathroom door and some dried drops of blood on the wall by the bathroom door. There was something spilt in the closet, where I hung my clothes, that wasn't cleaned up. Made me wonder about the overall cleanliness of the the room and how well they actually cleaned it. Because it is downtown, it was quite loud at night. There was street racing/speeding, shouting, and at one point it sounded like fireworks were being lit. It wasn't a holiday or near a holiday. Because the purpose of a hotel room, to me, is to get a good night's sleep and have a clean place to take a shower, those things really dampened the experience for me. I wouldn't stay there again because of the beds and the questionable cleanliness.

Posting a review to primarily recognize the front desk team who are above and beyond warm and helpful. These team members should be recognized! As an overnight stay for a family trip to visit COSI and the zoo, the hotel was great. Close walking distance to many restaurants/shops and overall what you expect from the Hampton Inn brand. No issues at all with our room. Breakfast was fresh and well stocked. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend for the service, location, and value.

Not good. Upon arrival after a long day traveling, complimentary coffee in lobby was cold. I called front desk and asked for them to make a fresh pot, but they never did. The toilet seat would not stay up. Nobody came to clean the room. Now here is where it gets really bad. In the middle of the night we lost power. Woke up sweating. The hotel has no generator! Had to leave exit through the stairwell. On the way down someone scared me into a mini heart attack. When we returned later that morning the electricity had been restored. All I wanted now was a hot shower and some rest. Apparently that was too much to ask as there was no hot water! They gave us a late check out and promised it would be hot again soon. Four hours later, still ice cold! Left for the airport like hot garbage. Now we get to go to the airport and travel all day smelly and tired. Do not stay here.

We came to Columbus for a concert and I'm so glad we chose the Hampton Inn to stay. First of all, the morning of our stay, the hotel texted with directions and asked if we had questions. We were excited to have the valet parking and the attendants were very helpful getting us in to the lobby and showing us how close we were to the venue we needed to go to. We were greeted by the wonderful Clifford who helped us check in and he hooked us up with a room on the 2nd floor where all good stuff is, Pool, exercise room and breakfast area. The rooms were clean and everything you would need (toiletries) are there. The breakfast spread was large and lots of good stuff. It was amazing how convenient the location is. Walking distance to so many great places! We will for sure stay here if we come back to Columbus. Thank you so much for the great experience!

Good location for walking High street and bars/restaurants, but no self parking, valet only, so pack lite (you carry bags from car on street). Pet friendly hotel, but no pet relief area...had to walk a few blocks to Goodale park, or find a small patch of grass elsewhere. Rooms were good size, bed was nice, although other furniture not comfortable.

Awesome location, AMAZING Staff, and great hotel! Extremely satisfied with picking this hotel for our annual March Madness trip! Can not say it enough, the staff are extremely friend and helpful. Carrie is super friendly, extremely proactive, and worked extremely hard to make this visit as smooth as possible! Like most hotels still recovering from some hard years, there are some wear and tear but honestly, nothing worth highlighting.

No sympathy for cancellations within an hour of being made for flight cancellations. Stay was for work but would not stay for personal travel after experience. The concerning part of the whole thing was not being sent a receipt despite being charged full price for the stay. The charge or transaction was not even posted to my Hilton account (trying both the app and online record of past stays and charges - it was made to look like they hadnā€™t charged me). Only found out about their charging me by matching up the charge amounts on my credit card, which wasnā€™t even posted on the same day as the stay. Roger on their stated cancellation policy, but they offer no exemption or sympathy of any kind even for long standing Hilton Diamond members. Worse part was the feel that they hid the fact they charged me.

I just wanted to message to say Yulanda at the Hampton Inn in Columbus 501 n high street is the best. She is the nicest person and helped out our extended reservation without a problem. She is AMAZING. Made sure everything got taken care of before i could walk away from the desk when i got a call from work at almost 1am that meetings were delayed and were able to stay in our same room. 10/10 will be staying here again

The North Market is a block away, many restaurants and bars close by...this is a perfect spot for meeting in small groups for dinner or coffee or a drink together! The hotel also offers several quiet places for guests to sit and chat with friends or family. A great find!

Great space and friendly staff(except for the overnight lady of foreign descent). Breakfast is ample and satisfying. A huge plus is the North Market, a great place with many diverse options. The place with the Pad Thai was excellent and extremely reasonable. For dessert, too many options to pick just one. I suggest sharing multiple options and then a leisurely stroll through nearby Goodale Park.

Excellent staff. I shipped in 7 boxes, 1 got misplaced, the staff turned the hotel upside down until they found my box. I was allowed to use a cart to move boxes across the street to the convention center. The breakfast is good and the rooms are clean. I would recommend.

In the middle of the night, my sister alerted me to several generations of bedbugs. Third shift staff was as accommodating as they could be with their limited authority, but as we were packing up to move rooms we discovered that personal items were also missing. We were only out of our room for about 3 hours for a concert. This indicates that someone was in our room for some reason almost immediately after check in - for what? The front office manager (Mitanshi) described the insect as a tick, suggested we are dishonest, and hung up on us. We both work in social services and can absolutely confirm that room 344 has an infestation in both beds. And honestly, thatā€™s excusable. It happens. But the blatant disrespect and theft? No. We are frequent guests of Hilton hotels and have never been met with such disappointing accommodations. Really enjoyed the humbling feeling of carrying my clothes out in my arms because my carry-on bag was stolen. Following that up with a hasty trip home to blast our items with heat and chemicals to prevent infestation was the cherry on top. Loved that for us.

This hotel is clean and modern with every expected amenity. The location is in the heart of the city, across the street from the convention center and surrounded by quality restaurants with a variety of price points. The hotelā€™s staff is friendly, professional, and efficient. Just passing through the lobby can brighten your day.

We stayed in a suite. The room was great! We swam and was pleased that the pool was heated. The only downfall is that the woman who started to check us in had a straight up stank look on her face. She just seemed like she didnā€™t want to be here or interacting with any of us. She was not friendly at all. I wish I wouldā€™ve got her name! A gentleman took over though and he was fabulous!

Hotel is in a good location, but there is no parking forcing you to use their valet. We arrived and saw a white female wearing a professional parking services shirt running the valet, climb into peoples cars to park as she slammed doors to vehicles, sped off and slammed on the breaks out of frustration with her job. She also bumped into people and glared rudely at them. Ironically quite the opposite of ā€œprofessional parking servicesā€ā€¦ We requested someone else to park our vehicle. Hotel staff were okay the room was clean.

Location is convenient but very noisy. Service ranged from helpful to indifferent. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was decent, but they ran out of juice early in our stay and there was none for 3 more days at least. Coffee and tea were available in the afternoon.

Carrie & Clifford as well as Terrik represented the Hampton Inn with professionalism, personality, care, kindness and attentiveness to us while we were there for our nephews wedding. I would stay there again especially if they were there as I know they would not only take care of us but also our 98 yr old WWII Veteran father. Thank you both!

Excellent stay overall. Great location for events at the Columbus Convention Center. Had issues with maintaining wifi connection (not a major focus of my trip).

Great spot to stop in for the night. We visited with our 2 kids, 8 and 2, and they enjoyed the pool and the room view (although not much from the 4th floor, but it entertained them). The room was clean, bathroom was nice, and the shower head had some pressure! Even better, they had a room on a Friday night at 6pm when I called to book from 10 minutes away. It did seem fairly busy but the front desk informed me there was a concert, convention, and something else going on nearby. The parking situation was in and out Valet service for $35/night. I guess that's to be expected in a downtown area like this. There were plenty of food and drink choices nearby. The night life seemed to be everywhere, if only we hadn't 2 small children, we could have been out all night livin it up. But alas, we found a local brewery to eat at with a kids menu, and then were able to walk the main drag down and back to get ice cream a few blocks away at Kilwins. Breakfast in the morning was free and it was decent, with premade omelette choices and waffle makers among the fruit, yogurt, muffins, and cereal. It satisfied our crew. And the dark roast coffee was delish. The pool was clean and clear and kept the kids busy for an hour or so in the morning. We had a 12 o'clock check out so that was nice not having to beat the clock to get out. Overall it was a great stay and we would stop in again if needed! Though my 8 year old really wanted to stay at the Hilton up the block because it had more floors šŸ˜†

Super convenient to the Convention Center. Rooms are clean and The staff is nice. However, be warned that breakfast will be hit or miss. (I.E they served French Toast Sticks and Fresh made waffles, but were totally out of syrup. They had oatmeal and cereal, but no bowls.). That being said, I will stay here again.

  • 5/5 John N. 1 year ago on Google
The rooms have everything you need. The breakfast is really good. Free hot breakfast with a lot of great options. Took a star off rooms because I could never get the wifi to work but that's not the fault of the workers. The location absolutely cannot be beat if you're going to the convention center. Lots of food options around. Comfortable beds, great pillows. Will probably stay here again.

So most will talk about the hotel or some other thing that was greatā€¦me I want to talk about Clifford! If you have stayed here and if you have had the pleasure of meeting him you will understand. I chose this hotel not for any other reason then him. Most of the hotels downtown are nice but they DO NOT HAVE CLIFFORD! I hope that this establishment realizes and values his importance! We DO!

Stayed in room 730 Saturday night, one of the "Presidential" suites, with my wife for our anniversary this past weekend. Checked in at 4:30, and our room was 50 degrees. Had to shower and dress for dinner in a cold room...very uncomfortable. No in room snacks, beverages, etc. All the room came with was the little coffee maker and four paper drinking cups. For what they charge for the room, some actual glasses would have been nice. Went down to breakfast at 9:15 Sunday morning. No staff at all were visible in the breakfast area. The eggs were all gone, and there was no one to replenish the food. There are nicer hotels downtown who provide much better service. We will definitely NOT be staying here again...very disappointing.

I had booked 3 rooms for myself and 2 other cheer moms and daughters. When we walked into the hotel, we were greeted by Clifford. He gave us and everyone that walked through the doors such a sweet, joyful welcome! We just loved going through the lobby so we could talk to Clifford. Sheila helped us check in, gave us information about breakfast, housekeeping, valet parking, a map of local restaurants, etc. The breakfast selection was better than any hotel we've been to in recent seasons for cheer. The had hot food including waffles, potatoes, sausage and omelettes and there was plenty of seating so we never had issues getting a table. The 3 of us moms weren't sure if we needed to stay Sunday night or not so we ended up cancelling Sunday night, rebooking it and cancelling again once we realized we would be finished at the Convention Center early Sunday. Sheila happily helped us change our reservations each time. We ate lunch and dinner at the North Market every day because there were so many delicious options to choose from, we never got bored. I do hope we return to Columbus during the next season because I can't wait to stay at this hotel again. Between the staff, proximity to the Convention Center and amazing food choices all around the hotel, we had a great weekend in Columbus.

The room I was given was on the side of the hotel by a club so there was music thumping until around two in the morning- when they asked how my stay was I told them that and they said ā€œsorryā€ and didnā€™t offer a change . The bathroom had splatters on the wall and honestly wasnā€™t in the best condition. When I booked my stay it said prices were 129 dollars per night- after all hidden charges my bill was 418 dollars for two nights!!! I guess thatā€™s just a crazy idea to be upfront with pricing. If you stay here it will be 200 plus a night for a noisy kinda run down hotel- at one time it was probably nice but itā€™s in need of an update- especially for the price.

The hotel itself is five stars but the valet parking is horrendous. No free parking when you start here so you either have to keep feeding the meter or pay $33 a day for valet parking. Each time I texted to have them pull my car up they said there was an issue and to see the attendant so I had to go stand in the cold and wait for someone to help me. We came back one night and the office was dark and nobody was there, even though they were supposed to be, so I just parked it myself and then magically an attendant appeared. Awful experience all around. The hotel is what you expect from a Hampton Inn. Comfy bed, clean, good water pressure, small fridge and a coffee maker.

  • 1/5 Tia B. 2 years ago on Google
The hotel was absolutely perfect. Clean, friendly staff, breakfast was very good, hot and plentiful. The room was bright, comfortable and clean. But we will not stay here again because of the valet parking. Our vehicle was taken off site without our knowledge, parked away from the hotel and left unlocked. Our car was ransacked, items were stolen, pop was spilled in it, it was a mess when we got it back. When talking to the valet after picking up the car it was not a good experience to even get an incident report filled out.

  • 3/5 Danielle R. 1 year ago on Google
Not too bad. The room was spacious and the bed was reasonably comfortable. The cleanliness can certainly be improved. We found trash on one of the window sills and there was an old filter still in the coffee maker. The carpet was dirty and there weren't any regular coffee packets. The front desk remedied the coffee however and the way they have breakfast set up is convenient. Not bad for a hampton inn in a downtown city though. There's a Ruth's Chris just around the corner in the same building too.

We picked this hotel because of the location. And we were super surprised at how great the hotel was. The staff was absolutely wonderful. Everyone we spoke to on staff was super nice. Our room was great. And the bed was amazing. I don't have one thing bad to say about this hotel. We will definitely be coming back.

Impressive! It started with a very friendly and efficient valet attendant, and an efficient and friendly front desk clerk, and continued with every staff person we encountered. The public spaces and rooms were very clean. Breakfast offered a wide variety of foods and there was always hot coffee and water available in the lobby. The proximity to the convention center and restaurants canā€™t be beat. We opted to stay at Hampton Inn instead of the hotel connected to the convention center because it is a more convenient location and shorter walk to everything!

  • 5/5 Heather M. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel was very clean. The shower had great water pressure and the bathroom was large. The air conditioning worked well. The breakfast was delicious, plenty of seating. Valet was very friendly and quick. Would recommend and stay here again.

There was one man that was super pleasant at the front desk, however, the guy that checked me in was not very friendly. Then we had no option to park our own vehicles so we were charged $99 for valet because we had 3 cars. When we checked out, valet gave us our keys and told us where we could go to get our car until I refused. I will not pay for a service that I do not receive. Our bill was over $400 to stay and park at the hotel for one night which I think is outrageous. Will not be staying again.

I am writing today with regards to my recent stay at Hampton Inn & Suites Columbus-Downtown located at 501 North High St included excellent service, for which I thank you, but I do have one major complaint: the hotel was infested with bed bugs. This sanitation issue was not obvious to me when I checked in, as these bugs are not easily visible to the naked eye. However, when my daughter woke up in the morning covered in bites, I realized that the room was overflowing with these tiny bugs. We immediately showed the the staff on duty where she had bites on her arms and legs, and the staff took pictures of the bites and bed bugs that was in the room, And then they move our room. As a gold member and being that I stay at this hotel at lease 4to5 times a year you would think that a refund would be easy. NO, they gave me 50,000 points that I did not ask for and would not refund my money this is a problem. I hope moving forward that they can fix this type of customer service issue. Jason Davis

Looks are deceiving! At first glance everything looks nice but this place pretty much sucks. Thereā€™s no space in the room to lay down a suitcase. Multiple lights are out. The shower and shower head are covered in mold and mildew. Several lights and lamps are burned out or without bulbs. The drapes arenā€™t even long enough to fully cover the windows. Parking is valet only and $33, which isnā€™t clear on the website. Worst of all, thereā€™s major construction directly outside my room window that starts at 7am. The only decent thing about this hotel is the location, and they sure do charge a premium for it.

We stayed here for the first time this past weekend for the Ohio State Game. I am a member of a lot of travel companies (Bonvoy-Hilton, etc.) and to be honest I have not stayed with Hampton in awhile despite being an Honors member. I reserved a king suite and wanted to say this was a great decision , however I should had known from communication on the phone with their front counter, that it was going to be a challenge. The rep on the phone and who also spoke with us via chat on the honors site and by text was Carrie. She was very short and curt and at one point hung up the phone when I attempted to book a second room for my son who was active duty and leaving for Iraq in a couple months. Rather than calling back and being treated as though I was clueless.. I went to the Hilton Honors site and booked the second room that way. Checking in and checking out was the best part only because of a gentleman named Clifford.. he is the best. While checking out, my wife got a cup of coffee for the road and she mentioned to Carrie that the coffee was coldā€¦ Carrie didnā€™t even acknowledge her with as much as a head nod. My wife went up to the second floor to find warm coffee and Carrie not realizing we were together, said to Clifford that she had to get the coffee changed because apparently it was not good enough for that lady. Bottom lineā€¦ very disrespectful on the phone and honestly in person. The rooms, for the money spentā€¦ should be very clean. , there not. The vent in the bathroom is half unscrewed , covered in cob webs , dirt, maybe even mold, something black either way. The toilet seat was ready to slide off when u sat on it, stains on the floor, water spots all over the ceiling.. Iā€™m sorry just not very well cleaned. I havenā€™t even touched on the 35 dollars to park, but at this point, itā€™s senseless to bring it up. I know Hilton is a great brand, but to say Iā€™m disappointed would be an understatement. I have a-lot of travel coming up for business, and this may have swayed me enough to move on.
