Wonderful little hostel is you're visiting the city. We needed just a bed for a Sunday night concert but it turned into so much more meeting people and experiencing the city. People staying at the hostel are friendly and looking to make friends, so make sure you chat with people! We had a private room for our use which was clean, roomy, and super affordable. We weren't there long enough to use the public spaces much but the 2 kitchens, game room, living rooms, and public bathrooms were all well maintained and a pleasure to use. Next time I'm in Columbus, I won't hesitate to stay here again.

I booked a Single Room for 3 nights. Room, Bed, Bathroom was clean and cozy. Check in and check out were not complicated at all and I had good conversations with the owner....the kitchen gadgets and fridge could have been a little bit cleaner but it did not bother me all to much...I definately recommend that place and will come back again...

There were 4 of us there for an event at the Ohio Fairgrounds, the hostel is less than 2 miles from there and very convenient. Robbie, the owner was super nice and easy to work with. The hostel has 2 sitting areas, one includes 2 tables, they both have Tv’s, one has a stereo with a large collection of CD’s to listen to. There are 2 kitchens, with large stoves, refrigerators, microwaves, toasters along with a lot of other small appliances. There are bikes to borrow, a game room with games to play. A laundry room. As far as I know all the beds are singles or bunks but I am not sure about that. There are 3 bathrooms, one has a tub/shower combo, the other 2 have showers only. There is only 4 parking spaces on the property that are on a first come basis, the rest is all street parking which sometimes can be several blocks away. Bedding and pillows are provided along with towels; bring your own washcloth if you use one. There is a grill and all accessories and a hot tub in the back of the house. We had a great experience here. It was my first time using a hostel. AND it was only $35 per person a night.

This place is great, a lot better than what I was expecting. The host is very good at helping you with anything that pops up. The house is kept clean and the rules are easy to follow. Great place close to shops in a quiet neighborhood.

Absolutely love this place! I’ve got to meet so many people from diverse backgrounds, the environment feels like home. The ceilings are pretty low in some areas. While going to my dorm in the attic, I hit my head so hard my back is still in pain hours later! I suggested to the manager that they put something in to soften the blow. I was told they used to have pads years ago, but they would limit space and possibly be against code. I responded with, it would reduce suffering, so why not give it a try? I was then told that it would only be a little less bad. I wouldn’t mind being in a little less pain right now. I felt like my questions were causing some resentment and defensiveness, so I decided to stop challenging his reasoning and post my concerns here. I’ll be honest, with all due respect, I didn’t quite like having my concerns being dismissed. It’s less about the pain and more about the way my concern was handled (and the fact he never asked if I was ok), but this doesn’t excuse the fact that there are multiple holes in the ceiling from people having hit their heads, I believe anything to reduce suffering is worth it in this context. I really appreciate the manager, he’s very polite and hard working. At times he’s helped me when I was very much in need. I very much respect him, I just felt like on this one odd day, that I couldn’t get through to him. I hope this came across in a reverent manner. Thank you

Highly recommend! I visited Columbus to see The Dollyrots at the Rumba Cafe. Last year I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on Hudson, which was fine, but cost about $200. The Wayfaring Buckeye Hostel only cost about $90 (I got the King room) and I had essentially the same experience. So basically a good experience for less than half the cost of a hotel! Nobody bothered me going in or out, I was able to get a good parking spot and it was only about a 3-minute walk to the Rumba Cafe. The room was clean and had a TV and min-fridge. There were two clean bathrooms on the second floor as well. I will definitely stay here again next year!

Regardless if this is your first or tenth time staying at a hostel you will be impressed with what it has to offer. I liked the fact that there was a light breakfast in the morning, bikes to use, and a hot tub, and more.

Only about 2 blocks away from Rumba Cafe, so many food places in walking distance (pizza, UDF, gyros, falafel, you name it), and wasn't hard to find. Super chill atmosphere.

We had dinner here with a friend who had rented it. It was very clean and very nice. The reasons I gave 4 instead of 5 are: extremely narrow driveway leading to the parking & not much room to back out. I had to do Like a 30 point turn to back out in a large 6 to 8 passenger vehicle. It was super tight to get out through the alley too. I think the owner should install long tall reflectors where the driveway has the greatest incline/decline. Keep this in mind if youre in a large vehicle. I couldn't imagine anything bigger than a mini van fitting back there comfortably. Thank goodness for rear cameras! The other reason for 4 instead of 5 was a hole in the floor which likely used to be an outlet by the TV. It was not covered and you could see straight to the basement. It perfectly fits a toddler's foot! Also, the gas stove is a nightmare for a toddler. I would not take a toddler here again. But, I was not the renter and overall, with watchful parents, this place was very nice and clean. I would recommend it to anyone. I mean, can you honestly take a toddler anywhere??

A neat old house setup nicely. It was 10° F outside but still warm and cozy inside. The shared living rooms allowed us to talk to other guests. The bed was comfortable and everything looked clean. Will definitely stay again if ever in town.

I was here for a concert which I turned into a mental health weekend. I felt 1000% safe and didn't have to worry about my stuff being messed with because each person gets a personal code to the front and back door AND one for the room. Robbie was fast to reply to my call about accommodations. I have a bum knee so I can't climb into the top bunk he was able to make it so I was on the bottom. Everyone was so nice! Will definitely be booking again.

I don't know what I imagined when I thought of a hostel, but this wasn't it. This place has all the amenities. It's a cozy place. It's a bit strange rooming with strangers, but for the price it's worth it.

Robbie and Sonia were very helpful and Robbie is quick to respond to any texts. Loved the almond milk for my morning matcha as I am vegan. Met some cool people and was able to get research and look for a place before my program starts. You can cook and no issues storing my food. I do wish there was an all-girl dorm but 90% of the guys were gentlemen in terms of sharing Anton with a woman so it worked out. Thank you 😊

I’d definitely recommend this hostel. It’s my first time ever in a hostel and I liked everything here. The price is valuable. The rooms and the entire hostel is clean that you’d feel at home. I slept in the 3 beds room and it was spacious. I brought two baggages with me and no one ever touch them so it’s really safe too. Robbie is nice too. The breakfast is for free. You can borrow a bicycle if you wish. I booked again cause I like the entire experience.

Best hostel I've ever stayed in. OSU campus is within walking distance, and it's an easy drive/bus ride downtown. They offer a lot of free amenities I wouldn't expect —breakfast (bagels, cereal, oatmeal, juice, coffee, tea), lockers & loaner bicycles (with a lock and helmet), a chill game room. I've never had to wait for a bathroom to open up. The basement bathroom has a bidet! The place is clean and comfortable. Robbie is very friendly and always available. If you're looking for a super comfortable bed, and an undisturbed sleep, this is NOT the place for you, but if you're cool with a few nights of living with a bunch of strangers, and saving money on your lodging, you can't do any better.

The Wayfaring Buckeye Hostel is a wonderful place to stay while in Columbus. The amenities are top-notch. They include free breakfast, free wi-fi, a hottub, full kitchen and refrigerator storage, and off-street parking just to name a few. I would highly recommend a stay here.

Stayed here last year for a week or so before my lease started. The place was clean and had all the amenities I needed. I also appreciated how they helped me when I made a mistake in my reservation. (Booked for the wrong month, and they gladly changed it for me free of charge.) There's also COTA bus running, very convenient to go to OSU campus or into town.

Incredibly kind, helpful, and accommodating staff. I was delayed through flight cancellations and the manager was more than helpful and willing to accommodate my changed schedule. Greatly appreciated and would recommend.

I stayed here for two nights about a week apart in the middle of a cross-country road trip between Illinois and Maryland. The first night, I stayed in one of the five person dorms. The five-person dorm was actually split up into two separate rooms on different floors (2 beds on one floor and 3 beds on the higher floor), and I was the only one assigned to the higher floor which was nice and quiet (although as someone said in another review the ceiling was lower, which was fine). The part of the dorm on the higher floor was not on the same level as the bathroom but again, it is fine if you are okay with it for the cheaper price. The second night I stayed in the full private room which felt more like a hotel than a hostel and seemed to be worth the extra money if you are looking for something a bit more private. Overall the check-in instructions were very clear, the hostel was close to campus, the kitchen and common areas were very clean, and street parking was available both nights (though it can be tougher to find if you arrive later in the day). All of the other guests seemed quiet and polite. I would stay here again if I was passing through Columbus.

There was a power outage that affected my stay and I unfortunately had to leave. The owner gave me a full refund. I would definitely book if I were in the area again.

This is hands down the BEST place to stay in Columbus. It is the cutest hostel ever and the hot tub is amazing. Robbie is so kind and helpful and it’s always a good time staying here. I live in Columbus myself and just stay here every few months for a little get away and I always meet awesome people. I’ve stayed in quite a few rooms and every one is always spotless and cozy. The common areas are super nice and the kitchen always has good food and there are even loaner bathing suits! And not to mention the price, it is well worth every penny. I tell all my friends in and out of town they have to stay here. I couldn’t recommend this hostel any more! Amazing

Had an awesome time staying at this Airbnb. The host was attentive and made our stay easy and convenient. The side of the duplex that we were on was set up very cool, with plenty of space for our group. Would definitely go back again!

Something of a mixed experience, though mostly quite good. Firstly, I was quite pleasantly surprised by all of the amenities they had. Maybe I didn't research close enough, but beyond free breakfast, there is a full gas range, as well as a hot tub, piano, free-to-use lockers, TV with streaming services, wifi and wired internet, refrigerators for guests, nice porch/smoking area, and a good bit more. Certainly it was more than I could have expected to use in a short visit; felt more like staying at a friend's house than a hostel. That said, despite the economy, it feels like a much better place for longer visits, at least 2 days. However, there were a few odd surprises, namely, the rooms. There are a lot of them with a good number of beds. Between that and having to pass through another bedroom to get to certain rooms, there's obviously no privacy, even more than you might expect. They assign you a bed, which is well enough, but be wary if you have any accessibility issues at all. My room was up two flights of narrow stairs, the second of which required me to hunch, crawl, or sit at the top, when coming up or down, because of the low ceiling. I'm not quite 6ft, but could only stand up at one spot in the room. Also, while I get that there's a pandemic on and all, it doesn't seem like the owners get around to cleaning up much. It's alright that it's left to guests to clean up after themselves-- I don't mind leaving a place as I found it-- but that collapses when someone else doesn't. Room below me had an early departure who left a bunch of stuff, books, bottle of wine, empty bottles, fake nails, and cigarette boxes all around. It was that way for as long as I was there. Still, it was really a fine time. Good accommodations for sure, and absolutely an unbeatable price for it, even without factoring in breakfast.

I love the Wayfairing Buckeye hostel. SO MANY amenities. On top of the complementary breakfast, they have laundry, fruit trees to steal an afternoon snack, a piano, hot tub, cozy couches, free loaner bikes. The list goes on! The kitchen is very well-appointed; the entire space is clean; no stone is left unturned here. And the staff are total hotties.

Great stay when I came to Columbus to go to a show at Express Live! Clean, comfortable, great price, and well positioned for whatever your pleasure while in Columbus!

The Hostel is located in a charming house, with a cozy and friendly vibe. The manager Robbie is always in a great mood and always helps guest, so we can have the best possible experience. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and the place has a decent kitchen to prepare meals, the hot tub is awesome and works 24/7... the living rooms has some of the most watched streamings (like Netflix and Disney +), they even have a piano! Security is great, all rooms has code locker on the doors. It is great to be close to restaurants, a grocery store (Aldi), banks (on N High St), in a lively neighborhood full of people jogging and walking around, because it's a university district. I highly recommend!
