I do not like doing bad reviews....but I feel like this one is necessary. We had a reservation for 6:45 PM. We were told it would be a 15 to 20 minute wait. We were seated in 15. Then it was 15 minutes before we even saw the waitress. Then it was a good half hour before the chef showed up to cook our meal. The food was great, but the show was not very good. He looked exhausted 😩. He was not prepared. He left several times to go back and get food and supplies. We both had the land & sea. The onion soup was really lousy. No onions, just broth with mushrooms in it. No green tea or desert was offered as stated in the menu. It was my wife's birthday, and she did not even get recognized. It really did ruin her night! I would not or could not recommend this establishment to anyone. We should have gone to McDonald's, and we hate McDonald's!!! It was really that bad! Save your money!!!! This place is a ripoff in my humble but accurate opinion.

We came here to celebrate our girls' birthday cause they love teppanyaki. It was our first time at Benihana. The wife asked for a draft beer and the server said they were out, ordered another kind and we had to remind the server long after she delivered the other drinks......the server then said that draft was out as well so she had to order a bottle. The chef was very quiet and was only interactive when he did the volcano. Service wasn't good as we had to wave down the server to get refills. The table behind us had a birthday party and got sang to. The couple who sat with us called the server over and told then it was our girls' birthdays, and we got a nice performance. This experience was not up to what we get at other teppanyakis. Soup was good, salad was horrible, steak was mediocre and the chicken didn't have much flavor.....

I was really excited to visit because it was my first time doing the hibachi grill ever. I was prepared for a good show and good food, especially because I was coming to celebrate my birthday. I made a reservation and noted that it was for a birthday. I brought my coupon to spend and the reservation was for a Friday. I later learned that they don't take the vouchers on Friday, which was my fault for not seeing the fine print, but it definitely started the experience off bad. Our reservation was for 6:45pm and we finally got seated at 7:01pm. After being seated and ordering, we waited over an hour and a half for our food to be started. We left the restaurant at 9:20pm, we were there for 2.5 hours! Once our chef started cooking, we didn't get a full show because they were running so late. We missed out on the fire that we saw every other table get and that made the experience lackluster. I'm not sure if they're required to do all of the show, but it was just us watching the chef cook, which was slightly awkward. Our server was so busy, they barely checked on us. We didn't even get some of the courses we were to get and didn't get our water refilled until the very end of the meal when we were about to leave. The food itself was bland without any of the sauces and for the cost of the entree and experience, it was over priced. For the cost of what we got, it was truly not worth it. Every other table seemed like they had fun, it was pretty loud and lively. Our table was quiet and it was hard watching everyone get seated after us and eat before eus and get a dynamite show. We didn't get anything we were expecting. I understand it was a busy night, but it was a terrible wait even with a reservation, and service was super slow and not attentive. Though all staff was nice and treated us kindly, it was still a terrible experience overall. Some people at our table had to leave before we got our food due to the wait and I don't blame them. There was also no offer to comp or makeup for the wait, but we probably won't be back. This expensive experience left a bad taste.

The quietest and quickest hibachi I have ever experienced!! The hibachi chef talked with his lowest volume of voice. It's very hard to hear. Not much talking either beside confirm with our food orders. The hibachi chef just finished cooking and left our table. We just started eating our main entrées probably no longer than 3 minutes. The waittress came and asked how everything was. Right after that, she already asked if we needed any boxes?! I mean, that just makes me feel very rushed . The food is way too salty. I probably will never go back to benihana. I been there once a long time ago, I forgot what the reason I don't like it the last time. I thought I would give it a try again. Oh well, nothing improved, but worse this time.

Upscale, modern, and traditional Japanese steakhouse. You get to enjoy a cooking show performed by your chef of your selected platters. Great food with great service. Parking walking distance from the restaurant.

I totally enjoyed my experience. It has been years since I ate at Benihana and I am happy my friends and I chose this spot. The service was great and Chef Chul was entertaining and engaging. I will definitely check out this location again.

In the heart of the bustling city light, Lies Benihana, a culinary delight. Where chefs wield their knives with artful grace, And every dish is a masterful embrace. Here, food is not just meant to be eaten, But watched, as if a play, unbeaten. Onion volcanoes erupt with flair, While shrimp tails flip through the air. Rice sizzles, veggies chop, The show goes on, it doesn't stop. Sauces mingle, meats sear, Bringing every sense near.

Jerry was phenomenal!! He was charismatic and engaging! I appreciated the attention he paid to myself and my mom for her birthday! And every morsel of my meal was a delightful dance to my taste buds! 10/10! And Maddi was very attentive. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant to the time we left, our interactions with EVERY staff member felt warm and welcoming!! Good job on these new employees. I’ve been a customer for 17 years and this was the absolute greatest service I have ever received!!!

On Sept 16, it was a very special day at Benihana’s for my son as he turned the Big 10 and magically enough we were paired with our amazing Chef- Rocky- who also celebrated 44 years of life with everyone at our table. It was a magical, fun celebration for everyone, but most importantly the smile and joy from the birthday boys will be a forever memory. Thank You Rocky for bringing out all your fun, and showing your amazing talents on the grill— the double volcano was my sons top favorite. The food and entertainment was AMAZING, along with the energy and vibe at our table was more than we expected!! Chef ROCKY is truly the BEST and we hope to celebrate life again with him next year!! Happy Birthday Rocky 🎂🥳🎉🤪

Wow, this location (Polaris) has really gone down hill. The waitress was very slow and showed no emotion, even when she spilled a full drink on a customer sitting next to me. Our cook didn’t even do any tricks that we have come to know in the past and seemed very unmotivated and lazy and looked tired. When I mentioned that the rice was undercooked just about everyone at our table agreed. It was terrible. Our empty bowls sat at the table for a long time before the (slow) waitress came to collect them. The atmosphere has gone down too. The menu prices have remained same though, if not higher! Needless to say, we won’t be going back, unless there are some major changes for the better. We are surprised it’s still in business.

Jeremey was our server and he was fabulous. He was as firey and fun as the red mohawk he sported. Jeremey kept the table laughing and still managed to make our meals delicious. Here’s to you Jeremey! SYP. Hope to see you again.

My wife and I had the great opportunity to meet Cynthia, bar tender and waitress there, and she made our day! she was super kind, careful and lovely plus big expertise that took our experience couple levels up! I'll need several more stars to rate her, please go there and sit by the bar for the greatest enjoyment, food was delicious so cooks are greatly appreciated too

Our chef Devonte was great! Very personable and put on a great show. I hope that future diners are lucky enough to have him as their chef. Our waiter wasn’t the best, he was training someone but didn’t know his alcohol’s available, drinks took a very long time to get to the table and they didn’t come out all at once even when they were ordered all together (that’s why it’s only 4 stars instead of 5)

Celebrated my husbands birthday and the star of our table was our 4yo having her first hibachi experience. Jeremy was our chef and he was great. Brought my daughter out of her shell quickly by preparing a mini meal for her babydoll. She later told me that it was so kind of him to think of her baby 😙 Phillip was our server and he was filling in that night because he’s actually a manager. He did an awesome job. We had a table of 11 and everyone accommodated us beautifully. We did have a minor delay due to our grill not being on, so that took some time to get squared away. Jeremy was mean to me because I’m a Michigan fan and he is sad to be a Buckeye fan but that’s not his fault 😂.

Always a great experience. I was eating alone, so I went to the bar area for some happy hour specials. The spicy salmon roll was oishii (delicious). The onion soup was great and light, and the hibachi chicken rice was yummy, but overkill after the sushi. Why do I never stop eating sooner? Service was very good, even though I could tell they were a bit short-staffed. Definitely worth a stop for the sake as well.

Great experience! So much food, definitely worth the price. Chul is great and humorous! Please note if you come for the visual cooking, the tables are for 6 people and they will fill up the table wether you are in a party of 6 or not. Me and my friends are introverts and did not know this before arriving..oops.

My family brought me to the Columbus, Ohio Benihana for my birthday on October 22, 2022 and it was wonderful! Our chef was Jon and our waitress was Emily, both phenomenal!!! The only reason that I didn't give 5 stars was because there was butter and onions on the wall. YIKES! However, Jon actually cleaned it before began cooking. We couldn't have gotten a better team.

Overall a fun dining experience on par with other habachi restaurants, suited well for large groups or families. The hibachi steak was tasty but expensive ($30) for how much food you get. It was tasty, which mostly came from their whipped garlic butter that they spread on everything. Knocked a star due to cost. Jeremey was a funny hibachi chef that help make our night memorable.

We made a reservation and was able to get seated early. We received everything very promptly and refills were offered often (without being obtrusive). Ty was our chef and he was friendly and engaging. The food tasted great and the service was superb. I appreciated their desire to make sure everything tasted as it should. The three of us enjoyed our food and our experience!

First time. Service was just OK. I've had much better habachi experiences in terms of them being fun and engaging. The chef was a bit dry and lacked enthusiasm, no real "tricks". I got chicken hibachi that isn't pictured. But it was pretty good. Also tried the the dumplings which I prefer to have a harder sear. But the flavor was good. My friend ordered the Las Vegas roll I believe- it's fried & it was so delicious. Love that you get 6 courses because the ice cream and green tea sealed the meal. I'd return.

I have been here many times and Ty was the most incredible chef we have ever had. He was VERY attentive and friendly, asking specifics for each of our items. He had such a good sense of humor and the food was amazing. Our server Ben was very kind and helpful, he brought us everything we needed. We could tell the staff was busy and working hard but the service more than made up for it, even the bartender had our cocktails out quickly and they were delicious. Phillip the manager was apologetic for the wait even though he didn’t need to be. His hospitality was unmatched and he was so sweet. All of them deserve raises honestly. Such a wonderful meal all around!!!!

We went during lunch. Food was good overall. We had shrimp tempura sushi and beef julienne and chicken hibachi. The sushi was solid but not very much shrimp. Service was good as well. Second time at this location and it’s been good both times.

I came in for lunch on a saturday afternoon to kill time while I waited for the mall stores to open up. I ordered some sushi rolls and a beer. The bartender named Jennifer was VERY nice to me and super cool. She has awesome vibes. She is a real sweetheart and is great at her job. She is personable and caring and has a big warm heart. I had a pleasant experience dining there and chatting with her! She was very kind to me, has a great attitude and sense of humor. She recommended a really good beer to me I enjoyed it (: I let her pick one for me that Ive never tried before and she did a good job finding something I would like. Thank you Jennifer!

The Hibachi Chef was great very personable and attentive, great attention for detail. The waitress was a little slow and very businesslike. Everyone else was welcoming. The food was good and priced right for the Polaris area. The plum wine is phenomenal. Overall a good experience. I'd go again.

Kevin our chef was funny and entertaining. My steak was made to perfection with my requested teriyaki sauce.

Our chef (Sway) was super friendly and personable. He made my steak to perfection. My only issue was my shrimp was too salty. The sushi is amazing there. However, the waiter was terrible. It was busy so I’ll give him credit for that. But we keep having to ask the chef to get our waiters attention for refills etc. He never same in his own. Also someone at the table asked for extra rice after the chef started making our meal. He asked the waiter to have someone make it in the back and they went back and forth about it the book would be willing to make it. I thought that was unprofessional to make the guest feel guilty about asking for more food. The waiter didn’t have table etiquette, reaching over people’s food, touching glasses at the top. It wasn’t terrible experience thanks to sway but it wasn’t the best either.

Ethan was a great hibachi chef for my family. I got the Sumo Roll and the Shrimp Crunchy Roll. Also an Oreo milkshake. One roll is plenty of food. I didn’t realize the size.

  • 4/5 KANDARP S. 2 years ago on Google
Well you will surely love the presentation and food here... live cooking and the famous hibachi cooking n cuisine always is attractive. I like the spicy hibachi chicken lunch over here. Also the place has limited chefs thus they serve only 2 table at a time when I reach there so be patient or get your seat reserved in advance while coming here. I will say food was good given and the have both blend of spices or light flavors food as from your choice.

Our party arrived at 7:40 for an 8pm reservation. We were seated about 8:10. We sat there until about 8:30 until a hostess came and stated our sever was busy and took our drink orders. While waiting for our drinks I looked over near the bar and saw what would be our server take off her shoe and scratch her foot. She then disappeared then came and too our order. Our chef came to the table and we could tell he was new. He tried to do a couple tricks with the spatula but was still learning. He cooked our food poorly, the shrimp was either raw or over cooked. My wife’s steak was not cut and was strung together, between cooking different courses he would scrape the griddle and then end up mixing some of the scrapings into the next course. After seeing the server remove her shoe and scratch her foot for the second time I told a manager who apologized. After the meal which went mostly uneaten everyone at the table wanted to speak to the manager. The manager was kind and listened to out complaints and gave a 50% off discount. After leaving I realized that I still paid $75 for 2 meals that went uneaten. Maybe I should have asked for more off I don’t know, I’m just disappointed. Also, from the time we sat down until we left took just under 2 hours!
