Best workshops. We’ve been already to the Fall and winter workshops for glass blowing and we’ve loved them. The marketplace is great too and so are the local collections. Well maintained and a “must visit.”

I had such a great time. They have so much to view. They had a wide variety of works of art. They had so many historical things that highlight Columbus. They had such beautiful art and had great details about the pieces. This was a wonderful outing and I recommend anyone that enjoys art to come and enjoy the museum. It's got something for everyone.

My wife and I visited Columbua ga last weekend and were looking for fun thongs to do so we decided to give this museum a try. We really weren't expecting it to be much at all bit boy were we surprised. The place is huge inside and it has so many exhibits. Art, history, weapons, and so much of our states historical history for the central ga area.. We spent almost 3 hours on one floor. The pictures I posted here do it no justice but we would absolutely recommend stopping in and taking a walk around it is worth the time.

Very clean and professional museum. My grandmother and I have gone for their glass blowing workshops and love those!! However, the museum is usually void of people unless an event is going on. If you are younger than 50, the staff and guards follow you around and watch you, and do not come off as friendly or willing to make conversation. It is very overbearing. This distracts from the very interesting and well put together showcasing and collections.

Loved it! Lovely place, beautiful art, great tributes. The only complaint I have is with the guards, I understand that they are trying to enforce rules and make sure no one breaks or damages anything, but they could be a lot nicer about it. Otherwise, it was awesome, I highly recommend it.

An exquisite find in Columbus GA. We entered the family exhibition of the surrounding area and who they were. The audio stories were awesome. The stories are heartfelt and personal, just wonderful. The history from 10000 years ago was short and could be updated with more details. I visited the LSU Natural history museum which added iPads with background information to the exhibition. All and all a great spot, I will return when back to the area.

Such a well done museum. Beautiful facilities and such interesting history and cool exhibits. Outdoor garden was nice. It is free to go in and my boyfriend and I spent about two hours there.

Don't forget to visit this cultural icon of Columbus! I learned so much about portrait history, furniture, and culture of Columbus by coming here. It's not just history, they have art by featured African American artists that I had never heard of, and can now appreciate thanks to my exposure here. I wasn't able to see the uppermost level, but it looked interactive and had beautiful symbolism. Too bad my kid lost his temper and I had to leave early!

It is small right now but they are remodeling the big one next door. The kids loved the activity room and the funny pictures of real people.

We love the community programming for all ages! And even during renovations, the museum is offering excellent exhibits like the awkward family photos in a temporary space. Gold stars!

I made a blown glass pumpkin! Kelly Robertson was the glass artist teaching the class and he was wonderful. when picking colors I ask for a certain color for the stem that he had not brought, and he ended up mixing some other things and making a custom blend to try and get the color for my pumpkin stem similar to the one I wanted. He showed us how we were going to do everything and helped us, so that there was no way that we would end up with a wonky looking pumpkin. We had brought a 10 year old with our group and he was wonderful talking to her at her level and not overloading her with information and making sure that her pumpkin came out just as good as the adults Pumpkins did. Case friendly and outgoing and loves to talk to people. The next day when I went to go pick up my pumpkins, even though he was helping prep for a class he recognized me, an impressive feat since I had gone the day before wearing old jeans and t-shirt my hair pulled back in ponytail and the day that I picked up my pumpkins waa Sunday so my hair was down, makeup on, and in a dress and heels. and I know that he really knew who I was because he called me by the nickname that he had given me, Birmingham. I cannot wait for Christmas when we do Snowman and or ornaments!

Very fun experience. A lot of interesting exhibits here. The bottom floor kids play area was so much fun as well. Staff are very friendly and courteous. Really enjoyed our family visiting this. Best off all? It is free to visit.

We enjoyed the artwork. My wife is a painter and an art buff, she loves going to any showing and paint gallery we come across. The place is so large we explored for hours on our initial visit. If we're in the area again we may revisit to see the rotating works. Front desk was super nice but gift shop worker was not attentive at all and had no knowledge of the stock. No answers about anything, once we did manage to get their attention off the phone. I know the gift shop isn't the main purpose of this museum so there won't be a star deducted but jeez. If you're going to have a salesman at least have them know what they're selling.

Beautiful gallery! From the outside I expected it to be a small collection of boring work but I was wrong! They had quite a bit of work to offer! There was also a children's room for them to interact and play, which I thought was a genius idea. If you enjoy museums and visiting Columbus, this is a place to see!

The actual museum is currently being renovated and the gift shop is all that's open. There are a few paintings on display, but I guess we'll have to wait until next year.
