Gym is nice enough but safety is getting to be a real issue. There are lots of issues with equipment being broken for months on end, fights that start on the basketball court spill out to the gym floor and now there has been a shootout in the parking lot because they ignore the problem. Several of my friends cars now have bullet holes..

(All photos taken in one visit) The amenities are nice, but they come at the price of trash on the floors, sanitizer and paper towels consistently out of stock. The patrons hog the sanitizer bottles and only clean the machines prior to use. During mid day its a pretty open gym, which is ideal for me. I hate waiting for machines. But i do wish the staff would be more active in the gym. If they cleaned the machines routinely and stepped in when people are super setting, this gym would be 5 stars...sadly i dont think that will happen.

After the LA Fitness name changed, the management are fix equipment that has been broken for over a month (example, decline bench press and multiple leg machines and also the spa). Crew is always on their phones and not doing their regular routine of picking up weights and putting weights in order. Not keeping soap and paper supplies stocked in the locker is also very common thing with the staff. They changed the monthly fee to $9.99 and keep enrolling the membership every day. As a result you should wait for a while the use equipment. And also the pool always busy.

Continually disappointing. I've been going here for years and it's been consistently sub par. There a few key staff here that are amazing, but after that there's not much left to like other than the proximity to my house. If they weren't so close I'd have stop coming years ago. I enjoy the early morning staff and patrons, there's a nice community really early. But as it gets later in the day things just get worse. There's constant problems in the basketball courts which typically results in a revolving set of ridiculous rules that only punish the responsible patrons. Numerous machines and equipment are always broken or missing. There aren't enough bars or clamps for all of the benches and various racks to be used simultaneously. There are literally only like 3 clamps remaining for the entire gym, creating safety hazards as people are forced to lift with no clamps securing the weights. The sauna, which is one of the main things I continue to come for, is always broken. Most of these issues are sadly the result of a minority of terrible patrons who steal and seemingly intentionally break things. The problem is the location does nothing to fix or mitigate things, other than again making rules that only impact/punish the responsible patrons. They make promises that they're addressing it and then months/ years go by with no change. It's very frustrating. I think most staff in the building are really trying and the problem lies with upper/corporate management, but it's becoming increasingly harder to remain a paying customer with such subpar service. I'm slowly building my home gym and may eventually give up. If I had a home sauna (working on that), I'd already have left. This is sad because there is a great community here in the mornings and a few super star staff members. They've really got to do better overall though for the patrons and the staff who are trying to hold things together.

Cool Facility . Employees rude and want your money for sure. Me and my boyfriend got day passes to try it out , My ID was taken at the door and I had to fill out a questionnaire before I could start my workout which I can understand . After my workout I was ready to go …. Had to have a sit down conversation with an employee about membership options - After I said “I’m going to wait until my PF membership expires before I sign up here but I enjoyed it “ The employee seemed to get irritated , said nothing back to me … got up and grabbed my ID from front desk and when he came back stated “Seems like your not interested at all, i won’t waste your time.” and stormed off. I’m sorry but that won’t encourage me to return again, definitely was interested ( If I have a 3 day free trial I want to use that first) . I’ll stick with PF .

This company is completely ignorant to those with special needs. They have handicap parking, but don't bother to clear snow/ice off their sidewalks in the front of the gym or any of the parking lot. This isn't just a courtesy, it is the law. I brought this to the attention of the front desk, but no one moved. This job calls for a shovel, but that would also require someone inside to put down their phone and somewhat exert themselves, so this is probably out of the question.. I guess some don't learn until they get sued...That seems to solve ignorance very quickly. So, I, in a WHEELCHAIR shoveled a path for myself.

Hands down they have the best staff here! Tony is amazing at keeping the gym up to par and clutter free! The front desk always greets with a smile and friendly banter, the new manager in charge is doing the best to keep up with everyone's request. Love love love this eSporta 🩷 y'all are all stars

very much agree with all this It happened to me the same....Highly disappointed in their personal training/sales department. When I signed up for personal training sessions, it was explained to me in person that I would get to keep any unused training sessions (which are already paid for) as long as I remained a member. Now that I am looking to cancel the training plan and use the sessions I have already paid for, they point out the fine print of the contract states that the sessions expire 30 days after cancellation. It was not explained to me that being a “member” of the gym is not the same as being a “member” of personal training which is, apparently, not connected in any way to gym membership. Very backwards and shady sales tactic used to get me to sign a contract I would never have signed otherwise. I knew I was unlikely to use all of the sessions in the 12-month contract term, but I expected to remain a gym member and be able to continue to use them since they’d already been paid for. Instead, I am stuck continuing to pay for MORE sessions just to use up the backlog of sessions I have already paid for and not used. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT enroll in any personal training at LA Fitness! Not at this club or any other.

9-2022 update. This place is gross and unclean. It is poorly managed and the equipment is not well maintained. half the screens are broken or have big black dots on them. When I complained that the clock by the hot tub was broken, they just swapped that clock with the clock by the pool. Hilarious. Not the pool clock is broken. I do NOT recommend this place. Go to Planet Fitness if you want a well-run, clean workout.

I had a most crazy experience today at the Broad St. Location. I was using the restroom and a lady custodian walked in unannounced and just stared at me like no big deal. When I complained to Matrika the manager he was unsympathetic and told me I could quit the membership or just attend another gym. He said we only have a day janitor and she's all they got. When I suggested that he go through the restroom and make sure all the men were aware he acted as if that was too much to ask. The place is filthy, they rarely sweep out the courts, and the bathrooms are always a mess. I would not join Esporta. They are going downhill very fast.

Facility is ok, average LA/Esporta Fitness. You can see how much they care about their facility and clients too though. They don't even have an estimate on their sauna or hot water availability, great way to manage a gym. See picture attached.

This gym has some significant issues that require urgent attention. The women's restroom is plagued by ant infestations. When made aware of their water bug problem they covered it with a trash can. Several pieces of equipment have been out of order for months, and the recurring fire alarm disturbances on weekends are quite disruptive. Potential members should think twice before considering a membership or attending the East Broad Street gym due to the ongoing management challenges.

Pro: equipment and gym itself seems clean and in good shape. Con: only one pure free squat rack. SOCIAL DISTANCING AND MASKS ARE NOT REALLY A THING HERE; both customers and staff are pretty 50/50 with wearing masks, even when walking around (and that's a generous estimate). Disappointing.

New management and it s better than before for sure. The good : new equipment, newer big building, the hot tub, sauna, the pool. Staffs care more then the old management. The locker could use more cleaning often. Updated1/12/2021

My health is wealth So I make sure I burn all my unnecessary calories off at the prestigious fitness center called "LA Fitness " Lovely sport center with nearly every sports equipments for every body parts can be found and used accurately without anyone bordering you or in a haste. Staff are professional and welcoming too happy faces. Like the training I get from my Personal Trainer I loved to be pushed to my extreme. Will never stop exercising there and no where else.

I get what I pay for. For an $11 monthly basic membership (I joined in early 2021), I have access to free weights, some cardio and pulley machines and an open field to do cartwheels if I wanted (joking). I concur that the place could be cleaner and broken machines could be fixed sooner (or at least have signage to prevent potential customer injury). I have pinpointed my working go-to machines and equipment at this point and go early or at low occupation times for uninterrupted access. I also bring my own Clorox wipes just in case supplies are out at the sanitation stations. I’m just glad this place is still open and survived the pandemic. The staff I’ve encountered have been friendly - front desk, even a man whom I believe is the maintenance person in the morning.

Not bad but could be better. The pool and sauna could use cleaning. I like taking classes but the choices here are not very exciting could use a more high energy Zumba or kickboxing etc. Also the hours need to be longer. I liked when it was la fitness stayed open late.

Cable towers have no attachments and machines have had maintenance signs on them for weeks. You'll be charged full price but will only be able to use the cardio equipment and dumbbells.

Maintenance is terrible – bugs in the bathroom, a broken abductor machine for months, and a smelly basketball court. The gym atmosphere is unpleasant, mainly with high schoolers loitering instead of working out.

This place I thought was a dream when we started going. For the price and amenities it became our choice over where we were. Over time we realized the place isn't cleaned well. The equipment is dated and the staff could care less to build rapport or do their jobs (sanitize equipment whats that?). There was one maintenance guy who did try but once he left (the only person to clean as best he could) we knew we had to go. I would not have left this review if it weren't for today. We went to cancel our membership and walking in a man in a wheel chair was literally shoveling himself a path to the door as the staff up front just watched. he visibly struggled to hold his chair while pushing the shovel with his other hand. It was heartbreaking. My husband helped him finish shoveling the path and he was very thankful but the fact that they don't even keep the grounds up for situations like that is sad. We had no issues canceling and we are happily moving on.

I have been attending this gym for a few years and it works very well for me. The staff typically are friendly, but most don't usually stay very long. They have everything you could ask for in a gym, although all I really needed was the stair stepper, the hot tub, and pool to reel me in. The facility is fairly clean during my visits. They bill me automatically on the same day, never early or late since I've been a member and my price has never changed. Respectfully, it serves it's purpose so I would reccomend😊

Decent gym with horribly arrogant staff. How Jordan George is employed is beyond me. He mocked me for trying to cancel my membership because of a back injury and refused to help me. Told me to contact hamilton road location and refused to answer the phone until I called 5 times. A direct violation of their own terms and service and tip toeing with a lawsuit. If I was esporta management I'd fire jordan today.

Been a member for 2 yrs - and definitely more lows than highs. Constant issues: machines being broken and "scheduled for repairs" since I've been going, they didn't have hot water for 2 weeks straight, and didn't respond to messages about it, and staff do not maintain the property/spaces adequately for how many people are using the space. Usually disgusting showers that are broken, too. Trade the overly pushy sales bros for some people that actually improve the space, please!

They do not want to fix the sauna, which is out for almost 5 months they just want to save money they don’t wanna pay own bills no hot water no sauna yet publicize that they have sauna. This is unacceptable. Let’s sign a petition, and they will see the consequences that they have done

I have been a member at this gym since it first opened and it's gone through it's ebbs and flows but the Operations manager at this location currently, I believe his name is Jordan, has whipped this place back into shape. The machines are getting fixed and communicated to the members, the locker room smells great. I really appreciate his high level of attention to detail. I encourage more people to come to this location.

Place is trashed and most the machines don't work and haven't for a while. Since they changed names from la fitness they have gone in the dumps. They need to either close this location for a week and fix all the things that need fixed and clean the place or just keep it closed. Sad it used to be a nice place 5 or 6 years ago. I'll be canceling and finding another gym. Stay away

The facility needs work. The sauna is the main reason I’ve stayed. sanitation has been improving. Safety is important. Their treadmills are old, I don’t believe the equipment is under contract and it doesn’t work well. Cardio equipment is limited. my treadmill just slipped while on it, almost fell, thank God I didn’t.

I’ve been working out at this gym for almost 3 years and never have experience such rudeness and disrespect. Elvion (manager) was the most unprofessional employee I’ve ever dealt with. There’s no excuse for such behavior towards a loyal customer and would rather find a better gym then be treated as such.

As a current member and have been for a long time, I’ve seen this club progressively go downhill. Most recent experiences have left me thinking the staff thinks it’s free and we shouldn’t complain about anything. It’s become a social club. Eating Cheetos while occupying and bench and refusing to move. Paper towels rarely stocked. I usually have to go three and four sinks down to find soap. Locker room reeks or weed. Inside of lockers, stink and looks like has never been cleaned. Not sure when the floors were last mopped. Machines constantly broken for months at a time. The scanner at the desk barley works and staff will mock you instead of helping. I could go on and on. I’ve paid my last bill. Moving to a better club.

No consistency among the workers. I signed a 6 month contract for their training membership. I spoke with one of their trainers and he told me I wouldn’t get billed again since my 6 month membership ended. Well I got billed again and when I spoke to another worker he told me I wouldn’t get refunded because I didn’t cancel in time. Apparently after the 6 months, the training sessions are billed month to month. They completely screwed me over and refused to refund me. I canceled both the training and gym memebership. They don’t know how to take responsibly for their mistakes and their customers end up paying for it.

It's as you'd expect a gym to be. Showers dirty, full of trash, no hot water, employees telling you to leave early, if you have a friend with the guest pass, I recommend trying for 2-6 months. Personally, I wouldn't pay money to work out here under these conditions. The use of camera equipment for Instagram videos should not be acceptable behavior for a public gym that people pay to use.

It's a nice chain of gyms around Columbus very good value and the yoga classes are wonderful. They have a small size staff so obviously they can't be running around picking up people's trash all the time. It's the peoples fault for being pigs in this place. Also a reviewer wrote that someone was entering with a wheelchair and the staff didn't hold the door open.. well, first off the reviewer who wrote that could helped the poor wheel chair person and second the wheel chair person shouldn't be at a gym they should be at physical therapy.good gym but some of the people who go there are bums

Used to use Esporta in Illinois, Went for trial at broad st. Location. Front desk never acknowledged me when I entered, I ended up just walking in. Everything seems to need repairs or service, sauna, equipment. Equipment it self was not very clean. Non-guest need to pay $40.00 to enter basketball court seems extreme. I did not stay nor will I return to this location.

The initiation fees are very expensive and somewhat confusing. The staff is okay but couple of the managers were rude and don’t honor certain promotions that were going on. The actual facility is the best LA in Columbus.

Prepare to be harassed about personal training and your fitness goals. You will get pressed about personal training when you first sign up, then will continue to receive calls about it almost weekly when you are a member. I've emailed LA corporate about it and the calls still haven't stopped. Agree with other reviews that promotions like guest passes and first week free are not an option here. The lack of mask enforcement is also very concerning, which makes working out during a peak time almost impossible.

Avoid investing your money and time in this gym. Once you commit to a membership, you're essentially bound by a 4-month contract with little value. Numerous machines have been malfunctioning for months, and the staff neglects cleanliness, evident in hand marks on basketball court doors, food in lockers, and rust in the hot tub. The water fountain is filthy and sometimes the food is expired in the vending machine. Even when raised with the staff, these issues are met with indifference. Exploring alternative gyms or fitness in the area would be a better use of your time and money.
