This is hands down the best Mexican food (and maybe even food in general) I have had in Columbus! My boyfriend and I went here 3 days in a row and will definitely be taking friends and family here when they visit. The food is quick, healthy, fresh, flavorful, very reasonably priced and delicious :) (For what it is worth to add to my opinion, I love cooking healthy food and come from a Mexican background.) The lady who works here is also very friendly and provides excellent service. I highly recommend the chicken tostadas with the guacamole salsa. We would give this 10 stars if we could!

I tried one taco each: Pollo, Asada, and Carnitas. The "mild" green salsa is OK but I prefer the thicker (non-purred) tomatillo salsa at Poblanitas. They were generous with the fresh cilantro and the chicken was less dry than other taco trucks around Columbus. The steak (Asada) was generous and tasty. The Carnitas was a little dry though. If you like taco trucks, then this one is worth trying once at least. There is a $1.50 charge for credit card and you can't get crema or cheese for no charge like at some other taco trucks.

My number one favorite place to get tacos. I'm originally from California, and this reminds me of home. She makes everything fresh and it's all delicious! I love the beef tongue, carnitas, chorizo and chicharron.

I want to make a comment about this food trailer. The tacos are good, but the lady who works there is too rude. I think a good treatment of customers would be better. It was my first and last time that I bought food there. 👎

There are so many fast food places on campus in which the food is decent at best, but La Popular is truly a hidden gem that doesn’t get enough recognition. This is by far the best authentic Mexican food truck I have ever had. Everything on the menu is 12/10, she makes all the sauces herself, and everything it just so fresh and delicious. I recently asked if she could make me a burrito bowl even though it wasn’t on the menu, she made it for me anyways and now I try to get it at least once to twice a week. I absolutely love this place, and supporting local businesses. The woman who does the cooking is so sweet, and has great customer service skills. Everyone I have recommended this place to has also loved it, and I hope this review convinces someone else to give this amazing food truck a try

Great food, however I’m not sure why the last 4 times I’ve gone there is nobody there working. I always go during business hours and they are just closed. Really gets annoying

There are many Mexican takeouts/fast food spots on campus. But this one take the cake by mile.The food here is always fresh and affordable. The sauces are always made fresh. My personal favorite meat is the chicharron on her burritos with guacamole salsa or haberno. My girlfriend and I are regular there and the woman loves us

Real Mexican food best in the town they have variety of meats especially beef intestines and beef tongue, homemade salsas habanero salsa, red spicy salsa, guacamole salsa and tomatillo salsa, affordable prices look clean and neat. The owner it’s very friendly and nice with everybody!

Tried this place for the first time and the lady was sweet but the chicken burrito I ordered was the worst I ever had, unseasoned meat and soggy lettuce. I won’t be going back.

This place has the best authentic Mexican food on this side of Columbus. And the owner is a wonderful person.

Easily one of the best and most underrated hispanic cuisine spots in the campus area! Everything is affordable, especially with the variety in options. There are enough choices to get something different every time, but enough similarity that it won't feel mysterious when you try something new. Since the pandemic started, this has been one of my daily visits because it's so close to home. And the owner is so very friendly when you get to know her! If you haven't tried La Popular, you are missing out on a truly satisfying gem in the campus community!

I'm IN LOVE with the tacos from La Popular! (I went three times in one week.) They're the best I've had in town, and the woman who runs the truck is so sweet. I highly recommend the Mexican Sausage and spicy pork tacos. La Popular is a must-try for sure! Wish I could rate it 6/5 stars.

Marias tacos are on my top 3 in the city - try her gorditas…. Tostadas… everything is absolutely incredible and Delicious every single time ! Gracias Maria!!!

We lived in Chicago for ten years and had easy access to some of the best Mexican food in the United States: Taqueria La Popular could easily compete with any of them. The gorditas and tacos are definitely the standouts but the tortas are good too. The tomatillo salsa is great, as is the spicy red salsa, although when they say spicy, they mean it.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this food truck!!!! I eat veggie burritos from here at least once a week. The flavors are incredible......radishes are an amazing addition to the already beautifully grilled zucchini, yummy beans, and FULL of flavor AS WELL as HEAT hot sauce. Super affordable and NOT a place to miss!

Moving from Detroit, I was desperate looking for a taco place/stand. Thank goodness for this taqueria. Their tacos are only $2.50 (similar in Detroit) and have really good al pastor and lengua tacos! (Edit as of 09/12/22: the tacos are now $3 but similar quality.) I thought the quesadillas were sort of expensive until I got one. Those things are 2x the size of a normal quesadilla, packed with meat cheese and cilantro and onion. Most places in Columbus are either way over priced for one taco or aren’t authentic and are served poorly. This place is perfect! The lady taking orders is fast, kind and cooks great food. Only taco place I recommend so far is this taqueria.

Best tacos, burritos, and tortas on campus!! I have been coming here for 4 years and I leave with a satisfied stomach and a happy heart every time. María always puts a smile on your face and sends you away with the best food on campus! A must try.

Steak tacos are amazing and the prices are great. However, the menu is a bit limited and there aren’t any side options. Overall an excellent place for street tacos.

Absolutely the best tacos in town or anywhere else as far as I’ve had. The chorizo is phenomenal and makes for a delicious choice on anything from burritos to tortas. I would feel remorse if I didn’t also mention the outstanding lengua tacos, delicious tender chopped beef tounge the way it was meant to be cooked. The pollo and steak are always tender and mouth watering choices. All of the meat is fresh and well cooked/ spiced. Really there is nothing on the menu not worth trying!

DONT LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS!! This is by far the WORST Taqueria I’ve EVER had! The first red flag was the Kroger bag and not having proper containers (the burrito I ordered had no container and was POORLY WRAPPED) the tacos was on a small plate with foil ontop and completely smashed because the burrito was placed on top of it! But the food it self , WAS DISGUSTING!!! EVERY single bite I took of my small carnitas taco I bit into BONE each time! The flavor of the carnitas was horrible and it was old , As well as the chicken! It was been tossed around so much themat it was damn near shredded (not all of it) The chicken had the WORST FLAVOR I’ve ever tasted!!! I just wasted almost 30$ and ended up giving all of my food to the stray Animals SMH!! This is what I get for not wanting to drive 10 mins away for THE BEST TACO STAND EVER !!! I feel like I cheated and I regretted it INSTANTLY!! Thts what I get for wanting to try something due to the “convenience” of it being rite around the corner 🤦‍♀️ NEVER AGAIN!! Taqueria La Chaprita is the BEST taco stand I’ve ever had in Columbus and I STAND ON THAT!!! And there was no chili toreadoes (seasoned peppers and onions on the grill which comes with every meal at the La Chaprita) like ugghhhh when I say EVERYTHING , I MEAN EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE WAS HORRIBLE .. I want my money back 😭😭😭
