By far, the most disgusting and unclean gym I have ever been to in my life. Trash, dirt, and lint all over the floors and upstairs mat. How bout the staff vacuums every so often at least? Downstairs feels like you are imprisoned in your local gulag itā€™s so dark. Go upstairs if you want to actually be able to see. On top of that, the person who organized the layout of the machines must have given up half way through. Is all the leg equipment organized together. No. You have to walk all over the gym to find another leg machine. Tucked away between the abs and fly machine upstairs you can find another leg curl for anyone looking. No itā€™s not in a logical place near the other machines similar to its kind. Only got two stars because the staff is all really nice.

Iā€™m sure this will get lost with all the other poor reviews left in the past year but I am pretty disappointed in how quickly this gym has gone bad. Iā€™ve been going here for a while and when I first started this gym was great, having come from another gym that went downhill. In the past year this gym has gone from well maintained to mostly broken equipment. Most of the equipment in the movie theater, a huge selling point of this location, are broken or randomly reset itā€™s tracking for no reason. A small section of treadmills and ellipticals that face out the front glass face of the building, has more ā€œscheduled for maintenanceā€ signs than working machines. Lastly, most of the other machines have broken knobs that control the seat adjustments so theyā€™re permanently set to where they were left when they were broken. Most of these issues have been consistent for almost a year and the number of broken machines only goes up. No maintenance is done and the staff, instead of keeping the gym clean and organized, are on their phones or talking to friends. The hours also make no sense. Theyā€™re open later Mon-Thurs and close earlier Fri-Sun. Iā€™ve left a gym because of persistent issues before and, unfortunately, Iā€™ll probably have to do it again. From the looks of the reviews and the consistency of the problems the management is fine with raking in your money then ignoring the much needed maintenance on their equipment. Bringing it up in person also does nothing.

I came at 7:15 on a day they were supposed to close at 9:00 pm. Multiple people were trying to access the gym at this time. This Esporta especially is usually bad but I'd completely advise against going or joining.

I joined this gym a few years ago when it was still an LA fitness. Back then, it was still a great facility but after a brand change and a few years of mismanagement this gym has become a place to avoid at all costs. Machines are scattered around in seemingly random order, and weights are not placed back on their racks by either guests or staff. The floors are cluttered not only with weights but also trash that sits for days. If you don't trust the guests to clean up after themselves, good luck cleaning things off before or after you use them as paper towels and soap dispensers are rarely filled. The locker rooms and upstairs restrooms are no better and only worth use during emergencies. There has been little to no upkeep or maintenance over the years and as a result almost every single machine is in some state of varying disrepair or is flat out non-functional. Those that are non-functional sit for months without any indication that it is unsafe or whether a repair is forthcoming. The air conditioning is either non-functional as well or is turned off to save costs, frequently making the gym warmer than outside even during a heat wave and for a terrible workout experience. The gym supposedly has a new operating manager and this may help the place turn around, but it is going to take a lot of work and a long time before things are up to snuff again. Save your money and avoid this facility, there are better, cleaner gyms you can join for much cheaper.

The gym has become quite dirty, broken and violent recently. This location used to be a well maintained gym however it seems to have picked up the problem other locations have had recently with broken equipment and extremely dirty facilities. I am willing to tolerate this as I bring my own disinfectant wipes and towels since the gym doesn't regularly have them available but it has become dangerous to workout here as the staff allows non-members in to play basketball which seems to increase the number of fights that have occurred on the basketball court which now have begun culminating with shootings. Esporta Fitness needs to start having security on duty as this is the second basketball related shooting in Columbus at an esporta in less than a year .

This gym never opens on time. Clients sitting in their car for up to an hour before someone decides to show up and come to work. My lock in the locker room was cut and my keys and wallet stolen. Staff was minimally helpful in the whole situation. Just a few days later a car window was busted and merchandise was stolen and the glass sat in the parking lot for two weeks!!! Basketball court was completely shut down from a massive fight that broke outā€¦.i came het for the pool, but Iā€™m doneā€¦this place is awful. You can never find the cleaning solution bottles to wipe equipment down either

I went on one machine and left. The front desk staff was very nice. However, the gym was muggy. I was on the hip abductor machine and condensation from the pool was dripping on the the whole time. Do not recommend coming to this location if you prefer a clean non muggy gym. I've been to polaris and downtown and both of those are very nice. This location, not so much.

My husband and I joined this gym because they have the option of a kids club where we can leave our kids while we work out and not have to find other childcare. They watch kids from 12 weeks to 12 years which was perfect for us. We got our membership a couple weeks before our youngest was 12 weeks so I wasn't able to go for the first few weeks. Once we were able to go I really enjoyed the facilities but had some reservations about the kids club as the method of checking our kid in was for the staff to just write our name and number in a notebook. (I feel they should have a system linked to the membership since they took pictures of our kids, why not use a system that uses those pictures and links to parents accounts). The issue happened about a week later, my husband received a voicemail from the kids club stating that our son was crying and if he didnt calm down soon wed have to come get him. Here's the thing, we weren't at the gym that day...and we dont have a son. I called and informed the front desk that we'd gotten this call and asked that they inform her so she could contact the right parents. I was told he would let her know. An hour later she called again and I answered. She said who she was and that she was calling from the kids club at the gym. I informed her that we were not at the gym that day. She then stated "you have to be here when I have your son you can't just leave". I then informed her that we didn't have a son and she was calling the wrong parents. She then stated "that's weird" and hung up. My husband and I then went to the gym to cancel the kids part of our membership (as at this point we were going to try and rotate our schedules so one of us could go to the gym while one of us watched the kids). We spoke to someone who cancelled this for us and informed us that the manager (Charles) would be calling us later that day to discuss this further. He never called and I feel that this is very concerning when they are supposed to be caring for members kids. Due to this I do not feel comfortable with this gym. I would give more stars as the facilities themselves were okay (a bit dirty and lots of equipment out of order) but i did love the classes offered. I just can't trust an organization that is going to have so little care for the well-being of my children (and others)

Edited after calling Esporta: I called Esporta on 04/11 to inquire about what was being done as a result of the shooting. The person who answered said they werenā€™t sure but thought something was being done and then hung up before asking my name or for my phone number to follow-up. Donā€™t waste your time or money going here, as they clearly couldnā€™t care less. This gym is completely filthy and has a plethora of broken equipment that never seems to get fixed. Most importantly, someone lost their life playing basketball at Esporta, and they never made any attempt to directly notify members, or enact meaningful changes (outside of closing the basketball court) to ensure this never happens again.

Scheduled a tour before signing up, so glad I did. When I walked in, I was told by a guy with long hair to ā€œwait while I go get Charlesā€ (the guy I was scheduled to tour with). I literally waited 45 minutes after that just sitting there before I walked out. The guy who told me to wait didnā€™t acknowledge my presence after telling me to wait, let alone try to get ā€œCharlesā€. Dude, Iā€™ve worked in customer service for most of my lifeā€¦ I fully understand if youā€™re busy - I get it & I donā€™t mind to waitā€¦BUT this guy was just chatting it up with his friends and coworkers! Aside from wasting almost an hour of my life, it smelled like must & mildew when I opened the front doors and it was absolutely packed with people - glad I didnā€™t join tbh

Started going to this gym about a year ago. First red flag was when Lance "the GM" was texting me asking hold old I was and if I was ever interested in coming and lighting cigars for him and his buddies... Weird. I called the gym and reported it and it sounds like this wasn't the first time that happened. Not sure if he still works there but worth mentioning. Creepy guy at the gym? Not my first time so screw it I was still going. It was clear that the gym was a little outdated but I knew it had been there for some time and figured they would be getting it up to par with the new business name. Flash forward a year later and the gym is in worse condition. Over 60% of the machines or equipment are broken. Everything is covered in layers of dirt, grease and grime. The stair steppers are so bad I was thrown off of one when it decided to just stop mid workout. I can't wait to cancel! This gym is a joke.

Iā€™ve been coming here for years. The main theme is: rarely cleaned, never maintained until something breaks. Iā€™ve had to ask dozens of times for someone to restock paper towels in the menā€™s room. Frequently I finish working out before anyone has done so. I have complained multiple times about the sauna being ā€˜scheduled for maintenanceā€™ - meaning itā€™s shut off. This is an extremely frequent recurring problem; why they havenā€™t completely overhauled it is beyond me. I now am in the habit of calling before I go to ask if itā€™s working; when it frequently isnā€™t, I drive further to Grandview (way nicer). Just doesnā€™t seem like anyone cares about cleaning or maintenance. Iā€™ve walked on the track by physically broken treadmills for MONTHS before theyā€™ve been fixed or just removed. Management just makes excuses on why things donā€™t work and says ā€˜theyā€™re working on itā€™. If there is a manager there. Usually itā€™s a teenage kid on their phone at the front desk or literally hanging out with their friends who came to work out. When it rains a lot, the front workout area floods and the floor is wet; same for the front upper track area. At this rate Iā€™m gonna finish building out my home gym and dispute the charge on my card for this place as that seems like what you have to do. Avoid; it used to be okay in 2016/17 but post pandemic, itā€™s just.. bad.

I've never been to a gym that made me go "huh, maybe I SHOULD sign up for Planet Fitness instead." This apparently used to be a great gym before LA Fitness switched over to the Esporta brand. The whole purpose of the Esporta brand is to compete with Planet Fitness's cheap 24-hour service. Which is strange, because this location is not even 24-hour. It's clear they're incredibly understaffed and corporate does not care about this location. They have an incredible amount of equipment, but it all looks and feels unkept and dirty, in some cases even unsafe to be around. It's hotter and more humid inside the building than it is outside, and it seems as if that's made mold grow onto some of the machines. Everything feels dirty. All in all, it's a gym that /has/ the physical presence to be good, but no maintenance or management to allow it to prosper. Maybe you should sign up for the Planet Fitness instead.

This gym is welcoming and has a lot of different rooms for working out. The staff is friendly so far. The place does need to hire a cleaning crew though because it just doesnā€™t feel sanitary. I recommend having the disinfectants in all areas and putting signs that encourage sanitary practices. They do have hand sanitizers. There are a few machines that donā€™t work but otherwise itā€™s good.

Decent gym, a lot of equipments to offer, has a pool, sauna, basketball and racquetball area among others. Bring your own locks but lockers are free! Big parking lot but be responsible removing your valuable items. I must add, I like their concept of having a theater with big projection screen while working on a stationary bike or elliptical!

Used to be great 3 years ago.. clean workout areas and locker rooms, sanitizing bottles provided, working equipment and not over ran by teenagers . Kids play area to bring your kid while you workout. Total bust!! Especially after someone got killed here. I think itā€™s time for a new managed gym or to simply shut down and give people their money back for this bogus membership.

The esporta company could care less about members. All they care about is signing you up and getting your credit card number. Gangs of under age kids have taken over and despite having a great manager in Charles he is powerless in their corporate structure. The basketball quart is noise and hassle the players act like they pwn the gym in between games and kids i mentioned before have taken over the locker room and the place is dirty save your money go somewhere else

The most dirtiest gym I've ever been to. I wouldn't suggest joining if you aren't planning on getting infections & ringworm. Also they make it soooo difficult on canceling your membership.

They can never open on time. They are supposed to open at 5am. On 9/7/22 and 9/8/22 nobody arrived to open the gym. By 5:20 I left and went to work early. There is a trainer that works at 5:30 pretty much everyday but I have to leave by 6 so a half hour workout isnā€™t enough. This place is a joke. Itā€™s dirty, hot and smells terrible. If management would take some ownership and have managers come in and open the gym themselves at 5am that would help. The rare occasion they do open at 5am you walk in and itā€™s filthy. There are used paper towels everywhere and the place stinks. I think they turn the AC off at night to save money. PF is right down the street and are always open. Donā€™t waste your money on this dump.

I have been coming here for a couple of months now and I love the staff. Front desk is very helpful and their kids club is great. A big thank you to Susan at the kids club because this girl comes in no matter what and the kids love her. Especially my kid. She's very nice and welcoming and is always a pleasure to speak with. Definitely love this place.

The gym has a very convenient location, and nice people working there, but thatā€™s where it stops. 1 out 4 machines/equipment has not functioned properly in years, even though we pay $15 periodically for equipment maintenance. And it is DIRTY to the tenth power! I understand cleaning under & around equipment canā€™t be done everyday, but itā€™s ridiculous. Thereā€™s mounds of dust and dirt under & around every treadmill, stair stepper & elliptical. It would take less than a week to just vacuum. Solid 1*, check photos for visuals

First gym I've been a member to since high school and I think it's a good one. Plenty of free weight and nautilus machine. Also very clean and staff are very helpful.

Very friendly team. Staff is always willing to help, share tips and ideas for fitness goals. My experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The biggest opportunity to improve has been cleanliness, which is a commonly reviewed topic among visitors. Itā€™s been addressed and I have seen the staff working very hard the last couple months cleaning the facility and repairing equipment.

The staff at this location is very friendly and cares about the people who come in consistently. The trainer, Sara, is also great and pushes us to improve in classes and individual sessions. The atmosphere of the gym is very low-key and not like some where it may be intimidating when youā€™re first starting on your fitness journey. Everyone wants you to succeed and meet your goals.

I've been a member at this gym for a while, and it's fantastic. The equipment is top-notch, and the facilities are always clean and well-maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful, making you feel welcome. Plus, the variety of classes they offer is great for keeping workouts interesting. It's a great place to achieve your fitness goals.

I have been going for a couple years now. During that time there has been a change of upper management. Current management seems to be taking more pride in the establishment by looking to improve where needed. Such as cleanliness, obtaining new equipment (dumbbells to replace the worn ones/torn benches) etc. Overall the place has everything you need and then some. I enjoy the early morning/mid day environment when I usually get my lift in. There is always room for improvement, management seems to be aware and taking steps towards doing so being on top of it.
