I like Jacob's Creek , But OMG ITS NOW $ 30.00 A CAR 🚗 😐 This is insane people need to be worried just 5 years ago it was $7.00 what is going on and they now don't let you park by the water. This went from A family friendly park that was open during the daytime to a outrageous theft of money just to be on Canyon Lake!!!!

They need to put the sign on the main hwy stating that is no longer public. You will not be allowed entry unless you have a military ID. There were folks (man and woman) asking for the ID to even let you in. Apparently it’s all military now, and were just trying to get to the boat ramp. We had to go to canyon lake boat ramp #17 which is the closest to the military park

Today was my first time back in over 22 years. Jacob's Creek Park, and Canyon Lake have always been HOLY to me! I lived in Illinois, where there are NO lakes like Canyon Lake, the lakes in Illinois don't compare to the ones we have in Texas! I was surprised to see the 10 dollar entrance fee -- which I can accept -- but the amount of LITTER out there, UNBELIEVABLE! All I have to ask is, "Why?!" This lake was so pristine at a time, and there's NO reason it still SHOULDN'T be! Those who litter and defile this place should face SERIOUS JAIL TIME! If you are one of those that can't seem to put your waste anywhere you want, JUST STAY AWAY!

We had a wonderful Saturday in the 🌞 as we paddled around Canyon lake, swam & picnicked. $10 entry fee is well spent a the park is well kept and patrolled. Pack the cooler, fam & pups, the lake is waiting! We'll be back, again, and again . #fab5familyfun #canyonlake #pupstars #bringfido

Always a good time. Our family visits several times a year. Got to enjoy the lake with plenty of social distancing. Access in and out was controlled and made us feel safe. Hope to visit a couple more times in the near future.

Military Park is ABSOLUTELY ASTONISHING! Wildlife all over, that you stumble upon, walking through the wonderful wilderness trails along the winding beaches in Texas Hill County. If this ain't livin, I sure don't know what is! WOWWWEE! TOTALLY AMAZING! Everyone was EXTREMELY HELPFUL and POLITE! The place is clean and DEFINITELY worth checking into!

It is beautiful here I Went about two years ago and I loved it very much and since have gone 3 times and its been closed the first 2 times it was due to the virus I’m guessing and I just went a few days ago on mothers day 2022 and its closed to the general public. Military only now. So sad this was my go to place when at canyon lake.

This is a military park for them & families. It looked clean, secure and sure wish we could of stayed here. Gate booth gentleman was very kind and helpful to point us to another option.

Beautiful well kept, portable toilets on site, 2 boat ramps. Worth the 10 dollar entry fee

We were in town visiting the area and were looking for a great park with access to Canyon Lake. This park fit our needs just fine with covered picnic table areas, plenty of space to spread out and put out chairs or blankets, and great easy access to the water! The shores are a bit rocky so I would recommend wearing water shoes of some kind, I wore crocs and they worked great. I didn't give four stars because there was a large amount of trash around the park area but not in the water. I assume this is because there are a few big dumpsters but no trash cans that are conveniently placed. Another thing to consider is that when we went they had portables restrooms and the on site restrooms were closed and locked. Overall this was a good site and we had a lot of fun hanging out in the water!

Beautiful location. Clean water. No RVs here. Do not plan your visit upon announced hours, they asked us to leave 2 hours before the time they close. Also, make sure you carry cash, the machine at the park entrance has card option but it does not work. Over all, the location is nice and has grills and you can bring your own grill. I recommend it.
