This used to be one of my favorite places to go, so imagine my surprise when I spent $27 on ribs, and they were like chewing on leather every single one of them. I don't mind spending $27 on a meal if they meet expectations. I gave up on the 6th rib and through the rest of into the garbage. The french fries were nothing but bits and pieces of fries. I just couldn't believe how bad the whole meal was. Sadly, I'm not happy about this review, and I won't be returning anytime soon. When I say it was like eating leather I'm not joking.

This was by far the sorriest excuse for barbecue I’ve ever seen in my life. Ordered a double cheeseburger and was given 2 obviously frozen Kirkland brand Pattie’s with literally zero seasoning. Was excited to have some home style mac and cheese on the side. I got Kraft with some shredded, not melted, Safeway sharp cheddar. Absolutely nasty. All that for over 20$!? What a scam. This isn’t barbecue. It’s bachelor chow. Server was sweet though.

First time after covid. They are still the same in good way. Local and family own. Not like big chain restaurants.

I wish I had known of the place sooner!! It's not crowded, service is great and the food is incredible!!! It's a small looking place, but huge on flavor and servings are always too big for my belly!!

Our family has been coming here since it opened. My grandfather would take each of us cousins for breakfast. My dad would come and pickup ribs for dinner. I totally understand that the original owners sold to another. After my grandfather passed away, my Uncle took up the baton and would bring us cousins here! The service we experienced today was so poor. The waitress had a very lofty attitude. She completely ignored us and served everyone else. She spoke down to us and was so incredibly unprofessional. We saw our food was ready and it sat there forever waiting to be brought to our table. The cook had to do her job for her. Please note, it was NOT at all a busy time.

I've been going to this place since I was a kid and I haven't been back in a while. This is probably my last time I'll ever go. The ribs which I've been ordering since I was a kid 50 years now we're dry and the sauce was different. I'm bummed. Barney's used to be my favorite place. Spending $100 for three people is not something I'll ever do again.

Being from Kansas City, I’ve had a LOT of BBQ. I know good barbecue and this wasn’t it. The meat was so dry the only way it was edible was to douse it in BBQ sauce. The “red” sauce was good, but a brown gravy “sauce” on my BBQ… no thanks. The fries were standard. Service was friendly, so no complaints there. The seats could use an update. I don’t mind “old diner” atmosphere, but you can do it without ripped seats. If you’re looking for good BBQ, go elsewhere.

Food was sooo good!! Even with a new owner, the quality has not changed! Great place for BBQ!

Barney's was great! Had lunch with some long time friends Kieth Wiston Greg Leal & Pat Prothero. Always a good laugh and good for the heart to see guys after so many years.

We got takeout during the panini, so a while ago. Food was good, ribs were good, sauce wasn’t overly spiced. Chicken was juicy. Didn’t blow my mind, but was good.

The service and food is great. We have been long time customers, going back many years to when there was a "sister Barney's" in Antioch. The ribs are the same, original brown sauce is still available and delicious. I usually get the chef salad with BBQ turkey and ham on it. My wife gets the BBQ combo -- chicken and ribs, and will share a rib or two with me. Totally delicious and worth the trip over!

Very nice people inside but was a little disappointed the food wasn't as good as it used to be the bread was a little stale the fry machine did not work so settled for a loaded baked potato instead it was not fully cooked but the meat was delicious

My wife's grandfather built the brick oven and the family has been eating there since then. The 6th generation is about to go for the first time. We now live in Las Vegas and it is one of the staples on our trips. We bring and empty ice chest just for some take home for later.

Barney's is great. My husband and I shared their generous chef's salad and a BBQ ham sandwich. It was a perfect meal for this evening!

I was unimpressed with the meal that I got. I got the New York steak. Came with my choice of side, super salad, and bread. The salad was largely just lettuce with some radishes and beets only. The bread that was served with my meal was a hamburger bun. The steak was acceptable.
