An extraordinary palace, everything on the inside, the spaces that are organized around the gardens, the decorations, the frescoes, the marbles, the collones, everything was magnificent

The old palace of Ahmed Bey- a must see in Constantine. Entrance fee: 200 Da/adult. Two floors to visit. Make sure to arrive no later than 3 pm, at 4 we were gently asked to leave. Also, the door looked closed but it wasn’t, don’t hesitate to push the door or knock hard. The restoration is still ongoing in certain rooms, they are doing a great job- there are tiles, wood paitings, wall paintings… Some rooms are open to the public and display furniture and some interesting pieces (Ahmed Bey’s coins after Algiers was taken, his daughter’s room…), some are only visible through the window. The garden is very nice and the most unique thing was the wall paintings showing ships at sea or in ports- first time I see such paintings in an Arab palace! While we were there there was a local artists’ exhibition, which was cool.

Beautiful! Very interesting to see the rooms vividly decorated, the hall-rooms, all the colors, the mosaics, the furniture, the wax characters, the wedding dresses and many other details. Recommended!

One of the most important monuments in Constantine. The most remarkable thing is the calmness of the place, it is situated in the middle of the old city and it is surrounded by markets, but you hear absolutely nothing inside, you totally zone out!

One of the most important places to visit in Constantine as it gives a glimpse into life there before French occupation. The images of Islamic cities on the walls gives a glimpse of history at the time

One of the most important landmarks of Constantine, from the Ottoman ruling era of North Algeria. The access was free, but as we got at around mid-day the site was closed for an hour for lunch brake. If planning to visit this marvelous historic building, you need to bear in mind that: You'll spend half the day through endless traffic, and you'll need the luck of an Irish to secure a parking spot in the vicinity of the palace. Thers an old pedestrian street market (Souk) and a mosque with a beautiful dome in the area.
