😠 Ignore the cute photos. The trip starts on a dirt road that is well groomed. I drove back in a SUV that didn't have 4x4. The road only gets worse as you go. Ignore the cute photos. The trip starts on a dirt road that is well groomed. I drove back in a SUV that didn't have 4x4. The road only gets worse as you go. Depending on when the road was last restored or recently washed away by rain can be a determining factor. I drove for 1.5 hours and still didn't make it to the destination. I was probably close but it was getting late and didn't want to return in the dark. Unless you go on a dirt bike or 4x4 lifted truck or SUV, this isn't worth possibly getting stuck in the middle of nowhere.

JUST GETTING HERE IS A CRAZY ADVENTURE. A magical and important place as it carries the legacy of our ancestors, the taino people. The road is a mess but the views, calmness and privacy of the place it make so worth it. A must for all historias, archeologist and culture lovers.

Beautiful to see our history! Makes you wonder all the standard questions: How? Why? When... With so much space to think you can ponder for hours.

It's quite a long Distance from Constanza even though I could hitch a ride for most of my way. Make sure to have an offline Map with you as there isn't any mobile net there. You can always ask for the way but there aren't too many people around. The piedra itself is well kept, there even is a guide to show you around.
