Took my dog here and that was a big mistake. They told me it was gonna cost $1,200 and I said ok because my dog is my kid and I love him dearly and when I went to pick him up it changed to $3000 and they don’t know what’s wrong with my dog. The dr talked real fast leaving me confused on what she said and I felt like it was all about money and they couldn’t care less about helping my dog. I will NEVER go back and I will never recommend this place to no one. As of today my dog is still dying and I don’t know why and I spent all my money with these people so please take your dog to some place that cares and not greedy.

Today I said goodbye to my baby. My cat tested positive for FIV and FELV after a year of suffering. She developed a horrible infection on her eye that CPCAS was considering removing but tested for feline leukemia because of her symptoms. I went to Copeland 3 times and not a single time did they suggest a leukemia test even though she showed the symptoms (conjunctivitis, blindness, respiratory distress, weight loss) and even though a diagnosis would likely not have changed the outcome, had she been tested we could have helped manage her symptoms better or known to put her down sooner. Today she was put to sleep after almost a year of suffering. When we brought her in to Copeland she was just diagnosed with a URI and conjunctivitis and when we asked what the chances were of her losing her vision Dr. Gibson told us they were “near zero” and she should “recover within 10 days of eyedrops and antibiotics”. When she lost her vision (the second time we came in), even though we had a scheduled appointment he was in surgery and would not see us and we were still charged for a nurse saying she didn’t know what was wrong. The third time we came to actually see HIM for the blindness he was very dismissive and said she could have hypertension that’s causing her eyes to swell but he didn’t know because the machine wasn’t working and ordered nearly $400 worth of blood tests (not for FIV and FELV) and suggested we see a feline ophthalmologist. The staff at CPCAS were shocked that a FELV test wasn’t ordered upon first inspection. If she had gotten a diagnosis sooner, she would have been saved months of suffering. Dr. Gibson deserves to lose his license. I will never forgive Copeland for being complicit in my baby’s suffering.

One star is too many. If you want your pet to die alone and scared while in terrible pain, Copeland’s is your place. My sister came to check on her sweet pup after leaving him overnight at Copeland’s, only to find him dead. He was stiff, cold, and covered in dried vomit. He had been dead for some time, but the staff lied and said he had suddenly crashed and died right before my sister arrived at their office. Bodies don’t stiffen and vomit doesn’t dry in a few minutes. Then they had to nerve to send her a $700 bill for his overnight “care.” If you care for your pets at all, you will not take them to Copeland’s. They’d be better off dying at home surrounded by the people they love.

Never ever have we had a negative experience here. DESTINY AND DR. BAKER ARE AMAZING! We have 5 dogs and have been seen for everything from routine care to emergencies. The care they put into each of our visits is top notch. All of the other staff (don't know everyone's name) is super awesome too. Not your cheapest place to go, but the BEST care in town. 100% recommend. ❤

Took our little Jack Russell, Lucy, to Copeland for a quick check of her pale gums . Our Vet Dr Kelsey Wright was not available but her Technician Allison was. She took care of Lucy as if she was her own dog. I could tell Lucy was very comfortable with her. She stopped shaking immediately. Allison checked Lucy out and was able to put our mind at ease once again. Allison is a great Technician, very knowledgeable, answered all my questions. Thank you Allison for all your kindness.

Staff and doctors are amazing. My little puppy broke her leg and they were so fast to get her in and taken care of. Dr Baker is an amazing surgeon and him and the whole staff are so caring. He kept us informed the entire time our baby was with them and he personally called to check on her several times after she came home just to make sure was doing ok. I would highly recommend them!!

Not a fan! The people were alright but I don’t think they’re as knowledgeable as they should be. Took my dog in who hadn’t eaten or pooped for 4 days and they did 2 tests and some X-rays and acted as if he was just nauseous. Sent us home saying he would start feeling better. Took him to flatt’s a few days later and he had jaundice so bad they recommended putting him down. Won’t ever bring another animal here.

Can't recommend them enough. Took our cat to them and sadly wound up having to put him down that night. Everyone was extremely professional and consoling through the entire process and was very friendly. When we went to pick up the ashes the bag had some very thoughtful things inside including a card signed by then entire office offering condolences. Never seen a more frie6and professional staff

While vacationing in Cookeville, my chihuahua became very ill late one Friday night. Copeland Vet was recommended by two family friends. I called the vet's office, and the tech asked some questions to determine if it was a true emergency, thus saving me the emergency vet fee. The next morning I took my Chi in and after a couple of tests (Xray, bloodwork, and kidney panel) Dr. Wright determined my dog had Pancretitus and prescribed the necessary medicine. Honestly, this was the best vet visit ever, and believe me I've had numerous visits to other vets with my Chi over the years. Dr. Wright showed me the test results and also showed me the X-rays and explained exactly what the issues were. I don't believe I've ever had a vet, or a medical doctor for that matter, take the time for "show and tell" that Dr. Wright did. I also appreciate the tech staff who kept me informed during the procedures as well as the office staff who were very professional throughout our visit.

New review 6/3/2023 Brought Lucy , our almost 14 year old Jack Russell, to see the Vet due to a nod on her tail as well as an overall check up before a planned road-trip. Our Vet , Dr Kelsey Wright, was not available so we saw Dr Oliver instead. Dr Oliver is also a passionate and caring Veterinarian that put my mind at ease and answered patiently all my ‚worry wart‘ questions. She is very knowledgeable and loving, Lucy felt totally at ease with her. Dr Oliver and Dr Wright are amazing Veterinarians, very knowledgeable, easy approachable and caring Doctors. Lucy loves them and she knows : she is the patient . Thank you Doctor Oliver and Doctor Wright for your passionate care! ♦️♦️♦️ Have been bringing our Jack Russell, Lucy, to Copeland ever since we moved here to Cookeville 6 years ago. Our Vet Dr Barker moved away and we saw several other Vets at the Clinic . Our experience with Copeland has been always good . The front end staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The Techs are all very nice and knowledgeable. As most people we have a favorite Vet . Dr Kelsey Wright is an exceptionally skilled and knowledgeable Veterinarian with awesome bedside manners. She loves the animals she cares for and never gets annoyed with any of the multiple stupid questions we ask as overly worried doggy parents . She takes the time to explain her findings and test results and always puts our mind at ease. She is a fantastic doctor and Lucy loves her dearly. Thank you Dr Wright for all you do for your furry patients !

Walked in with my anxious dog who instantly liked the staff which was not normal. Got seen quickly left feeling comfortable and good about the visit. Even got a check in call a few days later to check on him. 100% would go back

After my boyfriend and I relocated to Clarkrange from Cookeville, we spoke about finding a cheaper vet who was closer to home for our 9 cats. Our cat Loki started peeing blood. After a couple of months and me already clearing this up a couple of times, I called a vet that was recommended by a coworker. They told me that the doctor was not in that day and would not be in until Monday of the following week and to bring a urine sample. I did as they asked and could not get much of a sample from him, but brought what I could muster that morning. When I arrived, they pushed me and Loki off to the side and took care of all their regulars first. When they finally got around to me, they took the sample and my paperwork that they had me fill out and told me that the sample may not be enough and that I needed to go out to my car and wait and they will be with me in about 2 hours and if the sample wasn't enough, I would have to go back home and come back when I had more. I went out to my car with Loki and called Copeland. They told me to bring Loki in immediately. Even though it took me an hour to get there from where I was at, they had a room waiting for him. Turned out our baby had stones in his bladder and needed emergency surgery and a strict diet. Loki is doing well now and happy that he is better. Copeland may be a little on the expensive side, but after this experience, we will never try another vet again. Trust me, they are worth the money.

Took my cat in for emergency surgery because I had no other options at the time. The doctor was nice not great and staff was kind but not flexible in anyway. While there he got HORRIBLE flees and brought them back home with him. The rooms are dirty and smell awful the establishment is unorganized as a vet but better as an emergency hospital. I will not be taking my pets back and am extremely upset with the services and pricing of this office.

These guys are awesome! They are actually an animal hospital, but Dixie comes here for everything! We had her here Monday because her ear was hurting and had been over the weekend. We did have a 3 hour wait, but it was well worth it. After all, it's a hospital, we should expect a little wait. Dr. Baker (who is amazing!) did the culture test on her ears (turns out she had a yeast infection in both ears!) and gave her antibiotics. The total bill was only $206 (medicine included), and our girl is already feeling better . Money well spent, I'd say. My many thanks to everyone at Copeland's veterinary hospital! You guys are the best! I completely understand that people have bad experiences everywhere occasionally. Nobody is perfect and we all make mistakes. When I was there Monday, I had the heart melting experience of watching Dr. Baker escort an older lady to her car, by letting her hold onto his arm. He then helped her into her vehicle. This is something I've never seen, especially since they were super busy, and it was the doctor himself who helped this lady. You just don't see stuff like this anymore. Thank you guys, for being friends, as well as professionals.

Very friendly staff and treated my buddy quickly and he was better in just a couple of days! They're just a little expensive cost us over $500 for some tests, x-rays and meds and still not sure what was wrong with my buddy. Other than the cost of things there I'm very pleased with how they handled everything and explained what they were doing. Just not the cost

Thank you so much for providing emergency/after-hours services to pet owners in Cookeville. I am not an established client at this clinic, but was able to bring my dog in at midnight to be seen. Even though it would not change the result, the tech was kind enough to do xrays to confirm what I already knew, which helped me to move forward with that impossible decision. Thank you for being there for our community. You are appreciated.

My friend took her cat here last week and after being charged $459 was told there was nothing wrong. This morning she took him to another local vet to find out he had lung cancer and needed to be put down. This cost several More hundred dollars. Copeland is horrible for charging that kind of money and not even having an accurate diagnosis. I will never go there again nor will I recommend them ever again!

Honestly Dr Baker is fantastic. If you have exotic pets like guinea pigs are hedgehogs he's extremely knowledgeable and nice. He explaines things easily. And he never does unnecessary test. I love this but I've been going to them for years. There has been a pretty long wait but they're such a good veterinarian clinic. It's worth the wait. Just be patient it's worth every star.

My dog was seen there just at 3 months ago. She is old and has what is suspected to be a disc problem. Instead of providing a refill to allow my dog to be comfortable, they want me to come in for the exact same thing instead of doing what is clearly needed for this dog by providing palliative care via a refill . Not cool...

I brought my dog, Nikki, in to the emergency clinic after a vicious dog attack. Dr. Baker and team took excellent care of her and she is on the road to recovery. I would highly recommend the team at Copeland Veterinary Hospital!

My little cat Louie had a large piece of barbwire stuck in his stomach. I frantically called several vets but No one could get him in. When I called Copelands they said bring him right away. They told me all the details and kept him overnight. I picked him up the next day. They sent medicine home with him and even called to check on him a few days later. They saved my Louie's life. Thank you Copelands. Now Louie is healthy happy and living his best life! Thank you so much!

Dr. Baker is always so sweet to me and my boys. He's helped me through losing 3 of them, and even got choked up at having to give me that dreadful news. Kristen, the office manager has also been good to us. Highly recommend since they're not just a vet office, they're an animal hospital with full services and vets and techs on call during off hours. Also, no appointments are necessary, but that doesn't insure that you'll always see the same vet.

We unfortunately had the great pleasure of working with the Copeland staff when our puppy had a heat stroke. The staff took such great care of him in his last moments and tried everything they could. We are beyond grateful for the compassion shared by all of the staff. Today we picked up our baby's ashes to bring him home to his final resting place and we were beyond blown away. The effort and thoughtfulness that went into his cremation package was beyond words. We can't thank Copelands enough for all they have done.

Went for one shot each dog, though when signed in no one in waiting area, they gave others rooms who came I. after us-while we waited in car then wanted to do med outside since squirt in mouth med. Aggressive dog so that type dog doesn’t do well outside around others when you come at it with med in mouth. Common sense lacking. I tell that dog does better in a room, vet tech argues won’t listen so we try outside and I have to try and give med myself not knowing if dog got all the med. Then forgot one dog’s other shot needed so had to go back- said I had to have a vet check- though dog healthy and only needed the 20 dollar shot. Made us get a vet check before getting shot so bill 87 dollars instead of twenty. That is twice I have come out of there with large bills for no reason. Won’t be back except for an emergency. Dog already had a complete Vet exam end of July just two months ago. So did not need another vet exam which all vet did was listen heart 1min- to get that vaccine. I did not have to pay 65 extra dollars for an exam just to get that one yearly shot.
