I think this is my new favorite Thai spot in the area. The main reason is the spice level. I called and ordered Penang Curry and Pineapple Curry and asked for just a spice level 3 (since I was sharing with my family), the girl on the phone was trying to talk me out of it. She said they are the hottest spice level in town. I never believe when someone says those kinds things, but let me tell you, she wasn’t lying. The food was spicy and delicious. Bland is not a word I would ever describe Lay Thai. We also got the veggie spring rolls and the fried tofu. All delicious. I want to try their level 5 spice. I bet it’s incredible. Great selection of vegetarian food as well. All the entrees are able to be made with tofu instead of meat. If you like spice, this place is for you!

I’ve been seeing this restaurant on my local Filipino Facebook page and when I was headed towards Gatlinburg I knew I had to try it when I passed Cookeville. I was not disappointed. The pictures online lived up to the hype. Sisig: This is for real sisig. It’s made from I think pig’s ear. It’s seasoned quite nicely. It has a smoky taste that brings you back to the streets of Manila drinking beer with your buddies. Menudo: perfect tomato-y disk with pork pieces, bay leaves, carrots, and red pepper Sweet and sour tilapia: this one was a special for the weekend. I’d follow their Facebook page for their weekend specials. I was so bummed they aren’t closer to Nashville but this Christmas season they offered a pickup service. They were nice enough to deliver to my house for $10 because I was stuck in a meeting. The food is fantastic and authentic. If you’re in Cookeville, your one lucky duck.

Overall the food had bold flavors unlike the bland flavor of many Filipino places. The pork and chicken barbecue were tender and tasty. Unfortunately the Bicol express was lacking coconut milk or cream and there was something not quite right with the meat in this dish. Overall we did enjoy the meal and will return the next time we travel through the area.

This was my first time to Fil-Thai. It will NOT be my last! I decided on getting the lunch Pineapple Curry with Chicken & Pork. The only complaint would be there needs to be more meat & a bigger dish to put it in. It was sooo good! The noodles and veggies helped cool the mouth from the curry. I did get it at one star. So if you like a lot of heat, you can do that. Waitress also brought out chili paste, Thai Chili Flakes and Soy Sauce for me to added if needed. It didn’t need anything added! I dumped all my rice in the curry! Was very good! My waitress also brought me small samples of the Thai Coffee and Thai Tea to sample. They were both good. I didn’t get them because they normally add milk with them. I can’t have milk. The base mixture was strong and good, just sweet. With milk and ice they would be very good. Deceived to also try their Crispy Chicken! Very good. I like a bit more sauce, but I’m a saucy guy. I did add some Thai Chili Flakes to it. Very good! Will defiantly be coming back!!! In reply to owners response: NOT complaining, just my opinion. I do understand it was lunch size! It all was very good! I will be returning! Thank you!

My first visit and I wasn't disappointed. We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door. He suggested items from the menu. I decided on the Drunken Noodles and deep fried spring rolls. Delicious!! Will definitely come back and try other items.

The food was excellent and authentic and the service was friendly. And so good! You gotta try this place. Don't let the appearance of the building sway you. It's very clean and oh so good! I wish I lived near this place... unfortunately I was an OTR truck driver the last time I ate here.

This was my second time coming to Fil Thai and it did not disappoint. The staff is very friendly and provides outstanding service. The food is always fresh and super delicious!! I got the drunken noodles and my fiancé got the BBQ chicken kabob plate. We also got the crab rangoons with the ginger soy sauce. I highly recommend going to this restaurant!!

Awesome food. Fast service. Bathrooms clean. Much better than the My Thai at 4.8. This restaurant actually has seating and a waitress, who is very cute and polite. Tip from me.

First time coming here. Service was great, food was great, atmosphere was great! I ordered the two kabob combo. The chicken was on point! It was some of the best chicken I've ever eaten! It was seasoned to perfection and super juicy! The lumpia was crunchy and flavorful! The veggies were grilled nicely, and the pancit was the perfect side for all of it. Everyone that worked there was so nice and helpful! We will definitely be back!

Absolutely loved this place and the ladies working there are amazing. We got the platter that has a little bit of everything. It was $75 there was 3 of us and we couldn’t finish it. Cute little place and super friendly staff

I enjoyed some BBQ kabobs and crab Rangoon here. As far as the atmosphere it would have been fine but the front door was propped open when a chair on a windy mid fifties day and it was cold.

Service from the two young ladies was excellent. They make a good team. My Red Curry was missing the zucchini, and missing the Thai Basil (see menu). I had maybe 2-3 ounces of chicken meat for the dinner portion. My companion had the Crispy Chicken that tasted as if it was deep fried twice. Or, their deep fry oil needs to be changed.

This is one of those great finds that you thank google maps for! Located on a corner with access from one side, it’s worth circling the block to get to if you have to. Friendly, conscientious, and quick service. Delicious fresh food with generous portions. The tom yum was perfect. Wish we lived closer so I could try everything! The sampler looks amazing but was too much food for us at the time.

Every time I come in, everyone is super nice and the food is always delicious! 10/10 the price is great for how much food you get. I usually have leftovers and it’s still good later on. Love this place and it’s one of my first choices when I decide to go to eat. Love it!!

Brought my mother here who was visiting from out of town. We ordered (one entree, two appetizers) and waited. Waitress never came back to check on us. There were 2 tables finishing eating and left within minutes of us ordering. They were NOT BUSY. We waited.....and waited.....and waited. 4 other tables were seated within this 30 minute time frame. One table served. Two table served. Three table served. When table three, again seated AFTER we arrived AND ORDERED were served food as we were still waiting for ours, we got up and walked out. I looked at the guy who was bringing out the food and told him we had been waiting 30 minutes. Nothing. Not an apology. Not a "we forgot about you". NOTHING. Although him and the waitress continued to walk past our table to obviously see we had NO FOOD, they continued to ignore us. Terrible service. Y'all missed out on a huge tip and future business. We will never be back. I work in real estate. I will tell everyone I meet asking where to eat to NEVER go here. Awful. Please do everyone a favor and close your doors until you can learn real customer service.

Finally made it there, wish it hadn't taken us so long. Got the crab rangoons, pork lumpia, pancit, and panang curry. Obviously very generous portions on the entrées, the pancit has a very subtle flavor and was a nice accompaniment to the curry. We got spice level 1 because we're weaklings and it was a good slight tingle. I've never had rangoons as good as these, they barely survived to get a picture. The lumpia are also phenomenal. They both come with fresh made sweet and sour dip which is very enjoyable but they're so great on their own too. We have enough for another delicious meal, and I can't wait to try more of their offerings

We had dinner, i had the pineapple curry with chicken. It was very tasty. My partner had the fried catfish, and it very tasty as well. We had been by the restaurant several times, but neither of us had eaten Phillipino or Thai food. It's definitely good food. The prices are fair and the portions are good. Don't let a half empty parking lot fool you, the bulk of their business is take out. We will definitely be going back. 👍

We did the sampler platter because I was unsure of what to order and it was suggested by our server. It was a little pricey for the amount of food but it was delicious. The Thai tea is tasty and very sweet. We got a flan to go, again very small for the price and it tasted burnt. Next time I will order a single dish and skip dessert.

My first time here and I got jasmine tea (recommended by Jay) chicken potstickers, and the fil-Thai soup. I didn’t get any photos because it was gone too soon. I will be back ASAP! Jay’s cheerful way gave me a smile & I hope he gets his worth in tips! 🤩

Great lunch buffet with the hubby. Everything was very tasty. Great variety of dishes. Definitely reccomend for casual family meal or take away meal! They've also done a great job with new decorations and giving the restaurant a more authentic feel! Great job!
