Had my birthday meal at the Kings arms.Cormac served the food to our table and was very polite with a smile. Jodie and the team made a great roast dinner. Apple crumble with happy birthday was made by Lee. Thank you 👌

Amazing Vegan Food! Found this little gem by chance and wow we were so impressed. You hope it's going to be good when they have a seperate vegan menu and we are not let down. Service was very friendly and the pub is lovely, can't wait for a random date day in the summer as the garden is fantastic. Onsite carpark too which is a bonus. Highly recommend the treacle and pecan dessert!

We popped in for a family lunch … 5 adults and 2 children… Sunday lunch . Shared board and two lots of bread … roasts , on side , two deserves and three mini deserts … bottle of wine for £25 … £320 ! £60 Roast lamb was nice in terms of the meat , but £20 … for a parsnip ( singular ) a carrot ( singular ) a Yorkshire , three soft potatoes ( work on your roasting guys as this was poor ) and a few peas , for £20 ! Not good value and under seasoned . Not a lot of taste was the general feedback from your group. Service was good and the staff were friendly but this was over priced and shockingly bad value .. ok , it’s Cookham you might say , but at least cool the food well and be generous with the veg ! Probably won’t be back until they get bought by someone else .

Had roast chicken which comes with fries and a side of veg. Chicken was very dry, veg. was very average, but the biggest issue was the fries. They were served in a cup packed with paper, so I emptied them on the plate to find the smallest portion of fries I've ever been served! It was not even a child' portion. Come on Kings Arms, you've got to do better than this! At least serve a main meal that will satisfy an adult to a certain degree. I'm not a big eater, but left feeling hungry and short changed. For the sake of a few pence, serve decent portions.

Just had a great late Sunday lunch at the Kings Arms Cookham with our large family group. Several large groups already in the ante-room we were sharing, but we never felt forgotten about with the attentive service of Courtney. Drink orders were frequent and the variety of lunches ordered all came out together and were enjoyed by everyone. My roast beef and Yorkshire pudding were perfectly cooked. Thanks to chef Frankie. We’ll be back soon.

Was unfortunately locked into set menu for boxing day & this meant we couldn’t leave. Myself and table of 6 guests WANTES to leave because the food took so long to arrive & when it did arrive (at different times for everyone at the table) it was cold and/or tasted awful. And it’s not okay for customers to ‘feel guilty’ about asking the waiter ing staff for the food or sauces they have ordered. Definitely will not be going back and will never recommend it.

Extremely poor service, ordered a drink had to go and get it myself. Had steak, had to go and ask for a steak knife. Just waiting ages for everything. It was very quiet, so no excuses. Would've been 1 star. But the food was good

Car park to rear is useful if not very generous in the space between rows. Nice mix of old building with modern decor twists. Lots of small spaces which allow for groups to feel like they have their own space in what is a large busy inn. Beer was well kept - neck oil IPA is a firm favourite! Those drinking wine very happy with the red they chose. The two not drinking enjoyed the tea and coffee they ordered to help them warm up on what was a very cold night. Food delicious, with everyone in the group happy with their food. Most of us felt we could happily have ordered almost anything in the menu. Staff attentive without being smothering. Gents was out of order and only a single accessible toilet available. Otherwise, brilliant. I will definitely be going back!

Your restaurant staff are brilliant, friendly and efficient. Although most in our party enjoyed most of their meal, one theme was unanimous- not hot, quite cool or cold veg. All plates were cold causing some of the above. My festive burger was totally overrated. However, the ambience and our long term opinion of The Kings Arms overrode all disappointments.

The service was pretty good as far as pubs go, but the food was where this place really shine, the chef that was in was called Lee (asked to meet him after the meal) and when I tell you this man made the best food I had while I was down in England would be an understatement, he did everything right. Its so refreshing to classic pub food like that in this day and age. Would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area

The meal I devoured by chef Bilal was nothing short of excellence in endulgance, the meal felt homely and dare say so myself cooked just how my own mother would. The atmosphere felt very friendly and the staff where sheer in politeness. I welcome anyone to come visit and share this wonderful experience amongst yourselves. Thank you very much kings arms will be back to visit.

We went as a group of fourteen for a team dinner whilst in the village for an event. We have been before but only for drinks and this time we had a table for dinner. We started with drinks in the bar which were served quickly and with good customer service. After being seated our food order was taken promptly. The food came out shortly after and it was hot and fresh. I had the pizza which was really nice with a side of crispy onion rings. They were so crispy and stayed this way for over half an hour. A lot of people went for the Dirty Burger with raving reviews. The atmosphere is very cozy with real fires to keep warm. There are various rooms so suitable for small or large groups. The customer service is amazing. I will visit again when back in the area.

Had Fish and chips before a walk from cookham to marlow. Good portion size, and price was reasonable vs others in the area. No service charge was added, and I liked when ordering tap water it came with lemon in a glass, so didn’t feel too cheap!

Unfortunately for the money we paid for Christmas dinner it was somewhat disappointing. Overcooked vegetables (they weren’t green anymore!), roast potatoes weren’t crispy, very thin gravy and it was clear that everything had been plated up in advance before service as it wasn’t hot: The scallop starter had been left under the heatlamps on the pass too long and had gone a dark brown colour without any sauce left, and the soup was also tepid. If you are going to charge over £100 for a Christmas lunch the quality of the food needs to be greatly improved. I couldn’t fault the service on the other hand, everyone was really friendly and attentive. Just a shame the food didn’t meet expectations for the price. It wasn’t even up to roast dinner standard and this was supposed to be a special occasion!

I was in Cookham for the first time in 30 years for my father's memorial service. In the 80s and 90s The Kings Arms was our family's favourite restaurant and we had lunch there most weekends. In those days it was a Beefeater. I was very impressed by the sympathetic, beautiful interior decor. I was particularly amused to find the Ladies' lavatories in exactly the same place! They were significant to me for two reasons: first because they were the first toilets I had to be brave enough to go to on my own as a five year old dining with my newly divorced Father and brother (so unable to use the Gentlemen's lavatories) and second because I used to hide in them when my Father gave the staff feedback on how they could improve (frequently highlighting the fierce competition between Beefeater and Berni in those days). It was the perfect venue for my cousin's family and my family to relax after the service. We were very grateful to be able to eat a cooked meal at 3:30 before a long drive back to Devon. The menu was broad enough to cater for all ages in our party (of 8). The food was delicious. The staff were delightful. If were lived closer we would be back regularly. Thank you so much.

My wife and I each had a burger. It seemed to be cooked from a frozen patty and arrived warm but not hot. The atmosphere is very nice and I think it’s be a great place for a drink but avoid the overpriced food. Especially as there are so many better options on the same street.

Returned this afternoon from what was supposed to be a celebration family lunch. Poor service. Food came with no cutlery, plates or napkins. Poor food. The steak sandwich was served with 3 small pieces of meat and some wilted cress. Dull and overpriced. A simple to prepare main course advertised as flatbread with humous and Greek style salad with roasted chickpeas was returned to the kitchen as half of the ingredients listed on the menu were missing. After returning it for a second time and waiting for 'half an hour' it was re-served with even less ingredients than before - a flatbread with a 'very' thin scraping of humous, some chickpeas and a few slices of avocado! We gave up and returned it without reordering! Left hungry with no apology from the staff, no discount from our bill and no food! Very disappointing!

Love the food, love the drinks. Always friendly staff. Great place for a catch up with friends, family get togethers, celebration meals, any excuse to visit!! Brilliant place, my favourite in the village 🙂👍

Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we stepped through the door. Connor was exceptionally helpful and made sure that we were well looked after. If you are ever in Cookham, would strongly recommend that you stop by for a drink in the garden at least.

Had Sunday roast beef was great( they had no brown sauce and tge vinegar tasting ketchup was nasty) only 3 mini roast potatoes and cabbage. I think there may have been a piece of carrot. The brie starter...2 bits (popcorn size), no chutney and a big pile of kale £6.50 overpriced by any standard. Onion rings were light and crispy, very good.

Went to lunch with a friend on Friday, had a fantastic seabass while my friend had delicious fish cakes. Service was impeccable, lovely atmosphere, Cormac served us, Frankie, George and Cristian did fabulous food, our drinka were made by Andreas who was attentive and quick with the drinks. The manager on shift was Rob and he was kind and energetic

We were part of a large group (over 20, on a Saturday night), so things were a little busy. Everyone had been asked to make their choices from the menu a couple of weeks in advance. So it was a little surprising that we waited an hour before the starters were brought out. And more so that some of the mains/sides were either wrong or forgotten. To spice things up a bit, there were a couple of fights in the gents, apparently something to do with "Rock The Moor", which had been cancelled. All in all, this was a matter of bad timing. I have to credit the waiting staff for trying their best in difficult circumstances, and the manager for offering to take 20% off the bill without being asked, but overall it was a disappointing experience. Had the service been less than friendly and professional, this would have been a 2 or 1 star rating.

In a nice location in Cookham. Has several dining rooms inside and a lovely garden with seating outside. Good service from the waiting staff and the food was tasty. I had the pork belly which came with a good selection of veg plus Yorkshire pud and crackling. Lovely gravy. Option of a mini dessert with tea or coffees. Asked for tap water which didn't come but I didn't really miss it. Also no option for ice cream or custard with mini dessert. Prices reasonable for Cookham

Super nice pub with lots of cozy areas to tuck yourself away in. Really lovely service, they were understanding about our noisy toddler and provided crayons and paper to keep him occupied. Food was good, would have liked a bit more spice on the salt and Szechuan pepper squid but it was beautifully cooked. My husband loved his pizza and my veg curry was super tasty.

A gem of a village pub, would rate more than five stars! Exceptional service from the young waiters, very accommodating and astute, expecially Becky who asked how we would like our food cooked, and asked if we had any alergys, I was very impressed, sat in the lovely sunny beer garden, social distancing was adhered to, food was on par to a mitchelin star status, perfect presentation, the flavours and tectures blended in exceptionally well, divine, obviously we're be back, highly recommend

Pretty disappointing. We came for a special occasion lunch on a weekday and left very underwhelmed. While the plating of the food was pretty, unfortunately that's where it ended. The lunch salads sounded great on the menu but essentially what appeared on my plate was a pile of raw vegetables with some peashoots and duck dumped on top. No attempt to dress anything except the duck. The place is beautifully decorated and would have a nice atmosphere at the weekend but is let down by the halfhearted attempts by the kitchen. We will not be returning.

Me and my friend had the Lamb roast and the beef duo. The meat itself was good, the veg was cooked perfectly, just not very big portions. The potatoes were under cooked which for me makes the rosst so a little disappointed. Felt it wasn't very good value for money. I couldn't fault the staff in any way at all. Great service.

Booked a table for 3 for Sunday roast on 6th of feb. Booking was for 3pm and we got there at 3:10pm. We requested a table by the fireplace and we didn’t get it. No problem. Anyways ordered the roast. Brie to share for starters which took 45 minutes. Hour and 25 mins on, still no mains. We then got moved from our table because there was a table of 9 reservation. We got told there’s a table turnover policy but we wouldn’t be there if we had got our food? We then got reminded we were late lol. Anyways food showed up cold after all that wait which ofcourse we sent back. They didnt charge us for food. Charged us for drinks and no apology. Lost a loyal customer. It was embarrassing. Kelly the manager was nowhere to be seen after she moved our table.

Came for Father’s Day lunch, and they had a lovely menu for the day that was a great price at 3 courses for £24.85. The food was really delicious, and the staff were very friendly. The service was particularly slow, even with the excuse of a busy restaurant/holiday, and the facilities were somewhat clean. Adequate options for vegan and gluten free diets, and always a bonus that they are dog friendly, with a lovely garden.

Booking a table was quick and easy with the on-line booking system. The interior was pleasant. It was good that the dining area was away from the bar. I expected to see a wider range of real ales "on". Why not have one or two from local breweries? Our waitress was superb. She was very helpful (a request to exclude a particulart ingredient from one meal was no problem) and checked back to ensure everything was OK. The good was very well presented on the plates and tasted good. Everyone was pleased there was a good range of items to choose from on the menu. One of my passengers has a disability, so it was pleasing to find "Blue badge" parking spaces in the car park very close to the side entrance (which had a ramp).

lovely pub with lots of different areas for both eating and drinking. Some are more open than others which makes it appropriate for every occasion. Our book club met in the snug which was ideal for our purposes. The drinks menu was varied and catered for all tastes. The staff were lovely and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Eaten here twice now, ate the first time and it was so good I came back for more! The chefs Jodie and Frankie make delicious food, which is served by the friendliest bar staff, Will and Aaron! Aaron couldn’t do enough for us and gave us lovely friendly chats and banter. It kind of reminded me what pubs used to be like, before they all became massive ‘chain’s’, where you could chat to the barman and he knew your name! If your looking for a lovely country pub, with great food and a warm welcome, look no further! 5 stars all the way guys!

The make over is superb! The various rooms have been beautifully decorated and the whole place is very welcoming. Of course the staff are all brilliant! We visit every Thursday and Kath, Tom and the team look after us brilliantly. We could not want for a better pub.
