Absolutely incredible food! If you are wanting a nice place to dine with exceptional food, this is your place! Fresh made food that will leave you feeling so satisfied. I highly reccomend the bbq menu and Karissa burger. ALSO hands down some of the best homemade desserts you could find!

Very rustic german food, that doesn't shy away from the heartier meal options. There are also freshly made bread and deserts. They're german chocolate cake is an excellent example. The restaurant also has a lot of rich history, which the staff is well-versed.

Definitely busy, especially on a Monday when lots of other restaurants around are closed. Their menu really nickels and dimes; one refill only on soda, 3.5% added fee for credit card purchases, split plate fee and split check limits. Definitely not a great first impression on read. Food was delicious, however. Great potatoes, great carrots, great beef. The sauerkraut was a little bland compared to others I have ate, not as sharp and pickly as it could be.

One of my favorite places to hang out in Coos Bay! We've visited a few times since moving here and we always leave impressed, happy, and full! Awesome beer selection, beautifully cozy atmosphere, and delicious food at a reasonable price. You have to get dessert! 🍻

German themed design and menu. Service was spot on while I was there during lunch hour on a Tuesday. Price was a little steeper than my normal, but other restaurants downtown were closed. Ordered a burger and was pleasantly surprised with what I received. I only ate half, the rest was for dinner, so this justified the price for me. It was the first time I could only eat a burger using knife and fork, just too much to even attempt biting into. Custom roll, well seasoned patty and even a perfectly cooked steak slice on top! Tasted great and filling. I regret not being able to try dessert. Multiple custom cakes were displayed in a glass case.

We stopped here about 15 years ago while passing through Coos Bay. Great food! We just moved here, and decided to check it out again. Still amazing. If you like German food, you shouldn't even be reading this, just go. 😁

I gave a 5 star rating & lengthy review, over a year ago, but it disappeared. My review was extremely thorough, very descriptive & had taken a lot of thought. I will say again, this place is absolutely the bomb & if I could, I would drive down, to eat here every week, from Eugene. The first time, it was discovered as we were searching for breakfast & this time, we were on a mission, to eat dinner here. It was fantastic both times & one of these days, we just need to come, not get full & try a bunch of desserts! The first visit for breakfast, I had the Pecan Smoked Bacon Eggs Benedict & my dining partner had the All Meat Skillet. This visit for dinner, I had the Sauerbraten & my dining partner, had the Oktoberfest. I simply adore this restaurant & I hope everyone gives it a try! The photos, just don't give the flavors, any justice.

Coffee came with paper inside. Lol 1) big portions and heavy taste. 2) suggestion: call 1st to make reservations 1st. The waffle taste like a dessert. Yummy:)

Went there for some brunch today. Felt like I was not in Coos Bay, but in Germany. I got the over 21 Baconator French Toast. It was really good! The taste took me back to when I was at Disney World. Something to point out that is note worthy is that they reward you for paying in cash! Today, we were blessed with a slice of cake for paying in cash. If you don't pay in cash, then they charge you the credit card processing fee of 3.5%. But overall, I really enjoyed this place! They close after 1:30 pm and then open back up at 4 pm. They also have gluten free options as well.

Bavarian Perfection in Coos Bay! The owner is extremely nice and puts his heart and soul into this restaurant. With German, BBQ, and seafood options, there is something for everyone. The German dishes are incredible, the homemade bread and cakes make the whole experience even better.

We were the last table of the night (9/22/2023). Everything about this place was great. The server had a smile and was attentive. The host was adorably bubbly. The food from the bread to appetizer, and main dish were all AMAZING. I will eat there again.

Went to the Blue Heron as recommended by our hotel. Massive portions of hearty, tasty food. Wonderful service too! 10 shrimps in the Shrimp Scampi which was too many! Also came with fresh warm bread. Wine was a little pricey.

It's weird to find an authentic Bavarian inspired restaurant in a coastal town. I'm glad we found it. The decor is very different. Booths, tables, and a full bar The food, while not totally German, is close. Very much worth a visit.

Holy cow, we had an amazing brunch here! The banana foster French toast was to die for. I'd recommend ordering that as a side for the table to share. It's a lot for one person, but a must have!

Excellent food and refreshing comfort in the midst of (of course, amazing) seafood. After a cool day, sitting down to hot tea and Sauerbraten with the most delicious gravy was much welcome. We started with the pulled pork fries which were excellent and a very generous portion though all the appetizers looked as satiating and hearty. We unfortunately did not save room for dessert but the cake case was looking tempting. Great atmosphere and service. Quiet between 4 and 5 for an early dinner.

Excellent service, food, drinks and ambiance. In the end, they even gave me a lush free dessert because I paid cash. I like that the restaurant is not too big or noisy, and families with children go there as well. Finally, the decoration is picturesque and you feel cozy!

I'm only giving three stars , since we given the breakfast and lunch menu . We didn't have many options for dinner . We were told we had the wrong menu and didn't bring us a dinner menu . We ordered steamed clams . We pointed out it would have nice to have a dinner menu since it had more dinner items . The waitress was determined to cancel our order. We have been traveling all day and were hungry. They close at 9:00 and stop seating people at 8:30 . We got our clams and they looked like they were boiled instead of steamed . They were bland and didn't have any flavor. Some were even gritty . It is the Blue Heron with seafood but it is also Bavarian. I didn't too many Bavarian dishes. I didn't potatoe soup or potato cakes . There weren't any sausage dishes either . They were also out of oysters. If pay with cash you get free desert. They were giving away cake . We were disappointed with this place . The coleslaw had a different flavor which I didn't recognize. The fries and the water was the only items that were decent .

The surf and turf had the smallest piece of steak I have ever seen served in a rest,I had to laugh when it was served, food was decent but pricy.we weren't real hungry so we split the meal, and was informed it would cost $5 to do so.that fee was waved when we ordered a $35 bottle of wine. Total was $100 us. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit.

My family went there last night and it was wonderful. It wasn't the first time we went, but they were short staffed and the owner stepped in to wait tables. Super outgoing, friendly guy. We all enjoyed our food (don't pass up on the carrots and the coleslaw) and ordered dessert. He makes them in-house and the Bavarian Cream was delicious without being too sweet, as so many desserts are these days. Very comfortable place to sit down and have a nice supper.

Highly recommend Sunday brunch. The pecan bacon is amazing. Everything was delicious. If you pay in cash, you get a free dessert. You can also bring your pup on the covered patio. Wonderful restaurant

Friendly staff, comfortable dining area. The Brisket Benedict was really tasty! The Baconator Belgian waffles were good, but I could not come close to finishing them. Nice spot downtown with nearby parking.
