Opened in 2016. Well curated history museum. Easy entry off the 101 and economical prices for admission. If you are interested in local history, early mining, gold prospecting and fishing make sure to stop in. Kid friendly.

Drove by this place so many times. Finally decided to go in, for only $7 entry fee and one of the best places to visit in Coos Bay! Clean, very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Tons of relics and history. Very enlightening and enjoyable!

The museum had several exhibits with many historical items on display and a room with information and examples of myrtlewood carvings. However, the most interesting part of the museum was the sign out front which told of the story of the lynching of Alonzo Tucker who was killed by a white mob in 1902. The museum also goes further into explaining Oregon’s complicated history with race as the only state accepted into the union with racial exclusion laws in their constitution. I briefly lived in Oregon, but I had never heard of many of the things I read about in the museum. I recommend going for the history lesson.

Lovely experience, plenty of local history to be had. Coming from a maritime family I thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the museum. They have some really beautiful wood carvings, some of the best I've ever seen. It's very important to keep our maritime past alive and Coos Bay History Museum is doing their part. Well worth a trip.

EXTREMELY frustrating when you guys do not update your hours on Google. We drove there thinking you were open because Google says your open from 12 to 4 on Sundays. Please remember to update hours as they change.

This is a gem of a museum! The staff is so nice and super helpful, the gift shop is amazing, and the exhibits are amazingly curated. A must see for anyone traveling Hwy 101, and a real treat for museum lovers!

It looked like a cool museum. To get in was 22.00 for a family to get in. Maybe next time we will pay to get in. Has a cute little gift shop. The staff was friendly and welcoming

I went in just to see if I could find some history on the 1910 house I bought and got the best customer service experience. The people I met were so willing and eager to help me out. I work in the health field so I thoroughly enjoyed the healthcare exhibit upstairs. I can't wait to get moved to North Bend so I can explore more history. Thank you.

I loved the breadth of displays, much more than I expected. I especially liked the inclusion of interpretive information for youngsters. As new residents, it is important to learn the history of this place, and the Museum is a wonderful resource.

Wonderful people and great place to visit to learn more about the city and county. Also one of the best place to do research as it is also the 2nd oldest historical society in Oregon with records on site.

Wonderful displays of Coos History. Went with a group of young scouts and there was a lot of reading needed to understand the displays. suggest scheduling a guide. On free Saturdays there are kids activites as well.

Very informative of the local history, including native populations. Wished there was a little bit more interaction.

There are a lot of fun interesting items here about the local history. Stayed a couple of hours! Tickets were $7 per adult, no senior discounts. Well worth the price!
