I underwent two knee replacements at BAH, one in February and the other in April, 2022. The staff, the food, the care are excellent. I actually have fond memories of staying there...haha. I had a wonderful night nurse in February and was able to request her again for my April stay. Amy walked with me in the night when I couldn't sleep, joked with me to keep my spirits up, helped me turn over when I had trouble doing it myself in the middle of the night. Everyone I came in contact with from check in to the lab to the surgical team were simply the best. Thank you for making a scary time so much easier than I had feared!

To first say I know no hospital is sunshine and roses, but man out of every hospital I have been to Iam sad to resign in coosbay with this hospital. I have never truly hated just the staffing at a place let alone it being staff at a hospital. Let me just say the people here make you feel like you don't want to even check in, nurses calling you names or yanking you from beds. I genuinely try everything I can first before I have to head here. From my own personal experiences to those I have taken in each experience is just awful on it own some more than others. From wrong tests to their own "misplaced" files to even assuming one patient for another and without double-checking or even checking the wristband in the first place. I have not a good thing to say about this hospital.

Too painful to express the lack of resources at this hospital. I lost my husband because they don't have the important life-saving resources such as a 24 hr Dialysis Machine, and they told me he wasn't strong enough to make the journey to OHSU. Do your research on what possible resources you may need before settling in this area.

I was in a MVC and taken here. Had to stay in trauma center for hours despite being told I'd get a room "soon", then had to keep calling nurses station telling them I needed to use the bathroom for 3 hours. No one ever came. Was left in severe pain without medication or attention from staff. Doctor Barber was the only good part. Excellent surgeon, overall not happy with the way nurses treat or talk to patients like they are so busy but we see them gossiping with each other right in front of us.

I have no issues with Bay Area Hospital other that 2 - they have difficulty getting my records to our local providers. The second one steams me though. Billing! I have kept my bill paid according to my records. I get charged $45.00 per visit after Medicare pays their part. Seems simple I have had about 8 visits to the Cancer Unit not so many you lose track. So, I get billed - I pay - one time I paid for 2 visits $90.00 ($45.00 each). Bay Area Hospital refunds me $45.00 for over payment. Ok. Several month later I am billed an extra $45.00. I call Bay Area Hospital Financial Dept. explain I am likely being over billed and could I have a readout of my account - again not a big issue at that time I may have had 6 visits. No read out sent - I call twice more with same request - no read out. I get billing with threat to turn me into collections for $45.00 in dispute. Today I paid the $45.00 as it is not worth the hassle I have to go through, and I don't think a 4th call to their stellar financial Department will bear fruit. I will limit my visits to Bay Area Hospital as financial services suck.

Been waiting for over two hours to have my child seen and nothing but a very rude nurse who said we chose to come so we need to just wait. The lobby is basically empty and you can hear the staff talking and laughing, doesn't seem busy enough to make kids wait like this.

It has gotten so much bigger and switched everything up for the infusion dept. It is now located upstairs and quite aways from the elevator to the surgery waiting area which is where u go for infusions now. The staff was all very friendly and accommodating!!! Thank u

I live a 2-1/2 hour drive away from the Hospital, but I would travel much farther for the excellent outpatient care I have always received there. From the front-desk staff, to the technicians, to the doctors, I have always been treated like I am the only patient that matters. Everyone is compassionate, attentive, knowledgeable, and no-one laughs out loud when I ask my "stupid" questions. I always feel safe, and I always leave knowing I have received the best care I could possibly find. (Some wildflowers for you from a wee critter friend of mine.)

My son was born here. The Nurse Midwife, Nurse and CNAs were all great. Very kind, supportive and helpful. Everyone made this the best experience my wife has had having a child. Years ago I had a major surgery here after a very traumatic incident, and they saved my life. I was a patient for 28 days, and they took great care of me.

Twice I have tried to talk to someone about (1) a violation of HIPPA by my RN and (2)harassment by one of their employees, and twice my messages have been ignored and calls unreturned by Virginia Cannon. This hospital seemingly does not hold their employees accountable for their unacceptable and illegal conduct.

The actual wings of this department aren't bad, the cardiology, radiology, surgical depts, etc are decent+ But their ER brings them down to the lowest level. Long waits, no progress, no answer on actual things. They refuse to run tests that have potential life saving qualities, but they do double check the tests they do run which I guess is a small silver lining. It's just a bad experience at the end of the day when choosing between death and repeated visits with no results are your only options. RIP Healthcare

Outstanding staff in the emergency room. Understood the issue with motherinlaw and immediately addressed with outstanding outcome. I have worked in the healthcare industry 38 years and care was comparable to large teaching hospitals

The hospital Business office is terrible. Administration needs to have better manners. Tried calling hospital go t routed to Business office, phone rang for 7 minutes with no answer. Called back got routed to Administration, lady on phone interrupted me before I could explain and rerouted me to the switchboard. Got routed to Business office only to sit and listen to the phone ring and ring and ring. no answer. Now if you won't answer your phones to work out payment how do you expect to be paid. I am just trying to settle a bill for a services that was provided for my wife. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!

Do not trust Dr Gerber and the Nurses on the Psychiatric unit. They Discharged my son without a safety plan despite us begging them not to and 11 days later he committed suicide. If I could give them a negative rating I would!! We are in contact with a lawyer. I’ve also contacted JCAHO regarding patient safety. They refused to listen despite being told multiple times. Dr. Gerber isn’t even a Psychiatrist!!! Please take your loved one somewhere else to get proper professional help

I was seen in the emergency room 12 days post pardum. The admitting staff and triage nurse were all very efficient/friendly. Mad props for Aaron Kinn - PA. He listened to everything I said, really heard me. He did research on previous administered post pardum products to ensure safety. He was also trauma sensitive without me requesting - anyone with a history of trauma likely knows how rare this can be in health care. I'm incredibly grateful for his help.

My day surgery experience was excellent. Not only were the conditions of all the areas perfectly clean, not only was *every* *single* staffer from Admissions on up to the surgeon kind and attentive, but they all worked together so well, listened and answered all my questions. I felt like I was in Star Trek. For example, due to my concerns and requests, a last minute change in anesthesia was made and my recovery was better for it. Thank you!

I was seen in the ER when I woke up in lots of pain and had a swollen neck and a hard time swallowing. I was told the swollen neck I had was virus and should get better and I should go home after the only thing they did was run a flu/COVID test. I went home the next day I went to a different ER because my neck was worse and the pain was worse. Turns out I have a bad throat infection, pneumonia in my right lung, and sepsis. I had to be on antibiotics, zofran, and pain meds. I wish there would have been more investing done. I could have went home for days and could have died from the sepsis. I will not ever be seen there again and will never have any family or people I want to live seen there. I have small kids and I could not imagine if I would have waited longer to see someone. And by the way when I came into BAH I had been having fevers and my HR was in the 120 there was something wrong and all they did was push me out like I was fine.

Went in to get checked on for a cough that was so hard it hurt my sides. Dr Fox didn't listen to my lungs, check my ears or throat. Told me "best guess is RSV". Releases me to work while I'm still hacking and draining. Bathroom in lobby had feces on toilet so I said something to receptionist. 20 minutes later toilet was still filthy. I have been to this hospital 3 times in 5 years. Never had a good experience. Batting .1000 for terrible things

Thank you bay area hospital. The nurses and staff were wonderful. The stay was relaxed and peaceful. The surgery went well and I'm grateful for such an experience when I'm at my weakest. Thank you to Dr. Rogalski and his team, I was nervous for this procedure and stay. Everyone made it a breeze to go through. Thank you

IF I could give them no stars. I would my girl friend has cancer and her nurse navigator will not call her back . Maybe I should get an attorney and file a letter of intent for failure to provid service.

On nov 8th this year which was yesterday I was brought in on a mental health hold When I first got there I was treated with great respect and had really incredible nurses And there staff was incredibly helpful and I got to go home on the 9th. I have had a few holds before because of my autism but this trip will be a great memory I also want to thank the security team for giving me support and the nurses for making me feel like if I was the president of the United States they treated me very well Thank you Bay Area hospital for making me feel at home when I was there

This was the worst hospital visit I have ever had thankfully there aren't many but while I waited there in the lobby for 6 hours for anyone to see me a nurse asked if they really had to push me in the wheelchair then after a painful 3 hours of tests and alarms they said ok good to go when I still couldn't get up and rolled his eyes when I asked for a wheelchair said wow under his breath. Sorry I just paid you 2 months in my salary to help me...

Extremely rude. Uncoordinated. Non communicative staff. Changes medical drirections without counseling patient or his team This includes but not limited to Dillon, Julissa, Antonia, Kallie, Sandra, Lahuana (spelling), Sonya, Russell, Kayla, Nick, travis and Lisa. Avoid this hospital they will give you wrong meds and are always late and slow.

Waiting 40 minutes in er. Wife is crying in pain. People just walk by. It’s a non empathetic ghost of a hospital. But it’s clean…. Lot of good that does us

Grateful for the very kind, excellent care provided by an all travelling team of RNs, techs, and Dr. Balog, DO, in emergency services. Bay Area admin might work to expand the busy waiting room area to include adequate space for safer distancing. Furniture in waiting area could use an upgrade. While we were fine, many others appeared quite uncomfortable. Lots of overflow noted, clearly decreasing confidentiality of care. Staff personal items and eating areas were visible and could use improvement to include, dare I say, creature comforts. These are challenging times. Treating staff and visitors well matters. People do notice.

Went to the ER can barley move my shoulder and neck. This has been going on for over 2 weeks. I wouldn't even of went in to the er but the pain is so bad. They are xray happy at this hospital. That's all they did xray me and say well yours bones look fine. Tell me to ice and heat ( um I've been doing that. And been taking my muscle relaxers I'm already prescribed) so what does the ER doc say well I'm gonna prescribe you a muscle relaxer and give me a sling. I said ok well the pain is non stop and he tells me to go to a bone doctor. But sir you said my bones look good. Waste of time

Sitting in emergency room waiting for 8 hours is ridiculous. Then prescriptions never got called in after calling twice to remind them. Pretty horrible, I don't recommend going here for anything. I saw multiple elderly people leaving because they couldn't wait any longer.
