One place which can guarantee you the best view of Copenhagen. The Tower itself is an architectural Marvel. There is an Entry Ticket 🎫 to the Tower. After the ticket, a spiral 🌀 pathway leads the visitor atop the tower. The deck gives a 360 degree view of Copenhagen. Photography enthusiasts can also smother off their love for capturing Copenhagen the artistic way from this Deck. Recommended for all those aspiring seeing Copenhagen, Denmark 🇩🇰

For a taste of science history and a beautiful view of Copenhagen this tower is a must see. I saw all ages walking the spiral ramp up to the observation deck, and there’s a beautiful gallery to visit on the way up. The only difficult part is the extremely narrow spiral staircase at the top, but it’s not very long and it is controlled with traffic lights for direction. This is a simple tour with a ton of history.

Reasonable ticket price to get to the top of the tower to see the city scape. It's about 8 stories up but you don't feel tired as it has no stairs, just like going uphill. Very unique building.

This was a nice surprise. The view from the top is amazing. Make sure not to miss the observatory room when you reach the top. Along the way you can see the church, and the library room which is now used for exhibitions. And of course take a photo in the tower privy just for the laughs, but don't confuse it for the proper toilette next door. 😃

Whenever we visit Denmark, we ensure that we visit The Round Tower. Obviously, attending this place in January means that once you get up to the top, it is going to be cold. One of the nicest aspects of this place is the atmosphere. As you ascend to the top, people tend to smile at one another as they absorb the beauty of the place. It is lovely to ascend the tower and enjoy the view.

A cheap experience in Copenhagen that is worth doing. The Round Tower is a very cheap and inexpensive way to see beautiful sights of the city from above. The tower itself is designed in very unique way which has no stairs, only sloped floors. Once you climb to the top of the tower, you can view the city with 360 degree views. Even inside this tower, I was surprised to find toilets and other pieces of historical information about the tower. For how cheap it is to climb this tower, I highly recommend! 😸

An experience you must try. It's not as steep as the Bunker Hill in Boston, but it certainly lets you have a short workout. At the wolf exhibit, I wish there are more hands-on experience for customers, especially the young ones.

Well worth the cost and any wait that you may have. Not only are the views from the top worth it, but the walk up is just as cool. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a good view of the whole city.

Very lovely experience! I feel super fit after climbing this tower, it took us about 5 minutes on the way up, and much longer on the way down since we focused on that direction. Lots to do, great view on top, great breeze. There's a nice gallery and other interesting stops on the way. Great facilities (gift shops and bathrooms). Overall a very good experience. About 40 minutes overall.

Although the site isn't fancy or offer a variety of things to do, I thought it was a worthwhile stop while visiting Copenhagen. The story and history behind the ramp and tower, plus the views at the top, made for an interesting experience.

What a gorgeous little experience! The tower is mostly what you'd expect, it's round and a bit of a walk going up. Make sure to look out the windows for some very quaint and picturesque views of Copenhagen's streets and rooftops. The tower also contained an exhibit on wolf conservation which was really fascinating and eye opening. This is a great little quick stop while visiting!

The Rundetårn is surely one of the most affordable monuments to visit in Copenhagen, since the ticket is around 6 euros. On the top of the tower you can enjoy a beautiful view on the city centre from a different perspective, with all its beautiful rooftops; furthermore, inside the tower there are rooms that can be visited, related to its history and Tycho Brahe

This place was an absolute delight and excellent value for money. Great view at the top and the walk up along the spiral walkway is a lot of fun. There are info cards along the way that explain points of interest. There are also very clean lavatories that are easily accessible. Think this is now my favorite tourist attraction in Copenhagen.

Decent views of the city and a reasonable entry price. It's easy to walk up because it is inclined instead of using stairs. The very last section has stairs and is a little narrow and steep, but nothing challenging for the average person. There are also a few exhibits on the way up, including a seasonal one. In December of 2023, the seasonal exhibit was about native species in Denmark, and preservation efforts.

Fun experience in the round tower. The tower is quite high so prepare to walk for a bit inside the round tower until reaching the top. Fantastic view from the above to see the whole Copenhagen. Great views and it may be even better when visiting it during sunset times. It also has a cafe and some spot during the walk to introduce the old building and they are quite informative as well.

Fantastic view over central Copenhagen from top of the tower (which is placed in the middle of the center itself)! 1-2 times a week the observatory and it's 6" refractor telescope is open to the public in the evening hours 🪐🔭

Really worth a visit while in Copenhagen, great views of the city and the most amazing stairwell to walk to the top. It really can not be explained and so you have to visit. We visited on a very wet dark day and thoroughly enjoyed it, suitable for everyone in the family even if you have challenges to walk as only a couple of steps at the very top, really interesting bell tower and exhibition of local architecture half way. Best privy view in Europe 😉

It's a historical building and an interesting ramp going up to the top (as opposed to stairs). It's a nice climb up, and you get a nice 360 view of the city from the top level. There are some historical exhibits along the way. Otherwise, it's a building with not much else. It's worth a visit to check the box when in Copenhagen.

Pretty good view of almost the entire city for not a lot of climbing. :-) We were positively surprised by the 'wolf exhibit' in the tower as well. Definitely worth a visit. We had the Copenhagen card, so the entry was included and we didn't have to wait at all.

Pass by the tourist site while roaming around the city, resulting in walking up the tower. It was a worthy walk, circling the tower to get up, wasn't so crowded while getting up. A red/ green light was there to advise if it's okay to get up or down the final narrow stairway connecting to the viewpoint. Fun experience

Interesting tower, getting up is like going uphill with no stairs (except at the very top). It's quite fun for kids. I just wonder if it is allowed to go up riding a horse or a bicycle ?! 😅 Definitely is doable, not sure if allowed. 😉 At the top there is an observatory. 🔭 The view from the top is great!

The view from the round tower is amazing. Very organized with when you can go up or down (it's a tiny staircase fpr the last section.) one of the oldest telescopes is on top of the tower as well. Definitely worth a visit.

Just €4 adult entry to walk up this unique tower. A few things of interest as you walk up and plenty of windows to see across the rooftops. The viewing platform at the top is wide and offers fantastic views over Copenhagen.

Quite a hike up to the top of the tower, but it’s a fun experience. The views of the rooftops are beautiful and it’s definitely worth the price and the climb. There was an interesting exhibition, which we also found enjoyable!

The best place to get a nice view of the city. After a short five to ten minute climb you approach the top, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire city with maps explaining all the sights and places of interest. Bear in mind that before the top there is a steep and narrow staircase with a red light and you might need to wait for a couple of minutes till it's vacated for you to ascend. It's definitely a must-see place for anyone visiting Copenhagen.

Very nice and authentic tower. Entry fee were 40 DKK. There are several explanations. There was also an exhibition on a top level above the church, about some folks in Africa, that was a bit confusing. The view from the top is not great. I recommend any other church due to them being higher. This one is pretty low.

This was a fun visit! Totally new way to scale a tower, with a completely smooth spiral incline all the way up. There was a HUGE tour group who got in just before us so there was a wait at the top to scale the remaining stairs to reach the viewing level. Having 360° views of Copenhagen was awesome. It is a pretty flat city so a great way to see it from above. The observatory was a lovely addition to see too.

It’s not easy to climb, but when you’re on the top (terrace) you will not regret it. Take some time to savor the experience and enjoy it. Also, it would be nice to visit the church or at least see it from within the tower. You can make amazing photos at The Round tower

Early-modern age observatory, construction started in 1637 and finished in 1642, making it the oldest functioning observatory in Europe. King Christian IV had the tower built to continue the work of Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe. Part of the "Trinitatis Complex", the tower is connected to the Trinitatis Church. Great views of Copenhagen from the middle of the city.

The Round Tower in Copenhagen is a testament to architectural elegance and historical significance. Its unique design and panoramic views of the city make it a captivating visit. Entrance fee is low and you should expect a bit of a walk once you get in as you will be circling to the top. The blend of history, astronomy, and culture adds a touch of sophistication to this landmark, making it a cool place to add to your Copenhagen visit checklist.

A bit overlooked because the view is partially obscured by a fence, but overall such a worth while and fun visit. I wasn’t bothered by the fence, and thought that the Round Tower was more fun and unique than most towers and viewpoints. In a really nice area, so it’s definitely worth making time in your day for, it doesn’t have to take more than half an hour to fully experience.

The Round Tower has some of the best views of Copenhagen! It's a unique building that is worth the visit on your way to/from somewhere else. 30-45 minutes for a quick stop and a unique experience.

  • 5/5 Mark P. 6 months ago on Google
This is a great place to visit for panoramic views of the city, but be prepared for a climb to the top. The main walk up is on a circular/spiral ramp, until you reach near the top of the tower where the 360 degree viewing platform is accessed by a spiral staircase. It is worth the 40 kroner entry fee for the views. Expect to wait in line for 10 or 15 minutes for entry, depending on the time of day. There are plenty of restrooms and places inside to stop for a rest, if needed. They also have occasional special displays inside. We were able to see a display about the history of wolves in Denmark when we visited.

View from top is nice but not "wow" like I thought. Still walking up (no stairs except the last few metes - but ramp) is fun. On the way back stop at the small nature/animal museum - really nice for adults and KIDS. The whole thing takes about an hour - recommended

  • 5/5 Sara A. 7 months ago on Google
Lovely views from top of the tower. Worth the walk and the ticket. There is a gallery halfway through to the top. And has some nice exhibitions going on around the year. We found one on wolves and it was such an amazing one.

  • 5/5 James 7 months ago on Google
I loved walking up the Round tower. Not for those who struggle with walking up steep slopes as the journey up the tower is as much part of the visit as the views from the top. Ticket was 40dkk (about £4.50) and on a nice day I would say it's worth it. Not overly busy at 11am on a Monday but I can imagine it gets busier.

  • 5/5 S P. 6 months ago on Google

This former Astronomic Observatory is centrally located and well worth the visit even if just for the views from the top. I personally don’t have a problem climbing stairs but this one is 95% spiral ramp with a few stairs at the end to the viewing platform so maybe worth a try if you can’t usually climb to the top of a tower. You get a great 360 degree view of Copenhagen and on a clear day you can see the Oresund Bridge. There is also a small exhibition area about halfway up which when I visited was concentrated on Wolves, their evolution into Dogs and how they are viewed today

  • 5/5 Roma S. 5 months ago on Google
Incredible piece of architecture. Very unusual climb is easy if you an older person great place to take pictures soak in history and just see Copenhagen from above on Tuesdays they do stargazing from the telescope up top check website for hours.

Great concept, I love visiting towers but hate stairs, so this is a great alternative. It had a wolf exhibition in an adjacent room which was a fun surprise. The views were not the best, but still worth a trip for sure! Recommend 100%

  • 4/5 A Clarified W. 5 months ago on Google
The view from the top is great, and the side areas to visit on the walk up and down were very interesting. History and architecture and a view, all in one. The price was reasonable. There is no elevator or escalator. It is a winding ramp walk up and down. There are narrow stairs that may be harder to navigate to enter the top for the view.

  • 4/5 Nastja P. 4 months ago on Google
To be honest, I’ve been on other view points in other cities and this one has one big problem and that’s protection bars. Because of them you can’t make any photo or video. The view towards the city is nice and full. Price of the ticket is around 5€ and it’s not problem to climb up since it doesn’t have much stairs. It wasn’t overcrowded.

The Tower of the King The Round Tower is one of Denmark’s best-known and most visited edifices. The foundation stone was laid on 7/7 1637 and five years later the Round Tower was finished as the first part of the Trinity Complex, which was designed to accommodate three things: the Observatory at the top of the tower, the University Library above the Trinity Church and the church itself below. The Round Tower is built by King Christian IV, who constructed its round walls in the royal colours yellow and red. The King himself also sketched the famous golden rebus on the front of the tower: Lead, God, the right teachings and justice into the heart of King Christian IV.

The round tower is a quintessential part of the Copenhagen experience, one which I was lucky to experience. This place is considered ground 0 for Copenhagen, making one feel as if standing in the center of this vibrant city. It has exhibitions going on for most of the year, making it a good place to see the living history of the city. I loved how well preserved it was and how so much information was provided for visitors. The views of the city skyline and the various sketches of buildings as seen from the tower are worth seeing. This is a great place to go on the first day out in Copenhagen.

  • 5/5 Sevil C. 2 years ago on Google
It is very special tower definitely suggested if you come to Copenhagen. You can have great Copenhagen view on top of the tower, and after that you can enjoy/experience Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy-tale universe in the Library Hall where the world of books inspired the Danish writer.

  • 5/5 Kharuna R. 1 year ago on Google
Interesting structure with the flat floor up to a certain point then the view point is only accesible through stairs with a narrow staircase. The tower has some nice features with the hollow centre, its beautiful connection to the church and the view at the top is really nice.

Great for a quick visit. The way up is a wide sloped path. Easy to walk up and plenty of room to take a break if needed. Last section is about 20 steps staircase controlled via traffic light system. Aside from the excellent views there’s not much else to see. There are two small rooms on the way up and a gift shop (counter) at the top. I think I was up and down in 15 minutes. Ticket was 40DKK.

  • 5/5 Davide V. 1 year ago on Google
The oldest observatory in Copenhagen and the whole Denmark. There is actually the original telescope on the top of the tower. To reach the top you have actually to walk all around the original point zero that was used to take all the calculation for dimensions of the territory. You have to make a spiral in a large path because in origin it was used by carriages and horses to carry on all sort of things. Super nice place and the view wow, amazing right on the roof level with all the city center and the new buildings all around the city.

  • 5/5 Kay N. 1 year ago on Google

A great historic place which is worth the low entrance fee. One should definitely take the brochure in the entrance and read it, since it is quite interesting. Great view over the old city, however, from the Church of our Saviour it was better.

I was wary... just another empty attraction, just another tourist trap. I am glad I was talked into climbing up, as the round tower is full of history and content. From exhibitions, to details, the place is a good hour or two long experience I'd recommend. The art installations rotate, so you might not always see what you'd see in the photos, but that's part of the charm.

  • 3/5 Via D. 2 years ago on Google
With the city card, definitely worth the visit. Without it? The view from the Church of Our Savior was better. But it was pretty cool to walk in the room where the library used to be and see someplace Hans Christian Anderson once frequented. A nice perk is that it’s open late, so it’s a good spot for sunset.

Such a fascinating building. Sits as part of a stunning church that you should also go in while you're here, but for 80 DKK you can walk up the famous cylindrical path and end up with stunning views across wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen. While a wheelchair may be a stretch, it's a gentle walk up suitable for all ages and belly sizes. The only stairs are at the very top to the viewing platform. Not many either. There's also two offshoots near the top - one is a bell tower with some beautiful artifacts on display, and the other is a cute little cafe and gift shop. It currently (Mar 22) has a wonderful free exhibition detailing the works of HC Andersen. Well worth it.

A very long walk up the tower. The spiral tower itself is quite cool and reminds me of the alexandria lighthouse in assassin’s creed origin. Very little exhibits and the biew up is not that great due to the barriers. Only upside is that it’s opened till 8 so can visit this place as the last stop of your journey.

Entry can be paid at the door and it's 40 krones per adult. We went up and down the tower in a few minutes, there is not much to it as it's not very high and the views at the top are affected by the tall spikes all around the terrace. The best part is going up the ramp and the interior windows along which are lovely. Wear comfy shoes! Would be a nightmare to walk this in heels...

Classic round tower with 360° views of Copenhagen from the top and a bit of history in the information rooms. There is a ramp that goes all the way till the very top where there are some steps so it's pretty accessible for buggies and wheelchairs. There are windows throughout so even if you can't climb the stairs, you can still see some of the views. The only issue is the views at the top are limited. There are 2 layers of railing, the first one being over 2 mts high and the 2nd the outer railing, making the views restricted. All of my photos are done by sticking my hands out from the first railing so the pics look good but I would have really liked to see more of Copenhagen views like these. Apart from the views, the tower has 2 information rooms with history about the tower. Toilets are also available which were quite clean. Overall, it's one of the cheapest attractions in Copenhagen (if not the cheapest) hence at £5 pp, I would definitely recommend a visit.

A really interesting historic site. Well worth doing as it doesn’t take long to get to the top for amazing views. The walk up might be a bit difficult for anyone who struggles with slops. It is mostly a slope until near the top then it is a tight stairwell.

The platform is all barred so done except much of thrill. Rather than that, a very nice tower, unique in a sense. Not expensive to visit

You can see Copengahen in 360 degree. I recommend at least for once. There is no elevator. You need to walk. But you can rest on the windows sit area.

Looking at the city from above is always a show. At least once on the tower you have to climb. I would avoid very windy days, those who know the climate understand why. It pays to have a different point of view. Inside, a small, pleasant exhibition whose theme is paper flowers, so dear to the Danes. For those who want to collaborate, there is a romantic structure with flowers still under construction, where you can also leave your memory.

Great views from the top. Go early to avoid the crowds. Get a hot dog 🌭 when you leave at DØP.

The upward sloping path in this gorgeous tower is a brilliant wee excursion; the sights from the windows and the top of the tower are worth every step and there is so much information and so many details packed into this that multiple trips would not be out of the question. A lovely attraction offering brilliant views of the city!

Only a few kroner to get a really cool view of Copenhagen. Can get some nice photos inside and out and there are some interesting things to see inside. Definitely worth a quick stop if you have a few days in the city.

A great way to have a fabulous view of the city and beyond. Yes it's a good climb to the top but it's a bricked ramp so it's quite easy. Toilets available. Good information panels. Two nice display rooms. Part of the city tourist card so easy access.

This was a really neat visit! The entry fee was very reasonable, there were a couple spots to stop along the ramp to see an art installation and some historical artifacts, but the obvious highlight is climbing all the way for the top for a beautiful view. There were bathrooms available, which were clean and very appreciated.

Great panoramic view and well documented, with informative leaflets on every floor/point of interest. Denmark’s geographical ground zero

The Round Tower is a must if you want a 360-degree view of Copenhagen. There are no stairs and instead has a spiral ramp to get to the top. It's not a difficult climb but expect a couple of staircases to get to the view deck. The space also has a café and a space for exhibitions.
