On
August
13,
2022,
I
was
dinning
at
Perry’s
Steak
House
located
in
Coral
Gables,
Florida.
After
finishing
our
main
course
we
were
waiting
for
our
dessert,
when
we
noticed
several
of
the
patrons
that
were
seated
around
us
had
left
there
tables
and
the
restaurant.
Approximately
15
minutes
later
our
waitress
approached
our
table
and
advised
us
that
the
cooks
have
left
the
restaurant
due
to
an
emergency
and
that
they
are
unable
to
prepare
our
dessert.
I
asked
the
waitress
what
was
the
emergency
and
he
replied,
he
did
not
know.
At
that
time
the
patrons
to
our
left
came
back
to
there
table
and
stated
to
us
that
the
fire
department
has
cleared
all
patrons
to
return
to
there
tables.
The
returning
patrons
further
advised
that
the
reason
they
evacuated
was
due
to
a
gas
leak.
We
then
request
the
manager
to
our
table.
Moments
later
Jesus
(manager)
asked
us
what
were
our
concerns.
We
then
advised
him
that
the
restaurant
was
evacuated
due
to
a
gas
leak
but
we
were
never
told
about
the
gas
leak
or
to
evacuate.
We
further
advised
that
they
put
us
at
risk
and
demanded
to
know
why
we
were
not
told
to
evacuate.
Jesus
replied,
“I
am
sorry
next
time
I
will
do
a
better
job”
After
several
other
questions
he
again
replied,
I
will
do
a
better
job
next
time.
This
is
outrageous
we
were
not
given
a
reason
as
to
why
we
were
not
advised
about
the
gas
leak
and
given
the
opportunity
to
evacuate
the
restaurant.
Now
I
pose
a
question,
could
this
be
a
race
issue
because
we
were
the
only
black
Americans
inside
the
restaurant
at
that
time?
I
am
not
saying
that
was
the
reason,
however
no
one
gave
us
an
explanation.
We
are
still
demanding
a
response.
We
were
a
party
of
six
including
two
retired
Police
Officers
and
a
local
investigative
News
reporter.
